Looking to get Moustakas (who will be a FA) from the Royals for the Cardinals to play 3B? What package could I send? Looking to probably send some minor league SP, or a package with one major league field player? Ideas? Peralta just isn't cutting it.

Interesting. In the hybrid roster Franco is superior on all defensive categories except arm strength. With that in mind, do you think my offer of Moniak, Kilome, and Franco is fair. Or too much of an overpay for Sano? The Phillies have plenty of prospects to get it done. I figured with four years of control, the Twins have no real reason to move him now unless they are "blown away" by an offer.
Dakota Hudson and Harrison Bader should work. Maybe someone else will chime in but thats probably in the ballparkComment

You talked about Cole recently so I posted it

Gotcha. I appreciate it. And I'm down to Gray or Archer at this point. Archer was traded by the Rays to the Royals in an absolute joke of a trade. I caught it about a week after it happened so I reversed it. He's back on Tampa Bay now.
I'm now at July 26th on my franchise so I need to make a move. I've been starting Montgomery in the fifth spot and he did well in his first start and absolutely terrible in his second.

Estrada or Happ are two other ones that would work if the Jays are out of it.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Looking for some in advice in trading away Iwakuma in my Mariners franchise. I just can't get the feel for him, leading to a 5-7 record with a 4.74 ERA. I'm sitting on July 19th, so looking to deal at the deadline, and have targeted both the Rockies and Pirates as trade partners as both are within 4 gb of a wildcard spot and have a rotational need and can use Iwakuma as a second half rental to make a playoff push.
I have identified a few prospects from each team that are in the B-C potential range but as I don't know too much about these players in their respective systems, I want advice. Let me know if a good Iwakuma deal could be made of these players or any other prospects to look at that'd make sense.
Rockies:
R. McMahon - 3B
S. Navin - C
H. Rodriguez - P
A. Balog - P
Pirates:
Y. Garcia - P
J. Osuna - LF
C. Simpson - 1B
E. Weiss - 2B
Thanks for any advice or insight!Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Trade deadline for me is now just four days away... not so shockingly, still haven't made a deal for a starter.
Obviously a top-tier starter is what I'd really want but I'm curious what some of you guys think it might take to get a solid starter (not necessarily an ace) with a few controllable years past 2017.
Examples (with in-game stats). All pitchers are on teams that are well out of contention.
Taijuan Walker | Arizona Diamondbacks
2-10, 4.29 ERA, 99 K, 40 BB, 1.47 WHIP, 1.4 WAR, 4.02 FIP
Kevin Gausman | Baltimore Orioles
4-6, 3.69 ERA, 105 K, 36 BB, 1.30 WHIP, 2.6 WAR, 3.27 FIP
Alex Cobb | Tampa Bay Rays
6-7, 2.82 ERA, 106 K, 31 BB, 1.13 WHIP, 2.4 WAR, 3.45 FIP
Jake Orodizzi | Tampa Bay Rays
8-9, 3.92 ERA, 97 K, 43 BB, 1.45 WHIP, 1.3 WAR, 4.23 FIP
Vince Velasquez | Philadelphia Phillies
5-5, 3.41 ERA, 87 K, 40 BB, 1.45 WHIP, 1.3 WAR, 4.21 FIPComment

I think you can get Odorizzi for Cease, Candelario & Caratini.
Cobb could probably get done for DeLaCruz & Caratini.
I don't see ARI trading Walker so quickly, & BAL loves Gausman.
Velasquez is harder to gauge, I'm not sure on him. Only 24 years old & not a FA until after the 2021 season. Definitely gonna cost you the most in terms of prospects, probably gonna have to overpay since they're in a rebuilding phase & don't HAVE to trade him:
Velasquez for Happ, Cease & Clifton

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm at the end of June '17 in my Cubs franchise. I would like to know what it would cost to bring Zach Eflin of the Phillies to the Cubs. I know they likely wouldn't be looking to trade a young pitcher with less then a year of service. But I still would like to acquire him. He has been in AAA all year.
His stat line in AAA is: 3.89ERA 76.1IP 36BB 47SO 1.65WHIP 7HR 14GS.Comment

Odorizzi for Baez and Martinez
Walker for Baez, De La Cruz and Almora Jr
Velasquez for Baez, Candelario and Clifton
Gausman for Baez, Almora Jr and Clifton
Something in the ballpark of these. Still expensive, just not quite as bad. Pitching is hard to acquire

Cobb would be Candelario plus De La Cruz
Odorizzi for Baez and Martinez
Walker for Baez, De La Cruz and Almora Jr

So for Kevin Gausman (4-3, 3.43 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 1.8 WAR, stats in my franchise) I could get a long-term replacement for JJ Hardy (Baez), replacement for Adam Jones (Almora Jr) and a righty with upside? Didn't think Gausman held that much value.
Would his value be similar in the offseason in which he will still have three years of team control left?Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
You get a bit more at the deadline just because teams need the asset for a run. So you'd probably lose a bit of value in the off-season. If it's at the deadline teams view it as 4 postseason runs and the off-season would only be 3.

If I do wait to trade Gausman, and just using the guys mentioned above would only Almora Jr, and Clifton be a fair deal? Or a deal of Baez and Clifton?Comment

You trade away Addison Russell, Candelario and De La Cruz/Clifton and you get Chris Archer.
Gets you your ace, you keep Baez & Happ and just slide Baez to SSComment
