Molina has a 3 year deal. Kelly is more valuable as a trade piece to them than sitting in AAA

Acuna + Fried + Anderson. But you're blowing through your prospects. And the Braves already have a guy who plays trash defense and hits homers (Kemp). Not really sure why you want to make that combo, but I think you could pull off

Albies + Allard + Soroka + Demeritte or Pache for Archer and

Acuna + Fried + Anderson for Gray and K. Davis

Not from what I've read. It seems they are more than willing to let him stay down in Triple-A longer than most prospects. And three years will go by pretty quickly.

Then they probably can't get Quintana unless they decide they're okay trading Reyes

Thread has been dead for 13 hours so I'm bumping these.

                  TRADE #1
                  WAS Receives:
                  Andrew McCutchen | .274 AVG, 5 HR, 26 RBI
                  (Replacing Eaton on IR)

                  PIT Receives:
                  Juan Soto
                  Austin Voth
                  Pedro Severino

                  TRADE #2
                  TOR Receives:
                  Ryan Braun | .330 AVG, 11 HR, 34 RBI

                  MIL Receives:
                  Sean Reid-Foley
                  Dalton Pompey

                  TRADE #3
                  STL Receives:
                  Jose Quintana | 3-4, 3.64 ERA, 74.2 IP

                  CHW Receives:
                  Carson Kelly
                  Luke Weaver
                  Harrison Bader
                  Sandy Alcantara
                  Oscar Mercado

                  TRADE #4
                  TEX Receives:
                  Sean Doolittle | 0-0, 4.76 ERA, 11.1 IP

                  OAK Receives:

                  Joe Palumbo
                  Brady Dragmire

In addition to this Texas trade, I have some interest (Texas) in inquiring on Sonny Gray. For starters, I know this means that I'd be taxed for being inner-division. With that said, Gray is have a really poor season. 2-8 with a 6.30 ERA and only 48 SO over 70 IP (not terrible but not exactly ace quality). Is there something that could be done here? Or is it more realistic that Oakland holds out for another year hoping Sonny returns to form? I'm trying to see if I can slightly take advantage of the poor play in hopes that a change of scenery sets Sonny back on the right path. That said, I know that inner-division tax could scare me away.

                    Pedro Severino

Seems heavy for Cutch as a rental, but I'm not too familiar with Washingtons prospects.

                    TRADE #2
                    TOR Receives:
                    Ryan Braun | .330 AVG, 11 HR, 34 RBI

                    MIL Receives:
                    Sean Reid-Foley
                    Dalton Pompey

Too little for Braun I think, especially with those numbers. Unless Pompey is killing it wherever he is.

                    TRADE #3
                    STL Receives:
                    Jose Quintana | 3-4, 3.64 ERA, 74.2 IP

                    Sandy Alcantara
                    Oscar Mercado

Seems ok but I'm not sure the Cards want to give up Kelly.

                    TRADE #4
                    TEX Receives:
                    Sean Doolittle | 0-0, 4.76 ERA, 11.1 IP

                    OAK Receives:

                    Joe Palumbo
                    Brady Dragmire

                    I'm good with this.

It's probably most realistic for Oakland to wait a year, but if you're dead set on having him now, throw a B and a C or 2 and that should do it for now.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

On my Giants franchise I was looking to acquire Ben Revere from the Angels. The season just started as I'm on my 7th game. But I was wanting an upgrade in LF. Revere is the Angel's 4th outfielder and I think he would be provide some good speed at the top of my lineup with Nunez. And I can put Revere in RF and move Pence to LF with Span in CF.

I almost pulled the trigger on the trade below. I don't know if that is a fair deal or if I'm giving up too much with Panik. Their 2B is Espinosa who can play all IF. They are rated the same at 79 but Espinosa is a FA in 2018 where Panik is controlled for 3 more years. So that would be their benefit.

I could do either of these deals.

                      SF gives:
Panik (slow start batting below .100)
                      Ruggliano (be their 4th OF)

                      LAA gives:
Espinosa (slow start as well batting below .200)
Revere (only has like 5 AB)

I could call up Arroyo to be my everyday 2B along with Espinosa and Tomlinson filling in the IF backups.

                      Or I could do:

                      Panik
                      Ruggliano

                      for

                      Revere
                      and a prospect.

I tried to get Revere without giving up Panik and they would take a RP and 2 prospects but I feel like I'm shorting them.

Cutch isn't a rental, he has an option though 2018.

Yeah Braun seems to be killing it. Think Pompey needs to be Alford.

Cards may not want to deal Kelly but its going to take one of Kelly/Reyes to get him. Obviously if Reyes is involved the package after that gets much smaller.

I don't think this is enough for Doolittle. The Rangers have a pretty mehh system and Palumbo is around 15th and the other guys isn't even there. If we've been saying something like Candelario from the Cubs you're gonna have to bump this up substantially.

And yeah the A's aren't going to sell you Gray low. They would only move him if they could get at least one of Mendez or Tavares and probably ask for Gallo too. Like we've said in here, inter-division trades cost more than fair-market-value

My mistake on Cutch, I completely forgot about his option. Looks better now then.

Might need to bump the Doolittle one up a bit, I was just looking at those numbers + injury history

I don't have stats in front of me, but Darvish is pitching well. Would a Darvish to Redsox for Jason Groome work?

In my world the Sox also have "won" the Otani sweepstakes and will resign Darvish to a new contract *that was the stipulation*

So RedSox rotation would be for the next few seasons -
                            Sale
                            Price
                            Darvish
                            Otani
                            Porcello

And add Pomeranz and Rodriguez. I almost thought making a package deal. Sending some B prospects to Redsox for Groome and Rodriguez and or Pomeranz for Darvish + since they would have so much tied into pitching.

Probably not realistic, but curious on others thoughts.

Might need to bump the Doolittle one up a bit, I was just looking at those numbers + injury history
Doolittle is hard because in real life he is always getting hurt but generally in the game he stays healthy and produces pretty well

I was about to respond to the other post but I'll just respond here. I think the WAS/PIT deal is solid. The only question mark is Soto who I could swap for Stevenson but I think PIT really tries to sell high here.

I'm good with swapping Pompey out for Alford. Alford has been called up but Pompey is doing pretty well in AAA.

I decided to go with Kelly here after you recommended it. I did some additional looking at stories on Yadier's extension and the overall consensus amongst Cardinal fans (Because Quintana for a Kelly package has been mentioned) was that Quintana would be worth losing Kelly if they kept Reyes.

Let me try to wrap the Gray and DooLittle package together and you can simply let me know how off I am. Texas' system is so weak that I wouldn't be surprised if it still isn't doable. (Which is completely understandable)

                                TEX Receives:
                                Sonny Gray (Stats Above)
                                Sean DooLittle (Stats Above)

                                OAK Receives:
                                Ariel Jurado (#3)
                                Brett Martin (#5)
                                Anderson Tejada (#7)
                                Alex Speas (#9)
                                Joe Palumbo (#11)
                                Yeyson Yrizarri (#17)

Those rankings are per MLB.com and reflect their ranking in the Ranger system. If that doesn't work, are any of these guys more affordable for me:

                                Junior Guerra (2.34 ERA, 4-3, 77 IP)
                                Taijuan Walker (2.36 ERA, 3-4, 80 IP)
                                Danny Duffy (3.33 ERA, 5-5, 78.1 IP)
                                Ivan Nova (3.71 ERA, 2-8, 77.2 IP)
