If you're dealing from your farm, you may have to pick one or the other (closer vs. MLB speed). You just don't have enough to do both without shutting your AA team down for a season.

If you're looking for a stop gap, we did a deal a yesterday for R. Davis (OAK) for a couple of prospects and a bag of Big League Chew, check it out.

Would either of these teams be interested in a package based around Christian Vasquez or Blake Swihart? The farm is obviously a bit more barren after Dave got to it but would one of the catchers and another B prospect work for one of those pitchers?
Tony Watson is your guy here in a win-win trade scenario. Either guy and a B pitching prospect will get that done all day long. You could even save yourself some prospect currency if he's having an 'average' year.

You would be buying high on Bedrosian and that would require a kings ransom. He either repeats and requires even more than that ransom or he doesn't and you wouldn't want him anyway. One of those guys that would cost more than he's worth and you can find much better values around the league.

I think any deal would look better in context with current season numbers and an idea of what the franchise is looking like at the deadline. Just my 2 cents though... real hard to quantify with that much money sloshing around.

Poor Tigers. They tried so hard to buy a closer last year and just couldn't get it done. If the Pirates are out of it at the deadline, T. Watson should be moved. Is he lock down? Probably not but he's an upgrade for you and should be affordable (though probably a touch expensive in a sellers market) for your farm providing he's not pitching out of his mind.

Chapman just got paid on a 5 year deal. If it was a 2 year deal I would say he was movable. 1st year of a 5 year deal...nah.
It was said in an earlier post that if you were to eat all of greinkes contract you could trade for him straight up for ellsbury, fowler and green.

Pretty sure it was one of Mateo or Fowler and Green or Tate. Not the lower of both

I actually ducked out of this thread for a bit waiting for some non-superstar related deals to pop up!

Right now I'm looking at Patrick Corbin from the D-backs. They seem insistent on starting him, I look at his velocity bump + nasty slider and see a really effective high-leverage reliever. Any ideas on a Corbin to the Jays trade?

Further, I've seen a couple posts on Puig after my own about 100 pages ago. Bard told me Sean Reid-Foley + catcher prospect + middling reliever was fair value, others don't seem so high on him. I'd like to keep Reid-Foley if I can. Let's get a decent consensus on him as he seems a hot button target.

It's your franchise. He doesn't need to be injured. You should be asking: what is his value when he is healthy.

I went and looked taking on Ellsbury is like ARZ eating $20 million a year. In that scenario I said Mateo and Kaprelian. In the original where ARZ ate $15 million a year or was said Fowler and Tate but you liked Tate and wouldn't move him so you decided to sub in Green

No by Arizona taking on Ellsbury it is essentially the same as Arizona eating $20 million. So it doesn't change anything

Financial constraints stopping me doing a deal on Braun. How do I get around that as the Angels?

I see all these 5 man prposals, but I can only shift 3

Why would the Angels possibly do that? Send two cheaper, better options AND a pitcher for an aging outfielder and Gregorious.
