Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

It's the 2017-18 offseason and I'm looking to make a WC run with Atlanta this upcoming season. Trying for Archer to anchor my rotation, since Coppy's been heavily interested. Assume he finished this year with similar numbers he has IRL.

What's a realistic starting point? I'd prefer to build it around a few arms and Demeritte/Riley. Willing to give more top 15ish guys if it means hanging onto Albies/Maitan/Acuna. We have the depth to pull from.

If the price gets too steep, I'll probably just move for a 3B then see how we start the season.

In the game I'm sure I could probably just re-sign Arrieta within my week of exclusive negotiations. But we all know that's not going to happen in real life. I'll let him go to free agency and then (using 30-team control) have a few big-markets offer him a ridiculous contract. I'll offer one as well, and if he signs, cool.

I did the same thing with Fowler last year. Had a couple teams offer him way more than what I did, but he re-signed with the Cubs.

To keep Jimenez would you do Baez, Cease, Candelario and Martinez.

Possibly. You think that would be an acceptable alternative?

Realistic starting point involves guys you don't want to include like Albies

Still very early in my second season (currently 12-7) and just saw Brewers have put Jonathan Villar on the trade block. I'd like to use him as my everyday 3B eventually (don't want to trade for him now as it's unrealistic since the season just began). He's not doing well now, for what it is worth, with .223/1HR/5 RBIs.

If Brewers are out and I'm in the race for playoffs, does it sound like a fair deal:

              Ian Anderson
              Sean Newcomb
              Sanders Cummings

That's seems like a pretty good package although you may be overpaying slightly with those numbers. What's his SB total at?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

I am in December 2019 with my Blue Jays franchise and looking to make a big splash at the winter meetings. I did a rebuild and have drafted very well and am looking to cash in on my deep prospect pool. Last year we lost in the wild card game and i don't want that to happen again so I'm looking for a true ace. If i could get a rough outline of the value of a trade for these guys is that'd be awesome thanks. Here are my options:

Coreey Kluber: The Indians went 75-87 last year and haven't made the playoffs in 2 years. Kluber is in the final year of his deal so this will be a rental. His stats: 15-11 3.14era 1.12whip He's 33 now.

Chris Archer: I understand there will be inner division tax but Tampa still is awful in 2020 and might be looking to switch things up. Archer struggled to a 11-13 4.14era 1.40whip. He's 31 now and in the final year of his contract in the game.

Michael Fulmer: This one might be more because he still has 3 years of team control left and pitched outstanding last year. Thinking this deal might be close to what the sox got for sale. Tigers went 77-85 last year so they could turn it around so it might not be realistic but honestly the roster looks terrible so i doubt it. Stats: 15-8 2.92era 1.13whip he's now 27 years old

                  Thanks for any input!

So basically a minor league player swap of someone with same potential.

                    Change of scenery type trade?

What would I have to trade for Howie Kendrick as the Blue Jays. The Phillies are 11.5 GB at the end of June.

Kendrick is batting .236/.313/.300 with 2 HR, 23 RBI and 7 steals in 233 at bats.

I was thinking maybe starter Shane Dawson (66/C) or Jeremy Gabryszwski (60/C) and either Goin or maybe another C prospect?? Or would I have to give up a B prospect?

                        Thanks!

It's really hard to project that far out. We don't really know what prospects you have to its hard to suggest. Off the cuff Archer would still be expensive with all his team control, Fulmer would take Vlad JR and I have no idea on Kluber since I have no clue what you have to give

So what would it be? I'm guessing Nick Gordon or Berrios would be giving up way too much? You think like some B level talents like Gonsalaves or is that too much as well
