Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I posted not long time ago if I should upgrade on 3B with my Braves. I decided to stay path to start my 2nd season (platoon between Kaleb Coward & Rio Ruiz). Also, I just lost Ruiz for 1-2 months
Still very early in my second season (currently 12-7) and just saw Brewers have put Jonathan Villar on the trade block. I'd like to use him as my everyday 3B eventually (don't want to trade for him now as it's unrealistic since the season just began). He's not doing well now, for what it is worth, with .223/1HR/5 RBIs.
If Brewers are out and I'm in the race for playoffs, does it sound like a fair deal:
Ian Anderson
Sean Newcomb
Sanders Cummings
Thanks!
I like Jose Ramirez from the Indians can hit for contact, decent speed. For some reason it's not hard to get him the game probably because his C potential. I know Jose plays 2b but I have always played him in at the hot corner. He is a switch hitter also.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
[QUOTE=jtott;2048847442]So I am starting up a new Franchise using Ridin' s OSFM 2.5 roster.
I am the Cardinals.. no Fantasy Draft ..
Looking at some of the rosters ... contracts aren't right ... example Pujols. He is getting paid like 9.5 mil each of the next 4 seasons ... not the the 30 that he is actually getting paid... in other words much cheaper now.
I Would like him to retire a Cardinal so I traded for him. Tell me what you think...
I offered :
Matt Adams
Jhonny Peralta
Harrison Bader
For ...
Pujols and JC Ramirez
Adams .. no matter what I was wanting to trade. I added Peralta to drop his salary. The Angels wanted Bader.. no matter what.
I could have offered Bader for Pujols straight up and they would have taken it
Thoughts ?
He never retires in the first season. Wait until the offseason you will get him for a minor leaguer just have to worry about the contract.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Yes, saw him as a potential candidate but I try my best to keep it realistic. Indians trading him doesn't make any sense (especially since they won the WS during my 1st year). They need MLB players, not good prospects. Brewers on the other side.. (even if they are playing good now IRL)Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Okay, I'm getting very close to the trade deadline and my biggest need has yet to be filled. I've posted a number of options for starting pitchers for my Cubs and I appreciate the discussion. I'm out on Gerrit Cole as I'm not willing to give Pittsburgh a king's random.
So my eyes have turned back to my original targets. I want both (if possible) Sonny Gray and Sean Doolittle from Oakland. If I had to take just one, I guess it would be Gray.
Here's a few trades the Athletics are willing to accept on the game. What do you guys think?
1. Sonny Gray straight up for any one of the following:
Javier Baez, Ian Happ, Albert Almora Jr.
Sonny Gray and Sean Doolittle for:
Jeimer Candelario, Albert Almora Jr. and Eddy Martinez.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm curious to see what you guys think of this one..
I'm in season one with the Phillies. It's end of July and I'm well out if it. The Red Sox, who sit three games back of the Blue Jays for first and are currently leading the wild card offer me Devers and Swihart for Maikel Franco, who is hitting .282 but only has 9 hrs in 352 abs.
Is this realistic? Obviously the Sox are in win now mode with what they unloaded for Sale last season. I just can't decide if they make Devers available here. Should also mention that the trash Panda is hitting around .250 with 10 hrs. Should I do it? I think it makes sense in that the Phillies are still a few years away from contention and might entertain it. Thanks guys.Comment

I don't think so Maikel Franco is Phillies "Prize" possession. But you never know with the new Phillies head office.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
There was no context of Pittsburgh's record either. Like are these teams actual sellers or are you just trying to find what works for you? Same with Oakland. I'm assuming Oakland is closer to being out of contention already.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I decided to start a second Franchise with the Rockies as I have always enjoyed watching Charlie Blackmon, CarGo from afar. Well three games into the season CarGo goes down with a torn Labrum and then Parra tears his hamstring in the same damn game. I was left speechless after this game. Needless to say the Injury slider went down a notch after this one.
Anyway I know I am only three games into the season but do you guys have any suggestions of guys I can target in a trade? Assuming the Tigers and Royals struggle out the gate would Cain or JD Martinez could I afford to acquire those guys? Or should I stick to guys a tier below them?Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Sorry, should have provided it.
I'm not at home right now but both Oakland and Pittsburgh are well out of contention. Gray and Doolittle have not been spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. Relatively average numbers (I'll post specifics when I get home).
Not sure about Cole's stats either. But both teams are undoubtedly sellers.
Baez has had a great year. He's hitting right at .300 and has 14 home runs, and around 40-50 RBIs. You guys mention how you have to trade people that you don't want to to get good players. Well, he's definitely one. However, Is probably rather part with him than Happ or Jiminez since I still have decent options for second base.
