Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
By far one of the best threads on the boards. Love seeing people getting so involved. I just started my new Mets franchise when I get to the point of trading I will bring it here. Makes me wonder though has OS ever had a section where people can create a thread about there offline franchise and post scores, updates, that people can follow? Would go great since so many of you post great details about the players in your leaguesThe Show- New York Mets
Madden- New York Giants
NBA2k- New York Knicks
NHL- New York RangersComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Love this thread. I've been following it for a while. I have a diamondbacks franchise that I'm in the offseason 2017 in. I'm looking to make some trades.
I'd love to get Guerrero Jr. (his dad was my favorite player growing up). Would Yasmany Tomas (they have a need at LF), Anthony Banda (B pot-top 50 prospect), and a C prospect get it done?
I also need a closer (Rodney retired). Could I get anybody decent for Shelby Miller (I want to slide Archie Bradley into the rotation for 2018). I was looking at Kelvin Herrera or Ken Giles possibly. Miller had a solid year (about 500 record and 3.5ish ERA in 2017).
The computer will accept these trades, but as we all know that doesn't mean much.
Thanks for any input.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
July 2019 in my Cubs franchise. Looking for a new ACE as Lester is struggling at 35 years old. Also both Almora and Baez can't stay happy so I'm looking to ship both off. That will solve my Baez/Happ problem as well.
So while I was browsing through "rebuilding" teams, I came across Tampa Bay. Was thinking of trading for both Kiermaier and Gray (acquired back in 2017 for Archer straight up).
Cubs get
Gray-29 y/o 88 ovr 1 year ARB left
7-2 2.08 ERA, 1.16 Whip, almost 3-1 k-bb ratio
Keirmaier- 28 y/o 86 ovr 3 years left
.290/.364/.481, 9 HR, 37 rbis, 2.8 war
Rays get
Baez-26 y/o 89 ovr 2 years left
.258/.311/.404, 12 HR, 48 rbis, 1.5 war
Almora- 24 y/o 79 ovr 3 years ARB left
.215/.300/.350, 4 HR,18 rbis, 1.1 war
Eloy Jimenez-22 y/o 69 ovr A potential
#5 rated prospect
SP Leo Guerrero- 21 y/o 71 ovr B potential (88)
#25 rated prospect
3B Candelario-25 y/o 67 ovr B potential (83)
SP Roger Olson-19 y/o 61 ovr B potential (85)
Again if I need to add more I will. If you need more information let me know. Thanks

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
The Tomas deal is a no go in my opinion. Vlad JR. is the Jays top prospect and unless Tomas is playing out of his mind he's too expensive at $13.5M, $15.5M and $17M salaries. Basically if Jays are going to move Vlad JR. it's because they're competing and they can get a lot better than Tomas.Comment

Thanks for the reply. I'm using default contracts so Tomas only is making like 1.7 mil so the salary wouldn't be much of an issue.
Would Archie Bradley for Guerrero be an option? Or is Guerrero untouchable? (Aside from Goldschmidt)

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I feel like Pollock could get you a better headliner than that. That Jays deal has you getting 3 decent prospects but in my opinion Pollock could net you a better first piece.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
This can go with my above response to Pollock to the Jays. Bradley isn't enough, not even close but I'd be interested in hearing others opinions of a Vlad Jr. for Pollock deal. I think extremely high of Pollock, but at the same time I know how highly the Jays think of Vlad Jr.
Thanks. I think I'll give up on Guerrero for now. Maybe if my team struggles and I'm looking to shop Goldschmidt down the line I'll come back to it. I didn't realize he was that highly regarded.

A.) Assessing Pollock's Value
B.) Finding Pollock's Market
The big issue is, who needs Pollock and has prospects at a need position? I've already dealt for Robles and have a pending deal for Verdugo. I've dealt for Happ and Kieboom with a possible pending deal for Urena. I'm also trying to see if I can swing a deal for Gallo. That leaves Lamb at 3rd and either Tomas/Peralta at the remaining outfield position. Biggest need seems to be acquiring pitching, catching and/or a shortstop. Granted Guerrero Jr. could play Outfield and I could try moving Peralta/Tomas, I just don't think there is a lot of value there. Happ could also move to LF, giving me an outfield of Happ, Robles and Verdugo. I could move Lamb to 1st, look into Guerrero Jr for 3rd and leave both Drury and Owings at 2nd and Short.Comment
