As CHW, you have the pieces to get this done. Use the K.Giles to HOU deal as a comp and then add a little bit. It's gonna hurt but if you want to be fair, it's supposed to.

Embarrassing information on one of the Steinbrenner crew. Taking the Ellsbury contract. Judge breaks his femur. See where I'm headed? Nothing in realistic terms...especially for the Reds.
I bet you could get Cashmans attention with Amir Garret. A young athletic lefty is appealing

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

I'm only in September 2017 with the Blue Jays and am excited for the post season to start. However, I am starting to look towards the off season.

For whatever reason, I cannot hit with Kevin Pillar. So far his stat line is:

          420 AB, 3 HR, 37RBI, 11SB, .252AVG, .309OBP, .651OPS, 1.9WAR

Not great offensive numbers, but still a month left to improve and not to mention his elite defence in centre field. That being said, I'll be losing Liriano and Estrada in free agency and was curious if Pillar could net me a youngish SP?

Some teams with needs in CF for 2018 as well as pitchers that interest me are:

          OAKLAND: Sean Manaea, Kendall Graveman
          SEATTLE: Drew Smyly, James Paxton
          CLEVELAND: Trevor Bauer

Let me know if I'm way off base here. Thanks guys

I'm going to trade my 6'7" 280lb. freak of a RF that I rushed through the minors for a 6'6' 210 athletic lefty with an elbow that is held together by 2 rubber bands who also got shelled by the Brewers yesterday? What's coming with him and how much money am I getting?

I hear what you're saying but I'm just not impressed yet. And as a O's fan, I don't need to explain my feelings for the Yankees and I still wouldn't hurt them like that.

What sort of value do you put on Joey Votto? The guy is great, but his contract is a bit of a millstone around the Reds neck for the foreseeable future and looks risky given the length. Are we talking about a hug haul including a top prospect or two, or more like young major league talent with controllable years?

It was one poor outing. Judge was like a lower end of the top 100 prospect. He could definitely be traded for.

Mitch Haniger has been twice as valuable as Judge so far. What would you say his value is after 1 month

After reading through this thread about Otani I think I'm going to pause my dbacks franchise and start a Marlins one. The only thing holding me back from being the Marlins was the lack of starting pitching but if I sign Otani that gives me hope for the future. And it sounds like a realistic landing zone for him.

Obviously I could sign him for a very friendly deal but what would actually be realistic?

The beauty of Otani is that is realistic. He can't sign for something "unfriendly." I think realistically he'll get something like 6 years with an opt-out after 3, so you can basically get 3 cheap-ish years before he really gets paid. Only 22 or 23 as Well, so signing him for 3 years then giving him another 7 isn't really as sketchy as a Price or Greinke contract.

Got an idea for a package ? I also have Glasnow and Bell from the pirates from the quintana deal.

Can it start with Raynaldo Lopez, I would like to keep Giolito and kopech if possible

Thanks for the reply. I never really understood the economics of bidding and signing Japanese players.

Well we have decided to finally send the offer of Adalberto Mejia to the Rangers for Chirinos. I will wait to finish my current series to give Castro one last chance. I wanted to wait until the deadline to try and get a catcher like Mesoraco but my offense is struggling with a dead spot at catcher. I am also looking at a package of Tyler Jay and Vielma for Cory Dickerson.

Garrett spent 4 years 400+ IP in the minors and showed me a FIP of 4+. Judge spent 2 years 1500+ PA's and showed me wRC+ of 140+. Haniger spent 4 years to get his 1500+ PA's and showed me...eh, I'm not averaging that out but less than 140. Fangraphs tells us Judge is FV55 and Haniger is FV40 and a year older. Garrett is FV45, a pitcher and a year younger than Judge.

Judge >> Haniger <> Garrett. The way I see it. We're not going to value players on 1 month of sample but when has Garrett shown anything the level of FV55?

P.S. I'm cheating a little, you're on your mobile and I looked stuff up.
