    MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

What would the Royals need back for either Paulo Orlando or Peter O'Brien? Assuming similar value as today in real life?

Looking mainly at Orlando to platoon against LHP. I think the Royals want SP according to their block.

while waiting for Hybrid roster to come out I came up with some Seattle trades that Im looking for opinons on...

      Boston gets Seager
      Seattle gets Sandoval (contract)
      Devers, Matt Barnes

      Cubs get Chisek
      Seattle get Candelario

      LA gets Cruz
      Seattle get Either (contract)
      Calhoun, and Trevor Oaks

      Baltimore gets Segura, Cano
Seattle get Hardy (contract), Schoop and Sisco, and Tanner Scott

Thought son fairness, it didnt seem right to dump a bunch of payroll withut some penalty

I've just started a franchise with the Athletics using the OSFM 1.5 rosters, and I wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions for lefty starting pitchers I could get for Jessie Hahn and Madson. Thanks!

So not a trade but a free agent signing that I (Red Sox) am really thinking about making. Brett Lawrie.

Sandoval has struggled so far (low .200), so I figured if I sign Lawrie, he could platoon with Sandoval where he's a better hitter against lefties and has better power overall. He could also fill in for Bogaerts and Pedroia when they need rest. Don't know how he would fair at first, but he may also be able to fill in since Moreland is struggling as well, if not he could just be the DH with Hanley at first.

To make the move, Holt would head to AAA since he's batting something like .077.

          Thoughts?

It wouldn't take much for either. Give them a minor league starter that has upside but some warts.

I don't think it makes sense to use Devers to dump Sandoval but Seager is pretty great so that's probably a fair deal.

Candelario is worth more than Chisek

The Cruz deal feels pretty good. Maybe even switch Oaks to Mitchell White.

The last deal doesn't make much sense to me. I doubt the Orioles would do that since they need to save cash to try to keep Machado.

Hahn isn't very valuable but Madson has some value. But to get a lefty worth using you're going to have to give up real assets not scraps

Can Dalton Pompey get me an elite set up man or solid closer to pair with Osuna? I'm still at the 2017 deadline and looking to beef up for a World Series run. Pompey has been in AAA all year and I don't see him making my team next year either but he is still a B potential prospect.

I'm hoping for a guy like Raisel Iglesias or even Brandon Maurer; someone who is still young and would fit long term but I have no idea what Pompeys value is now a days. Is a veteran like David Robertson more realistic?

Really any ideas on what Pompeys value is would be helpful and much appreciated.

starting one up with the As, mainly because they usually start trying to compete and wait to see what happens, but looking at acquiring Jose Abreu or Charlie Blackmon.

any suggestions? do not think i have any untouchable besides the few MLB regulars and Barretto/Manea

I'm about 23 games below .500 in my Marlins franchise so things have fallen off the rail. Would could I get for Dee Gordon? He's hitting around .295 with a few homers and a decent amount of SB's.

cant get the handle of the Nelson Cruz stance. Would a trade to the Yanks for Holliday and a B pitching prospect(73 ovr) be fair or realistic? Thanks!

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Ever since the Jeter/Bush rumors began to swirl, I've been tinkering with something. Though these rumors may very well be just that, rumors, it sparked a summer journal idea for the dynasty thread that I should be able to publish starting next month as my summer opens up. That is the prelude for the following deal...I want to trade G.Stanton.

We've kicked it around a bit and I suggested a Miggy like return though never put names to it. After looking at 9 teams I thought could get this done, I've narrowed it down to 4 packages that I would like feedback on. There are a lot of moving pieces here and outside of straight value (which should be close give/take a few million), I'd also like to hear from fans of the teams as to the realism of the idea.

                      Miami
G.Stanton - (use today's line as it will be an early May trade and his current line of 277/351/615 hovers around career avg)
A.Ramos - (proven above average MLB closer, 72 saves combined 15-16)
I.Suzuki - (just trying to get the guy a chance to win in his last year...PTBNL type value though could very well win a game for you)

                      Requested packages in return:

                      LAD (payroll issues?)
                      Y.Puig - MLB
                      R.Stripling - MLB
                      C.Bellinger - #10 prospect
                      Y.Alvarez - #24 prospect (MLB has #45)
S.Heredia - Lottery ticket (18 yr. old in Rookie ball)

                      CHC (just plain scary)
                      J.Biaz - MLB
                      E.Jimenez - #11 prospect
                      I.Happ - #50 prospect (MLB has #25)
                      J.Candelario - #146 prospect (MLB has #91)
                      J.Paulino - Lottery ticket

                      NYY (payroll issues?)
                      G.Bird - MLB
                      G.Torres - #6 prospect
                      C.Frazier - #26 prospect
                      D.Fowler - MLB ready prospect
C.Adams - Lottery ticket (with a couple winning numbers already on ticket)

                      NYM (interesting on many levels)
                      Z.Wheeler - MLB
                      M.Conforto - MLB
                      A.Rosario - #5 prospect
                      D.Smith - #70 prospect (MLB has #58)
T.Szapucki - Lottery ticket (very projectable)

Teams I eliminated for various reasons...TEX, HOU, CHW, ATL, PHI. I valued Stanton at approx. 100mm surplus and took the current closer market into account. When putting packages together I assumed an open bidding/sellers market and tried to take care as to not hurt the MLB clubs chances of winning over the next 2 years. As I said, I plan to make this my summer baseball project so I want to get this as right as possible. Open to thoughts, feedback or even possible alternatives with other teams.

Pompey alone isn't going to get you much. Robertson is a pretty realistic target. How is he pitching? If he's pitching well maybe Pompey + Pentecost.

The A's are my team and I use them every year, and Hahn is always pretty solid for me. His value to the team is higher than his market value, so your best option is probably to keep him. if he pitches well and you're contending then he's a valuable part of your team. If he pitches well and youre not contending, his trade value will be higher than it is now. If he doesn't pitch well, his value can't really get significantly lower so waiting to make a move would bring the best potential return.

Side note, my only no hitter in The Show was with Hahn at Yankee Stadium (15 I believe)

Edit: not sure if 1.5 has him as a reliever, but in real life he is back in the rotation now

I'll look into it at more depth when I get home tonight, but I don't think you could get those packages. Stanton is still owed like $325 million. I doubt teams want to raid their farm and give you so much in return.

This a mix of trade and advice. In my franchise I'm playing as the white soxs I'm currently leading my division by a few games but only because I've played bad teams lately . I'm looking to trade away the following players and would looking for fairness and realism.

Also the Yankees have the worst record in franchise and I would like to know if you guys think the Yankees would actually blow up the team IRL so I can do that in the game . Or do you think they would just trade their prospects like they've done in the past for example someone like Todd Frazier going to the Yankees . Thanks and sorry for the long post just wanna keep it as realistic as possible

I feel like the Cubs would give that hard consideration. At least if Happ was removed.
