Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Okay so I'm finally at the deadline. 2.5 games out of the wildcard so going to add a reliever as my bullpen has had njruies and struggled.
What would the following cost (only going for one, looking for a general price)
All players listed are on teams out of contention
Neftali Felix - 20 saves, 3.28 era, 1.00 whip
George kontos- 3.17 era, 1.08 whip one more year
Derek law - 3.40 era, 1.58 whip 5 years of team control
Ryan Presley - 3.32 era, 1.27 whip 2 years of team control
Sean Doolittle - 1.60 era, 109 whip

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Been trying to start a franchise but can't keep one going... want to do a semi rebuild and my favorite team is the Mariners but they seem to be a far better video game team than real life team and their contract goals are to win the division and win the pennant.... so I've decide to run with the Chicago White Sox. I want Javier Baez and was wondering if a Jose Quintana, Reynaldo Lopez (66 A potential) and a B prospect would be enough or if I'm giving up too much....

I think a low B, high C prospect would be the appropriate value for a deadline deal.....depends how big your need is for that type of player - gold glove caliber 1st baseman, left handed bat with some popComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Moreland is far from a "replacement player" with a below average bat......the guy has had 3 seasons of 22+ HR as well as a 16 and 15 HR season. He is also a gold glove winner at first base

He's compiled more than 1 WAR only ONCE in his career, and sports a career 99 wRC+ for a 1Bman where there are a lot of good bats. So yeah I stick by my statement of barely replacement level and below average bat.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
How's he pitching? You don't have a ton in prospect capital after your first two (Devers & Groome) so if he's pitching pretty well or the DBacks are competing it will probably be hard to get himComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Feliz is the cheapest and is a high C. Since the ATL farm is so deep, you probably don't even need to touch your top 20.
Everybody else gets exponentially more expensive and (IMO) you have enough farm hands to address bullpen needs in the future, you don't need to spend what it will cost to get controllable arms. Case in point, congratulations to Mr. Newcomb for the early callup yesterday."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

I figured kintxler would be cheapest after Feliz. I went ahead and traded a low b for him, and am now wondering what it would cost for kintzler? 3 arms are on the dl while 2 others have A 5+ era. However I'm still 55-49, 1.4 games back. What would kintzler costWatch me game on Twitch!

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
The Cubs need a starting pitcher now. That's true no matter how their staff is performing in your franchise.
If Tehran is pitching better than 3 of the 5 Cubs starters then maybe him and another pitcher. If the Cubs aren't struggling then it would probably have to be Newcomb. Or Inciarte as they really need a solid CF who can lead off.Comment
