I guess maybe I'm undervaluing Hererra here. I thought he was a free agent after this year but I looked and realized I was incorrect as he's controllable through next year as well. I don't want to be rude at all, but I feel like that might be a bit of a large return for Herrera. He's obviously a very good, very valuable pitcher but I feel like his value might be more on par with the returns for multiple years of Will Smith (decent young MLB talent with upside in Susac and a far away low B prospect in Bickford) or rental Mark Melancon (solid young MLB P in Rivero and far away C prospect in Hearn) than one nearing an Andrew Miller-esque level of return. Do you think like Meyer + Brandon Marsh (B POT A ball prospect) might fit based on that model?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Just read on MLB Trade Rumors that Cubs were interested in Stroman. Looks like the Blue Jays would want a MLB player back in return. What would it likely take? Here are the stats from Stroman and the players I have interest in from the Cubs.
Stroman: 9-7, 3.71 ERA, 1.23 WHIP 104 K, 2.3 WAR in 128.2 IP
Baez: .288/.283/.335 5 HR, 28 RBI, 5 SB, -0.6 WAR in 272 AB
Happ: .248/.306/.400 6 HR, 27 RBI, 2 SB, -0.4 WAR in 145 AB
Schwarber: .273/.386/.486 17 HR, 49 RBI 4 SB, 2.1 WAR in 286 AB
Candelario: .291 with 4 HR, 21 RBI in 199 AB in AAA
I would like to get one of the above players (Preferably Baez/Happ + Candelerio or a pitcher for Stroman + add's if required.)
Thanks!Comment

I am biased because I love watching Stroman pitch and think he'd be awesome in Chicago.
I think you could get Schwarber... it was reported that the Cubs offered him to Detroit before the break. Maybe someone else can do the math to see if you could also get Candelario... sorry I'm busy but top of my head says yes.
I don't think the Cubs are trading Baez.

I am looking at Schwarber + Candelario + Brett Anderson for Stroman. Is this okay?Last edited by BlueJays09; 07-16-2017, 02:03 PM.Comment

They aren't gonna trade two guys off their 25 man and only get one in return.

Also, do the Cubs have Quintana?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
The bluejays don't want junk. No reason to send em a career minor leaguer. Schwarber, Candelario and a legit C prospect would do it, but some might say it's an overpayment.
You should get a second opinion.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
All depends on how high or low you are on both Stroman and Schwarber. Both guys look like they could be studs or duds and at this point the Cubs would be selling low on Schwarber. I'm not sure the Cubs would trade anyone on their 25-man at this point but you never know, I would do Schwarber for Stroman straight up but Schwarber + Candelario + a C pitching prospect wouldn't be crazy.Comment
