Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'd rather dump Heyward anyway possible than have to trade a young player or prospect that is blocked (Happ, Schwarber, Jimenez (Heyward's deal is 7 more years afterall), etc).Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I am debating on what to do with my Oriole franchise for 17. I am choosing between just rolling with the team or just blowing it up and trading everyone not named Machado, Guasman, and Bundy. I want to keep things semi-realistic and send Britton to a contender as logically that would get me the bigger haul but this seems to be a good baseline for a trade. An "A" prospect plus two mid "B" guys.Comment

What should I try to do with my Yankees to make the most of franchise mode to compete? Any trade ideas would be appreciated. ThanksComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Was in the bottom 10 in all offensive categories.. It's mid June and I've decided to make some moves to shake up my roster as the Yankees sitting 2 games out of 1st place;
--Demoted RF A. Judge to AAA who was hitting .188
--Traded a POT B SP and a POT B C to the White Sox (who had already moved C Soto) for LF Melky Cabrera to replace my RF hole.
--Traded CF Hicks (79 OVR POT C Out for the season and will be released by the Dodgers) as well as POT B C Segio Samuels and POT B SP for SP Scott Kazmir who was 3-3 with a 4.50 ERA and his lowest K/9 in his last 4 seasons. (SP Pineda on the DL 2-3 Months, Dodgers call up SP Urias)
Logic;
--The White Sox are 11.5 out of first place and are 16 games under .500. After trading Soto their backup catcher Smith seperated his shoulder and their SS is out for the season with a torn acl.
The 2nd trade might seem a little shaky, my logic is that Grandal is hitting .206 and is a F/A after this season. The Dodgers also free up some $.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
You could try to bolster that rotation as it seems very suspect. See how the outfield is performing and maybe try to make a move if they are underproducing offensively. Headley is going to give you .240-.250 with power that is sub-par for a 3B but you are kind of stuck with him. My middle infield has been very solid and I've gotten a lot of use out of Holiday and Carter.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Realistically Ells is quickly becoming one of if not the worst F/A signing in Yankees history so probably not. The more expendable option would be Gardner. A lot of the Yankees trade pieces would be based on performance in season in my opinion, as a lot of those contracts are unwelcoming especially if they are playing at subpar levels.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Headley is easier to trade with a cheap contract and good glove. I could see Marlins, Gaints, Angels, Seattle (moved to 1B) potentially making moves. I'm a franchise..Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
No one is trading for Ellsbury with a contract for 21 million for next 4 years. You'll have to add a bunch of prospects for someone to eat that contract.

What do you guys think a realistic price would be on Puig to Jays? I see him as a pretty good buy-low candidate and we have gaping hole in the outfield.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Might have to settle for just having the salary dump at that point. Torres or Frazier might be able to net you a mid-level prospect in exchange for Ellsbury, but I think it would just be smarter to get the salary off the books however possible, without thinking about what else you'd get back.-the least famous person you've never heard of.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I started my temporary franchise with the Dodgers and one thing I have never been able to do is pitch with Ryu. I always give up at least 5-6 runs per game with him so I decided to explore some options and ended up going with a deal that would be big for the future of the Dodgers Rotation.
Dodgers Receive:
Lance McCullers
Astros Receive:
Hyun-Jin Ryu
2 Low-Level A Potential Prospects

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'd say a MLB ready, potential 3rd to 5th starter who has the upside of a #2 would be a good place to start. I'd throw out names, but I don't know the Blue Jays farm system or 40 man very well. The Dodgers have a lot of injury-prone or very young starters on their roster, so getting one in return for Puig would be a top priority I'd think."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment
