Game will probably accept a crap trade for him, but realistically theyd never trade him
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers

Is there any MLB talent that has a lot of team control that could bolster my rotation?

Maybe a deal around Joe Ross from WSH?

Probably not. It's counterintuitive for a competing team to add a closer by weakening their MLB rotation

You could get a pitching prospect that's a year or two away but I doubt anyone trades for their rotation for him.

TDoyle made a good suggestion I'm just not sure they have the depth to after dealing away Giolito and Lopez this off-season

Ruiz doesn't have that much value. He's be a throw in part to an Archer deal. Like an Albies/Acuna plus Allard plus something then having Ruiz as the last throw in piece

Agreed, it will take a lot to get Archer. Ruiz would be the 4th or 5th piece in an Archer trade.

Maybe Mets let go of Lugo? Not sure, really aren't many teams coming to mind with a surplus of major league, young arms who might let any of it go to improve their bullpen

I thought of them and Lugo or Gsellman. But Familia is really good and Reed is a legit 8th inning guy. As amazing as Bettances is I wasn't sure if it was a big enough addition to an already good pen for the Mets. I also thought about Conforto but he doesn't fit the pitcher mold bombers wanted

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

I run 2 franchises, one for fun (fair but I don't care much about realism) and another as 'real' as I can get. The real franchise is my O's so in every trade I do for them, I look for feedback to keep me honest. That being said, I need an athletic OF in the worst way. I think J. Marisnick is someone I can target legitimately so...

O's - J. Marisnick (athletic, glove first 4th OF with 2 years of club control left)

Astros - H. Harvey (injury prone SP former 1st round pick #3 in my farm)

Can I get this done? I can add another farm arm on my side if needed. If not...suggestions? I know its not the level of trade we normally talk about but in this scenario, I'm assuming an open bidding market and what other clubs would offer for the player I want. We're getting close to rosters dropping and I'd like to get setup and play 1 game before I have to turn in for the night. Adding a player means I would need to cut/move someone from the MLB roster.

Sticking with the same club, what do you think of Corey Dickerson? We could probably come up with some kind of package built around Ruiz for him.

What's Peter Bourjois look like on the game? I haven't seen his ratings on the game but at least in my head he's an athletic OF who is very available and you wouldn't need to give up anything. He might not be anymore and he's definitely not going to hit a lot

He actually made the Rays opening day roster. That means I would have to tax myself for the trade within the division. I may cry if I have to pay any tax for P. Bourjois. Great suggestion though, that's the kind of direction I'm looking to go in. I have a few little pieces that I think I can turn into someone for the next 2-3 years in a win-now mode.

Pretty sure he gets waived when Rasmus comes off the DL though, so wouldn't cost anything. I guess there is Eric Young Jr, he was always rapid? I think he's in the Angels minors?

There's a good chance Smith gets sent down first.
