Not saying this isn't a placebo or anything, but it seems like the CPU pitchers aren't leaving meat over the plate anymore.

As anyone else seeing decreases in home runs on dynamic difficulty?
Nope that's not it, I only use dynamic difficulty and I hit a lot of homeruns.

I mean. I've thrown multiple no hitters, and two perfect games in the last 2 years of The Show on Hall of Fame, including a no hitter already this year. I'd like to think I'm not terrible at pitching. I've really never given up as many homers as I have this year.

As a competitive player. The way hitting is now and how pitching against a semi decent player seems impossible. I'm on the verge of giving up on this game, until the game is fix.

All star is the culprit. Hall of fame should be the default. But this might be the game we get this year. SDS didn't patch the bunt cheese last year and hardly made gameplay changes thru patch.

Guys that are talking about giving up HRs off the plate, please post videos. I haven't seen this at all in my time with the game, but I've actually wanted things like this to happen. Balls off the plate should be able to be hit hard if a hitter is looking in that location.

Yup, this series has been devoid of solid hits off the plate for its entire 12 year run.

              Re: Too many HR's?

Ya know what's weird? When I first played this game, the first three days... I was destroying basically any pitch and hitting so many HRs. The last week or so, I can't hit anything, let alone get consistent HRs. Honestly, I'm more frustrated about the latter than I am about the former.

I don't know what it is but I've tried switching from 'Zone' to 'Directional' and using different camera angles.. nothing has helped. I am however finding pitching to be successful for me.

                Re: Too many HR's?

I think there are two related but could be separate issues involved in here.

I personally haven't seen unrealistically high number of HRs (it is slightly inflated than real-life HR frequency, but the game has usually been a little HR happy in the past as well), but I have felt there are quite a bit of moonshot HRs (http://www.operationsports.com/forum...nshot-hrs.html).

For those in this thread who are seeing unrealistically long HRs (closer to 500 feet), I'm wondering if you see the same big HRs if you simply turn the Wind slider all the way down to zero.

It's not the best solution, but I think I might be reducing the number of unrealistically long HRs simply by this "remedy" in my games. If this work for you, it might potentially help narrow down the cause.

(Now this is more of a remedy for reducing moonshots though. Inflation of HRs for your own games might be caused by other factors and may be harder to pin down... it's a new game differently tuned from the last year's game, so it's entirely possible you need time to adjust to the new difficulty level and such.)

                  Re: Too many HR's?

Started to get frustrated with the offense both way. I had a 12-8 game on HOF and said that's it. Turned the wind to 0 and have no problems now. I'm not saying they don't need to tweak gameplay but the wind is the main issue.

Yeah HR's have dried up for my RttS player when using Direction Hitting I was on a tear hitting them left and right now I have struggled the last 10+ games even getting a extra base hit.

Really, I'll have to remind myself to save a clip the next time its happened because I have seen this at least 4 times so far this year. Twice with my RttS player and also watched Hanley and Trout do this as well.

Same here..not sure what happened. I havent changed any of my settings and have been using Zone hitting forever and my HR's have been toned down.

Think he's talking more about the distance than the number of hrs., wind blowing out could be the cause of extremely long hrs.

I will begin this by saying that I enjoy this game and all they are trying to do with ball physics but power just has to be toned down. I use zone hitting and I play on legend hitting with default sliders. I pitch on hall of fame with consistency bumped up one notch. I carried my franchise over and have now played 20 games of my franchise on Mlb 17. Since the carryover my Cardinals have hit 72 homers in 20 games and have scored 124 out of 143 runs via the home run. I have added power hitters Pujols, Schwarber and Trumbo to my team (we aren't too good defensively) over the past 2 seasons. I was 12-1 initially after carrying over and after hitting 9 in a game I dropped power and contact one click ( my team batting average raised 8 points in 8 games lol). For a couple of games this seemed to work but last night I hit 7 in a game while the Astros hit 5. Out of the 12 homers 9 were over 450 feet with Luis Valbuena hitting one 486. I don't mind giving up homers on hof and I like hitting homers but dang this game is hot this year. I don't like messing with sliders much but I guess I'll have to bump everything down considerably.
I have hit check swing type home runs with Trumbo and Matt Adams but this may be a kind of glitch. Another example is that Aledmys Diaz has 9 homers through about 95 games and had 8 in my first 13 after carrying over.
Like I said I really enjoy all of the show games and I'd say I'm a decent hitter but dad gum not that good.
