Another thing that I've noticed. After 5 innings that message comes up "would you like to pinch hit for your pitcher" (paraphrasing). My pitcher had a six run lead and good stamina and high confidence.

Is that something that triggers it under the hood for the CPU?????

correct if you were to switch your team to the CPU they would have pinch hit for him...

and yeah more and more people I see on here posting about the CPU pulling closers in the 9th. that NEVER happens in real life unless the closer is in meltown hell even Seattle blew a 7 run lead against the Angels and left in Diaz.

I just had CC against me go 7 innings in a 2-2 game, mind you his pinch count was not that high... and it was 2-0 until that 7th innings it's really strange randomly sometimes you will get a decent thing happen but sadly not enough times.

Would make sense that that could be what's happening and that's why I brought up double switches and the differences between AL and NL.

If it triggers a prompt for the user it's not a large stretch to think that in instances when the user gets that prompt the CPU is just pinch hitting in that situation.

I didn't have that problem last year .. this year however because of the pitching match ups AI Logic new thing about lefty on lefty it changes everything... actually I don't even know why we have to have a Closer as a position they should all be just RP, especially if the CPU does this anyway. I guess they have the CP for all star voting reasons.

I just came across something else too guys that I am not sure is mentioned..... you notice how if a pitcher gets taken out in the 4th or 5th innings the CPU always brings in the LR guy???? who usually is a spot starter your Adam warren type players... I really wonder if this has something to do with it too, because when they are brought on they are always brought on if the CPU pulls the starter before the 5th then that LR goes about 3 innings.

Anyone ever thought of moving all your LR guys to middle relief pitchers>?? I just wonder if this could be one of the issues, that the CPU sees a LR guy with full stamina and thinks they should be used.

I am gonna test my theory now I think this might be it, don't have anyone in your LR pitching spot in the depth chart, I got this funny feeling the CPU looks at the LR on the chart in the 4th or 5th innings, and sees them at full stamina and thinks they need to come on for 3 innings of relief. so therefore if there is NO player in that slot, it won't find any player at all and keep your starter in the game, their maybe a code that makes it look at the LR

I just started my keeper LAD franchise and I'm going to be keeping track of the first 10-15 games or so.

Game 1 saw SD remove Collin Rea after 3.0 IP in a 0-0 game @ 70 pitches to bring in a LHP LR to face Joc Pederson.

Given the 0-0 score and the pitch count, 3.0 IP seemed like an unreasonably quick hook, but I'll keep accumulating data.

FYI, I'm using QC and no stamina edits, though I do have CPU SP Stamina at 6, RP Stamina at 0 and Manager Hook at 3, per an earlier post in the thread.

More data as I play more games...

No, but wasn't really keying on that. That's why i'd like to see his results. The common thing I saw was pulling the pitcher when a team had scored no runs in the five innings. Also the comment i made about the message my team gets to pinch hit in the 5th inning (wondering if this is also keying the cpu to pull their pitcher)

using no LRP will cut down a bit on IP by the LRP. the second set-up man will receive less GP chances. I chop the LRP stamina in half and if you follow my post ideas, I have gotten great results. to each their own. enjoy and have fun

I tested random teams. Look at other box scores in your franchise. Where pitchers were pulled at 5 innings did that pitchers team have no runs?
