Never noticed the jersey thing til this thread, we all have our pet peeves for me its the pitcher blowing on his hands at Rogers Centre when the roof is closed(its not that cold up here people) it drives me nuts, for others its the kind of red used in jerseys.

People kept bringing up rain delays year after year and we got them so people should keep bringing up the color of the Sox red jersey & at some point they'll change it.

I liked last weeks stream better than this week. Nothing on the stream really got me excited and they kept mentioning DD and RTTS but nothing about Franchise. I'm going into the Franchise stream next month not really expecting anything.

I remember Ramone saying Road to the Show would be the focus for the next three years (he said this before 17 came out). Like how DD had been the focus the three years before that. I guess three years is sort of the work flow to implement major changes. He basically hinted that after road to the show that Franchise would be the next mode to get a major overhaul so you probably won't see a ton for franchise until MLB 20/21/22. I expect that'll be the time when we start seeing features like expansion teams and maybe create a stadium.

You have every right to complain in a constructive matter. The horse doesn't need to be continually beat in threads that aren't focused on the complaint you have, though.

I didn’t even post about the red initially. Someone else brought it up in a way that seemed condescending towards those of us who want the colors remedied. I took offense to that. The rest of it was largely people jumping in to bash us red purists for our wants. I’m mostly over it lol. I just don’t like when people attack someone’s complaint or act as if their want/don’t want is more important than someone else’s. I think we all want the game to be great.

What's the significance of the 81 Expos team specifically? I prefer the look of the 94 Expos jerseys myself (and selfishly would have preferred those to make the game) but I feel like they chose the 81 jerseys for a reason.

I'm not a fan of locking the name plate/avatar things behind DD. I was just want my teams logo on my nameplate but not everyone is a DD player and I'm not so I guess I just won't be unlocking that name plate. I'd prefer if you can just earn stubs anyway you want and you'd have to purchase the name plates with the stubs.

I was hoping this was the reason for the rain delay change. Disappointing, would've been a welcomed addition.

Baby steps lol. Maybe they just went with delays to see how it plays and/or they couldn't nail down double headers so rather then disrupt the game, they decided to just skip double headers till 19. Heres to hoping

One thing I liked about this stream is that when Nick is playing and showing off the new hitting cameras, there is a time when he has men on first and second. A pitch bounces off the catcher and gets away and the runners don't advance because they would most likely be thrown out because the catcher got to the ball quickly.

Last year the minute the ball bounced away the runners would've been going.

So happy to see that worked on.


Also the new strikezone batting cameras remind me of the old World Series games' batting camera.

I had the same thought about the new cameras and World Series baseball lol. They're interesting but I doubt I'd use them unless I'm working on something very specific.

The feature I want elaborated on the most is situational home run swings. If it's compatible with signature home run animations, it'll be amazing. If it's just a set of generic animations that take the place of personalized ones in high leverage situations, it'll ruin the game.

Hopefully it's not like when they added the quick pitch feature that turned out to just be "change all pitchers' deliveries to "generic 1" for one pitch."

Also, surprised not to see any praise for Bryce Harper finally looking the part. He looks great.

Another good tidbit from the stream was when Ramone was talking about how they worked to make fielders, different. So that elite fielders would stand out more than good fielders and so on.

I get that it's probably hard to implement it, but doing a simple cutscene (that I'm sure we'll be as tired of as the coach after a home run) with a lame "do you want to switch pitchers" selection screen just makes it look like they checked a box (like with replay). It looks half baked and just something they can include in promotional materials.

Mlb 2k had rainouts and double headers at least as early as 07. That's 11 years ago. They can do it.

I liked what Ramone said about foul tips, "if you miss the pci you miss the ball" but when Nick got jammed he flared the ball to the first baseman. Hoping that was isolated and not indicative of the flare-fest we had last year.

I liked seeing the catcher use what looked like new ways to catch the pitch.

The batting stance creator looked cool and will be good for when someone's stance isn't quite right.

New uniforms looked good, would have liked to see the 1926 Cardinals instead (I don't think they have those do they?) because those were the first uniforms (1922 specifically but same design) that had the iconic birds on the bat.

Some of the outfield throws were new so that is nice.

There was a hit where I think it was Tapia (I know it was a lefty anyway) used a one handed swing and sliced across the ball and the ball actually started sort of at the center fielder and floated and tailed away and landed between the he and the left fielder. I never, the whole year last year, saw a ball behave that way. The corner slices were good but in the middle of the field it was much less pronounced. But after watching Matt Holliday hit DK banana boomerangs into the gaps for years that was a hit style that I felt was lacking, I will be glad if I see it on occasion.

The practice mode is awesome because I'm constantly trying out guys' swings so this will be perfect.

Overall it was encouraging. Things are lacking, no doubt. Things I feel they should be more up to speed on. But as is evidenced by the things they have been working on, it's all a matter of creative opinion. Would I do it differently? Yes. But they are at least working to make the game play better despite DD making them the most money. And for that I am happy.
