Yeah I seriously hope they don't use the stats for time used that we see on our universal profiles online, as mine is also hilariously badly off. I apparently only played DD for 7 hours, so I did pretty well to complete all the collections and rack up over 400 online games. My franchise figure of 17 hours is also probably at least 100 hours off.

Yup pretty amazing. I am beast. I played 764 of franchise mode in 12 hours. Didn't win or loose any of them but went 9-1. Those numbers look legit.

I'm currently finishing up my 25th year of MLB service as a starting pitcher and have played through every single regular season start. Yeah, I think these figures are a little off.
It appears the web site is just not set up to display days. Here is what I see in both places for my profile.
DD (Shown on PS4) - 6 days, 21 hours and 55 minutes
DD (Shown on Web) - 21 hours and 55 minutes
RTTS (Shown on PS4) - 2 days, 2 hours and 11 minutes
RTTS (Shown on Web) - 2 hours and 11 minutes
As you can see the Web just does not show days for some reason.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 GameStop Monday - RTTS
As far as I know my profile as shown on the PS4 when I show my online profile is correct. The web site is definitely wrong. I don't think it counts days so when you pass 23 hours and 59 minutes in a mode then it resets to 0:00
And just because SDS tells us the stats of the number of games played we have no idea what metric they actually use internally. It could be games, it could be hours, it could be the amount of stubs spent on the mode. Who knows.
At any rate on the "official" website I sent a pm to the moderator victor to figure out why I can't post in the forums and he replied I haven't played the game enough and said "it isn't hard to get enough time". Now I'm thinking maybe they look at trophies since I played hundreds of hours but had no trophies - and I wonder in manage mode whether you get credit for trophies. Maybe offline franchise as well.
It's not an issue of being able to post on the official forum because this forum is perfectly fine but might explain why they don't think people play franchise and therefore why they tend to give it so little attention compared to other modes.
Who knows? Thanks for the replies, interesting discussion.Last edited by tessl; 03-18-2018, 01:23 PM.≡Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 GameStop Monday - RTTS
There is definitely something wrong with the show nation servers in terms of logging how much time we have played. Not only have I played about half a dozen MoM Season games in the last week using MLB 17, but I also now have three RTTS games under my belt and yet none of this activity shows up.
BTW I am having fun with RTTS as I am a pitcher drafted by the Pirates playing on their Double A team and I even got to hit in the last game I played. But as much as I like what SDS has done to RTTS for MLB 18 in terms of removing the training points and capping certain skills based on your archetype, I am not sure I will even want to play the mode if I cannot play the entire game. In MLB 16 RTTS I can head to the dugout and watch my team bat (as well as bat when it's my turn), but if I am not mistaken SDS purposely removed this capability. I guess in their eyes a baseball game should not take more than a couple of minutes to play and if it takes any longer than this, then you are clearly not playing the game the way they want you to play.
But fear not, I can still play MLB 16 RTTS the way I like to play it regardless of what SDS thinks.Last edited by My993C2; 03-18-2018, 01:53 PM.Comment

So if the PS4 profile showed 2 days 15 hours and 30 minutes then the Show Nation site would just show 15 hours and 30 minutes.
I confirmed this on my profile a few days back.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 GameStop Monday - RTTS
So yesterday I created a new RTTS starting pitcher in MLB 17 with the intentions of carrying over this player when MLB 18 is released and the reason why I did this now is because I loaded up a OSFM roster from the 2017 season so that my minor leaguers would be based on real world players versus fictional players if I started new in MLB 18.
I have played a couple of games already with my RTTS pitcher and using the training points gained in those games improving some of his skills. Presently he only has 3 pitch types. The 4 seam fastball, a change up and a slider. Now my pitcher had acceptable control of his fastball and his change up right out of the box against the Double A batters he faces. But the slider was horrible. So I did spend a number of training points improving it and while it is still not where I would like it to be, at least I have some control of it versus when I first started with it.
Now I do need to decide what sort of pitcher he will be in MLB 18. I am on the fence of making him either a control freak versus the pitcher with the dirty stuff. In either case there is no point in spending any more of the MLB 17 training points I may earn between now and release day on his 4 seam fastball speed as he is already at the velocity cap of 70. But the real question I have is should I spend the training points on adding a new 4th pitch now or should I be improving his slider or control/break of his other pitches? I figure all his other non pitch attributes can be improved with MLB 18 RTTS games, so the training points I earn now should go towards pitching attributes. However one thing I don't think the SDS DEV talked about in the RTTS stream was how pitch types would be added and/or improved on in MLB 18. Or did I miss something in the streams?
I am planning on having two RTTS save files in MLB 17 on release day. One will have enough training points to add a 4th pitch type while the other save file will have already added the 4th pitch. This way I can see what happens when the pitcher gets carried over. But does anyone have any idea ahead of release day on how pitch types and their respective attributes will be handled in MLB 18? Or will we just have to wait and see?Last edited by My993C2; 03-19-2018, 09:39 AM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 GameStop Monday - RTTS
It was really nice in the past to see the whole game, especially in key moments of the season. It also promotes more attachment with your teammates which is a big point on a my-career mode. Now i don't know anything about my teammates and basically you play on your own like a freaking robot. It's like every year they want you to play as fast as possible. I'm not even asking for new stuff, just don't cut off things from the game and then claim that only 1% of the players used that option. It's a slap in the face.Comment
