I'm gonna ask that neither of you respond to each other again in this thread.

The whole telling people how they can feel or whatever version of that, that keeps happening needs to stop.

If he wasn't so hell-bent on quoting every post I make I wouldn't need to. His response you quoted had nothing to do with viewpoints. I made a post agreeing with someone and he just had to rehash his same viewpoint schtick again.

I don't care who stated what, who escalated it, and who's side you're on.

All this stuff, all this bickering stops now.

                LET IT GO.

This is the final forum wide warning for everyone.

I don't want to ban anyone but at this point that's what's gonna happen if this doesn't stop.

And this is directed at everyone.

Re: MLB The Show 18 GameStop Monday - RTTS

I know the devs released an image a few weeks ago (I think) regarding the modes most played and that DD and RTTS were far more popular modes than any other modes. However, the image they released was for last year's game, I assume.

Another point made in this thread was that, of course DD and rtts are most played, because those are the modes that have gotten the most attention and updates in each iteration. It's natural for those modes that get the most developer attention to get the most playing time from the client base.

However, the point of my post is, wouldn't it be better to show that same graphic with the information about game mode popularity from maybe 5 or 6 years ago, when franchise mode was getting attention? In other words, wouldn't it be interesting to see which game mode was the most popular game mode played when franchise mode and DD and rtts were all getting similar development attention and updates on a yearly basis? If DD and rtts were still substantially more popular then franchise when franchise was getting regular updates, then I could see them focusing more attention on those modes. However, I'm willing to bet that the popularity was a lot closer when each game mode was getting equal attention by the devs.

All of us franchise users should just click on start new franchise 400 times a day then we can raise our ratings for it as most used LOL

Yeah I would be surprised if it wasn't DD.

DD not only brought in a new audience of gamers, but it also gave long time Show supporters a new way to play the game. And given its rapid expansion, and the numbers posted by SDS, I would say it was hit amongst new and old fans alike.

As for complaining about other modes getting all the oxygen, the developers did this to themselves. The only major development in the mode since I've been playing on PS4 has been carry-over saves, which is just as useful to RTTS players as it is to Franchise. They've completely rebuilt other modes and centered their business model around them. They've been very vocal and proud of their efforts, leaving Franchise largely untouched in the process. I don't think it's unfair to point that out on a day a good chunk of OS'ers were expecting some news about Franchise mode only to get a video about....another one of those modes.

The sad reality is those of us who play Franchise mode have been all too content to play a mode that has languished behind some of the others. That, to use your words, "we knew they weren't going to revolutionize franchise this year" and yet we're hoping for some news that they've done something to it over the past 9 months is the dilemma we find ourselves in. It's not a bad game and baseball is a great sport; it's just that they're not giving people much reason to buy it each year at this rate. I find myself in the unusual position, as a baseball fanatic that bought a PS4 console basically so I could play this game, of probably not buying it this time. Never thought that would happen; this game has gone from a console-mover to a maybe.

I really couldn't care less about the developers being transparent over which modes are being played the most/least, when that same rationalization is constantly used as a wedge against why they didn't do more with your favorite mode year-in and year-out. Good for them, I guess. Making those sound business decisions. As a consumer who enjoys Franchise mode, their data doesn't help me any.
                        Perfectly said...couldn't agree more!

They actually could go by time spent in each mode. They have to have that info since it is part of our universal profile.

Back to RTTS, I had a realization that the new advancement system should have one advantage.... Players can't sabotage themselves. You regularly see players who complain that they are still in the minors or riding the bench in the majors in spite of stellar stats. In most cases it is because they allocated points unwisely, ignoring all fielding stats in favor of batting stats or upping their pitch quality without ever spending points in the per 9 ratings. The new system auto allocating the points for advancement should help eliminate that issue.

To my understanding, an older graphic would look very similar.

its basically a self-fulfilling prophecy. They ignore franchise mode for years, give it small tweaks (nothing meaningful, really) and then tell us that no one plays the mode, so why give it any updates? there's clearly a market for an in-depth franchise mode (look at the strength of OOTP).

My requests for franchise are super simple but I understand why they dedicate more time to RTTS and DD. It's a business and those are their money-makers.

I think it may be a little bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy but not so much that Franchise would ever leapfrog DD or RTTS.

As for Out of The Park baseball are we even sure what kind of sales it does year by year. Or how its player numbers compare to MLB Franchise? I have often wondered why more franchise guys don't migrate over and the only reason I can come up with is that they either want the graphics or want to bat and pitch themselves.
