Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
I'm carrying over my powerful first baseman I started in MLB 16. In my 4th year. I would like to play this career to completion.
Thinking about going a different route this time for a new player. I always do power type players. Thinking of doing a speedy outfielder this time around. Not sure if I want to make a pitcher.

Really wish sports games played to ratings!

MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
I am definitely making an outfielder this year with the added cone to aide in the fielding.
I have not dived into RttS since the PS3, and not really played much of The Show this gen. Bought 14 and 16, but just dabbled in quick games. Not anything against The Show, I was on a gaming hiatus all around. Feels good to be back, and all the changes to what was my favorite mode, are going to feel insanely fresh to me!
Few more days!
I'll probably spend 80% in RTTS and 20 in a franchise...Last edited by Skyboxer; 03-20-2018, 01:17 PM.Joshua:

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Somebody in another thread asked about carryover equipment and one of the Devs said yes. So that probably means whatever you have equipped will become whatever the new equipment version is but will have no added points. Right now i have the Trouts on my player so they will probably become the new Trouts once I load into 18.Red soxComment

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
That is pretty much how it used to be in the past for me with those percentages. I always wanted to make an outfielder, but never enjoyed tracking to the ball, so I was always playing infield or pitching. Stoked to finally play an outfielder!Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Also I highly recommend to anyone starting a new career this year to recorded at the end of each season all your season stats in a spreadsheet. Very rewarding.

Here is mine of my carryover CF
If I could do it again I would keep track of certain seasonal only stats like BA @ home/away and vs Rhp/Lhp/Risp . But I didn't start it till about my 3rd year. Obivously those would be hard to keep track of for minor leaguers as you could get called up and then not have access to those on the statistics page. But it's still worth while imo. Especially for the postseason stats.

Nevermind. I was looking at the bottom of the sheet. That was Postseason.Comment

Oh nah you must be looking at the post season stats. His 2019 regular season stats are up above. I've actually never been injuried for any long length of time.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
A few years ago unless I'm crazy (PS3 version probably) you could use the RS to keep eye on ball to track it while using LS to move player...
It was either that or camera just stayed on the ball... one of the 2.
I loved that and made playing OF so much better... and more realistic to me.
Wish that was back.Last edited by Skyboxer; 03-20-2018, 08:24 PM.Joshua:

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
I got called up to AAA this evening with my MLB 17 RTTS pitcher that I recently created and that I plan on transferring over into MLB 18. Not only did I dial up the pitching difficulty to HOF and began using Armor & Swords slider recommendations, but I also went 100% clean screen with the Classic pitching type and I love the clean screen.
So far my pitcher has done very well in his three AAA games. He is 2-0 with an ERA of 2.08 oh and he went from a last place AA team with poor run support to a very competitive AAA who can score runs. So that helps at least with the wins and losses. Perhaps I am jinxing myself as I thought AAA would be harder especially at HOF pitching. But I did start off with a decent 94 mph 4 seam fastball, my change up has always been good since day one in AA and I pumped a lot of training points into his slider control and recently added a 12-6 curve with training points added to it as well. So I am usually working ahead in the count. However I am sure I would get slaughtered in The Show if I was to go there right now and who knows what MLB 18 will be like except to say I like what was presented in the DEV stream.Comment
