the fact MLB includes those last names as commentary names made me so happy when I created him in 16. it's a nice cultural reference for MLB to do that I'm sure a lot of people actually use haha

        Sounds like a new bug.

I am in my 5th season overall, entering my 4th MLB season. I was a 90OVR heading in. I had 80 contact and power both sides. I brought him over at the very start of the season, So I had no stats, but in the most previous year I hit .327/31hr/104rbi.

Okay, good to know. Another question. Did you load from the cloud and then save the file, before simming to the next day?

            Quick questions:

Did you Load the 17 save from the Cloud?

Did you save in 18 before simming/playing next appearance?

If yes to both, try loading from the Cloud and simming before saving in 18 and let me know if that works...

Woodweaver ... I know you are here to diagnose the bug. But I wanted you to know that I had an awesome experience last night playing as a RTTS short stop in the prospects game where luckily I was the 3rd batter of the home team and as soon as my plate experience ended the "O - Watch Game" button was rendered and I was able to play entire game in the field for all defensive pitches, then be in the dugout watching my teammates bat, or at the plate trying to get on base or luckily I got on base 2 out of the 4 attempts for every single offensive pitch in the entire 9 inning game. But for the life of me I cannot understand why we can't start the game like this. Why do we need to wait for our first plate appearance before we get to actually play the game the way real baseball is played and not these hyper fast sub 5 minute games. If you can't add this feature in the MLB 18 game I understand how release cycles work (I am a developer myself). But this is something that needs to be addressed next year. Come on this should not be hard to change. You have the potential to create such an awesome simulated baseball experience. Why are you guys hiding it? You should be show casing it. If someone wants to play a 5 minute game and cruise through their entire MLB RTTS career in a month then fine, let them do it. But some of us like playing the game the way it is played in the real world. There is no clock in baseball.

Probably a design decision. Default settings are revisited every year and usually reflect logic and telemetry data.

I don't want to tick you off. I think you are a good guy. But we both know this is a easy code change. Render the "O - Watch Game" button at the same time the starting pitcher is being introduced. It's no different than all the other times your game renders the button in your presentations between plays. I am sure one of your developers who knows the code can fix it in day likely less time than a day. Just kidding here, but you could send me the small snippets of code that handles this and I'll fix it for you free of charge ... LOL ... maybe I'm not kidding though it would take me longer to fix it. It's written in C++ right? I have years and years of experience reading and changing other people's code.

But I'll back down now. I am just in a snarly mood. Have a good weekend.

Changing code isn't the issue. It's changing minds. [emoji3]

Am I the only one that is driver. Absolutely INSANE over the way you lose your jersey number from time to time? I know it may be nothing to some, but it makes me not even want to play RTTS. Especially since it's been an issue for years and years and they never fix it. Just created a player... #11... just two weeks in... now #12.

It's so stupid especially considering we see the back of the player frequently. Is there any way to fix this? I'm done with RTTS until it's fixed.

So, is there a fix if we do transfer over and it mess up our ratings? or should I hold off on converting my guy over from 17?

As per my usual yearly tradition, I created my new day one RttS player. I follow my own personal baseball journey, creating a first baseman.

I tore it up in the drills and scouting showcase, hitting over .800 with 1 HR and 4 RBI, using the archetype of Power Corner. It resulted in my being drafted with the 12th pick of the 25th round of the draft by the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

I have been assigned to the AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League.

                              For now....

Reload from the 17 file and sim one day/play next appearance. Do not save or edit your player until you set your archetype should happen immediately upon swimming.

I can relate. I am responsible for a Commercial Auto Insurance application that generates hundreds of millions in revenue to the company in annual premiums, and I have the same problem. I am sure you and I could sit down over some beers and share some funny DEV stories.
