I saw the same thing any time I would critique the EA NHL series. I would comment that the goalies didn't properly play the puck, and the AI didn't know how to cover their man on defense and get told "Well nothing's perfect". That's fine. I don't want perfect. I want some relatively basic issues to be fixed.
Ten days ago I posted that I wasn’t buying the game. I was frustrated about the lack of additions to franchise and the removal of Season mode. However, I relented and went ahead anyway preordering it shortly before release. I’m glad I did because what I was annoyed about is far exceeded by what I love about the game. Sure, I could have dug my heels in and stopped myself from enjoying what is actually another great edition of the game on the basis of what’s missing but I allowed myself to enjoy it by putting those complaints aside. That was my point, as I’ve already explained in the first follow up post. My complaints were legit as are others posted in this thread, but my rcommendation is not to let a few issues spoil what is otherwise a great game. No game is perfect and if I was waiting for perfection then I’d have no games to play.

Love the overall game but do not like the archtypes in RTTS mode. I worked hard the last 4 years to make my 5 tool player good in every category and now I to sacrifice some of his skills because of cap limits on traits? This sucks!!!

Really?.. I’ve attempted 6 sacrifice bunts so far, 4 were double plays, one just the put at second and one successful (bunting the guy from 2nd to 3rd)

I have laid down 3 bunts so far (only played four games) and have been successful each time in moving the runner over. With that being said, I have Kolten Wong batting in the eight spot and he has decent speed.

He I have Wong hitting 8th as well!

But I've bunted over Stephen Vogt, Matt Carpenter, and Kolten Wong.

Here's my first impressions...The game is an absolute joke online. I don't know who it's catered to but it's certainly not baseball fans. Specifically Battle Royale mode in Diamond Dynasty. Not sure if the difficulty is rookie or vet but the PCI is about the size of a house. The pitch speed . I can basically walk to my bathroom and back before a FASTBALL is delivered. Had a ton of fun putting up 13 runs in 2 innings. This is what competitive video game baseball is all about! Glad they removed online franchise. Who needs to play in a competitive sim league with custom settings/sliders and increased difficulty in hitting/pitching when we can play online batting practice for 3 innings vs Joe Random!

I'm not asking for perfection, I'm asking for progress. Which this game clearly no longer seems to put a focus on like they have in the past. By accepting mediocrity because "nothing can be perfect" you are accepting it to be mediocre. And I dont believe that fixing glaring glitches (many that were part of the game last year like the roster glitch or the fudged up previous season stats for relievers during franchise games) or adding improvements to game modes that have been stagnant for years is asking for perfection.

I thought it said somewhere that as your online rating goes up so does the hitting and pitching difficulties in the games you play?

I've had several appeals, and had one called a strike. I'm really pleased with the check swing mechanic, which works better with buttons than I would have imagined.

First, the difficulty level is All-Star. Second, the slow pitch speed you see when you pitch is not the same when you bat. It's designed to allow the hitter to bat without lag, and it works damn well.

All-star may be too easy for you, but also, this is the first week of gameplay. You are going to run into many guys that have not really figured the game out playing online. That will end soon enough.

One thing that I meant to post about last night was the crowd reaction on deep fly balls. Twice in my game with the Padres last night, Matt Carpenter doubled (one bounced off the top of the wall and the other hit just outside the warning track and hopped over the wall)

In both hits, the crowd started getting excited as the outfielder carried further and further towards the wall trying to make a play. They were standing and waving their arms. In the case of bouncing off the wall, you could almost hear/feel their disappointment that the ball didn't make it out the park. The ground rule double they continually cheered.

It's these "little" improvements that go a long way in providing an atmosphere that pulls you into the game.

                          Well done SDS...

I agree. One thing I'd like them to add (which kind of is there), is how the crowd lives and dies with every pitch in a big game/playoff game. Like on a big pitch that results in a strikeout, the crowd should roar.

First off visually the game is simply beautiful, playing on a reg ps4, man the colors really POP!!
Playing as the Nats home agaist the Reds in a carry ovver save, I could not believe how much better the game looks, Nats red alt & the Reds jerseys just looked great. Secondly I have always been a fan of the gameplay but the improved hit variety just feels right on the nose this year. The ball coming off the bat just feels right and the fielding is smooth as ever(btw I use auto fielding). I know there will be some patches to clean up some things but I am happy with the upgrade from 17.

I've seen players do this constantly. The 2015 Royals did it nearly every time they got a hit. They'd point back to the dugout and do some motion almost constantly.

It's done by nearly every team now and I've yet to see someone get hit by a pitch because of it.
