I'm still playing MLB 16 , after reading this last page I guess it's time to upgrade to 18.

I played a full 162 game season in 16, plus playoffs and loved it. (I played 17 for a while snd ended up shelving it - which is unlike me.) Been playing 18 since launch and it, to me, makes 16 seem inferior. 18 is my favorite version ever. I am loving it, so i recommend you upgrade asap.

This is why I love baseball/The Show:

Alex Cobb vs Carlos Martinez. Everyone is thinking that runs are going to come at a premium right?

          Score after the first inning:

          Cubs - 5
          Cardinals - 4

          8 hits in the inning.

          Baseball...ain't it grand?!

EDIT: Next inning, 6 up 6 down on six strikeouts...

I'd recommend it. I redboxed Madden and put the show back on after about a half of one game.

Re: MLB The Show 18 First Impressions

As much as I love this game and sing its praises on here daily, I just had my first game where I questioned the integrity of the AI.

I'm playing the Phillies who are streaking, they've won maybe 8 of 10. I don't mind losing games and I lost the first two against them. The third is a back and forth, but I take the lead 6-5 in the bottom of the 8th.

I bring in 99 rated Kenley Jansen to close it out.

Without getting a single out, he gives up a home run, a triple and four runs to kill the game for me.

It all just seemed a bit contrived.

After playing through spring training and almost 60 games in the reg. season, I've lost some close ones and been blown out as well as winning here and there. This one just didn't feel right even though I'm comfortable with the fact they clearly would be aggressive falling behind late in the game. I'm sure the game is totally fair, but it didn't feel that way.

I probably needed a few days break anyway...

                **UPDATE**
I won my next game and thoroughly enjoyed it so I'm back to fully loving The Show again. I can excuse one weird ending to a game out of over 80.

Well he did give up 3ER in a game to Zona early in the season. It happens every once in a while.

I buy Madden every year ( I don't know why). Played Madden 18 one season went back to The Show. this year bought 19, played one game and then went back to The Show.

Re: MLB The Show 18 First Impressions

These are actually ongoing impressions as I'm in September of my first franchise season.

Bullpen should NEVER be locked. That's just stupid.

If you don't schedule a pitcher to go in, you are sometimes stuck with a pinch hitter pitching to the first batter. Either that, or you can't make the change after the first notification that a position player is on the mound and you have to go back in a second time to bring the reliever in.

WAY too many sloppy relay throws and wild pitches. Never seen such shizz even at minor league games.

And why can't a pinch hitter be scheduled so he can bee seen in the on deck circle?

MLB 19 they have got to get the regular broadcast camera when fielding and baserunning in Road to the Show.

I might be one of the few who hate the perspective camera angle. Really limits what you can see when you're running the base. I just would like to have that option, period.

After seeing the streams I thought I sit out this year and will see what mlb 19 the show has to offer. I didn't like archetype and how the progression is in rtts, in franchise mode I thought the did only the main pages not a big deal. I have to say franchise mode is really good, yes SDS could make it easier to play two way pitcher in AL. Rtts I didn't touch at all. Have a look tomorrow, overall it feels better than 17.

I threw a balk last night - my first in well over 100 games this season.

You committed a balk. Throwing has nothing to do with balking.

Haha in all seriousness, the first time that I balked in this game a few years back by going through my set-delivery sequence too quickly, I immediately shut them off. Just wasn't worth the realism aspect for me in that case.

Pardon my grammar Oddly, I was ecstatic when it happened because seeing something 100 games in that I haven't seen before is evidence of how awesome this game is.
