Same here. I don't have anything against MS or the Xbox but I prefer the Sony exclusives to that of MS.

And of course you have to have Nintendo.

Okay, it just happened in my game this time. Down 10-5 in the 9th inning with two outs, and I was able to go without a throw or any coverage. The game also didn't give me a stolen base. That was nice to see.

Don't know why it didn't happen in that other game though.

I'm with you guys. I prefer Sony's exclusives and just about everything on One comes out on PC anyway. Plus got to have an MLB game to play!

Anyone else have bad framerate issues playing at Toronto, Astros, and braves? Mainly Atlanta want to start a franchise with them but the framerate is so bad there I can’t. Playing on balanced

I play on Faster with the Pro and only experience sub-60 FPS framerates with the pitching meter at times. Everything else is nearly 60 all the time.

Twice in two games (30 games into my franchise season), the CPU has asked if I wanted to pinch hit for my relief pitcher late in the game. I've said yes but after picking my pinch hitter and accessing the bullpen menu to warm up my new pitcher the dialog box has instead asked me if I'd like to replace my injured pitcher instead. When this happened the first time I figured it was just a weird one-off glitch, but twice in two games is unusual. I've played over 60 games so far and not seen it happen.

Re: MLB The Show 18 First Impressions

Really enjoying this years game. Most fun I have had with any baseball game ever to be frank.

Of course now that I have played well over 150 plus franchise games there are some small details that I would love to see implemented for next years game.

                  1) Full replay system used in today's MLB - I think being authentic is very important to SDS and replay is part of that equation. I hope they can make this system a focus for next years game.

                  2) Ejections - Ejections and suspensions are a huge part of the drama over the course of a season. I think having a temperament system for all players would be really cool. Also the ability for a manager to argue a call etc.

                  3) Full minor league stat tracking (career minor league stats).

                  4) Editable managers and coaches

                  5) Customization suite for Franchise players or introduce a single season mode that has full editing abilities where we can create our own divisions (Classic roster season replay I am talking here) eliminate the Wild Card, you know where I am going with this.

                  6) international free agents, non roster spring training invitees

                  7) Catcher intelligence system in calling games and expanding the API to have chemistry with pitchers etc.

So yeah wish-list crap....but what the hell. I really like the phases this cycle and that is a start. Keep building off the new UI, also keep building on player personalities, improve the Morale system and quirks system. I have fun with it....but there is far more potential.

Gameplay was a huge focus for 18 and it shows. The game plays fantastic. Still can use some improvement on legacy issues of course....but wow. So happy with gameplay guys.

Lot's of baseball left. I will be playing 18 right up to 19's release as usual. Thanks for a fantastic game this year and can't wait to see what you have in store for us for 19.

Re: MLB The Show 18 First Impressions

Agreed 100% A&S that this is easily the best baseball game I've ever played. On the field it is absolutely phenomenal.

While I agree with your "wish list" items, the biggest to me are #4 and #6. Really, really, really, really, really want managers/coaches to be editable and to also have more impact on the game other than being a face/name in the dugout and a +/- to four attributes. Give them tendencies, give them a personality and for the love of the baseball Gods, please stop making them wear jackets in the middle of August!!!!!!!

Also really want International prospects to be removed from the draft and put into a pool, where pool money is used. Then of course the ability to trade international bonus pool money.

And non roster invites would be great for ST, but one thing hopefully they do in connection with adding this feature is increasing the total rosters to at the bare minimum 125 players.

The thing I love most about this game is how invested in my guys I feel because the game is that realistic. Cody Bellinger was going through a 1-15 stretch and when he came to the plate I was thinking "come on Cody, I want to see you get a hit here so bad". Considering there's no social media element to the franchise mode and only limited feedback as to how a player is responding to his performance, the game is good enough that I can fill the void by virtue of just how realistic the game feels and performs that it pulls me in like real baseball does.

Still a great game. But I'm annoyed with the Daily rosters stats being all messed up or updated. They are terrible at this.

I love this game. Honestly one of, if not the, best of the series.

That being said, this new budget system is enough to drive a guy to drink! Jeez!!

I have tried 3 times to get thru the off season and have yet to sign everybody without running out of money. Those on here know me, I am not an idiot, I understand the concept behind it. I understand the math etc. But for supposedly trying to make the game more approachable to new users, which I am not I have been playing since 07, they sure screwed the pooch here. You have to constantly switch between 5 screens every day you advance to find out who signed or if they did, lord help you if you have to sign coaches add 3 more screens. Its absolutely ridiculous! I have had a great season and was looking forward to year 2 but dam this fiasco sucked the wind out of my sails. I want to play a franchise, not spend the day with spreadsheets and a calculator so I can figure out my budget. If I wanted to be a CPA for a MLB team I would have spent more time in University.

Im actually downloading '16 in a fit of rage quit tonight. LOL

I didn't like the budget last year and didn't mess with it since I didn't play '17. I wasn't thrilled about dealing with the change this year, but got through my offseason just fine and honestly, I like it better than the old system. Yes, its cumbersome that it won't just tell you your remaining budget in the offseason like it does during the season, but you can figure it up.

I shared two screens from my in season franchise to show what I did in the offseason and it worked. (thanks to those on OS that shared this)

Basically if you take your weekly cash flow and multiply it by 26, you'll get your remaining/available budget. (26 isn't exact but its close enough)

                            Example below:

                            My remaining budget is $38.31M

If I go into the free agent screen, I see that my max weekly offer is $1.47M. Take 1.47 times 26 and you'll get $38.22M, which is close enough. The closer to exact, if not exact number would be 26.0612245.

                            Hope this helps.

I get all of that, I appreciate it by the way, but they have just made it clunky. There is no way to see if players have signed without going to the transaction screen. If you have to sign coaches you have leave the off season screen completely, Unless I missed something, to negotiate with coaches. I know I can figure it out the little minutia and everything given time, its just frustrating. Like I said earlier, for a game that is supposedly making itself more approachable they sure are making things harder in this aspect, in my opinion.

Edit Here is an example of my problem and I wish I had taken screens. I made it all the way thru signings with 1.23 Milliion per offer still available. I had Trea Turner and a 80k a year scrub left to sign. 40 man was set, all other offers were clear and off the board. Coaches signed, everything was done. I had done this on purpose because I wanted to make Turner a bigger offer. Well then my budget drops to -877k and I cant sign anybody. It wont let me change my offer on Turner or anything. My offer was way below my minimum allowed as I didn't want to risk budget complications, LOL So I end up cancel the offer on Tuner and just offer arbitration at 1.1 million. So thats settled. They side with me and Turner is good. Check the Roster yup 1.1 Million for 4 years? Wait? what? arbitration is supposed to be for one year only? So yeah nothing is working right for me.

Yeah it is definitely cumbersome with the new setup. Really hope next year it reverts back to notifying when someone signs with your team and when you sign a coach.

As for the issue of signing guys, I didn't have an issue. I was able to sign the people I wanted to sign without issue, outside of them signing with other teams. I never received a message that I was out of funds.
