This is my last comment on this. How is a realistic representation of a tense situation in a game that happens in every game of the baseball season non realism? How is making a mistake and grooving one down the middle of the plate to the Astros best hittter and paying for it non realism? Yes the act of choosing pitch out or slide step in the video game is not the same as the real world and honestly I don't know how else you could go about it.

Either way what happened was still a product of the situation, a mental lapse, or a lack of focus.

Whatever, I apparently missed the purpose of your story. I guess it was lost on me how user input error could create such a wonderful gaming moment. Get over it already and move on.

I’m 5th in the majors with most walks drawn. I’ve always done well or successfully drawn walks in the Show but I’ve never been this good.

204 walks drawn in 60 games which equates to 3.4 drawn per game.

        Not too shabby.

So, what’s your point? Why all the sarcasm?

Playing zone analog hitting I’ve figure out I would like the cpu to better adapt how it approaches pitching. Hot and cold zone recognition is good but it never changes as far as I can tell. Russell Martin in real life might not like fastballs up in the zone but CujoMatty looooovvvveees them!!! After 70 games Russell is hitting .400 and leading the league in homeruns and it’s because the CPU doesn’t understand that Russell Martin is just a vessel and it’s actually Me making decisions and when I know I’m getting most pitches up in the zone im gonna smack the ball around like it owes me money.

Smoak same thing. Honestly after 70 games the game has gotten pretty predictable on how it approaches each of my players. There are some deviations but I’d say in general I know what the cpu is up to.

            Anyone else have similar experience?

What hitting difficulty are you playing with? I play on HOF with MikeLowes sliders and I’ve noticed if you swing at bad pitches, the ai pitchers will keep throwing junk. I have to work the count to have good at bats and I’m seeing very realistic averages, hrs, and other batting stats in my franchise. Sounds like you could bump up the difficulty to see if you get more of a challenge?

Hall of fame difficulty as well. I think the thing is though I’m not generally flailing at anything because I’m looking for pitches up so when they do throw down in the zone I’m not even thinking about swinging because I know I’m going to get pitches up that I can handle. The 2 best examples I can say is Martin and smoak. Obviously they don’t just get pitches up but every at bat the pitcher has a plan of attacking them highland if you don’t flail they will go back to it. That’s fine but at the rate I’m punishing those pitches it should be the last thing I see. Play a few games with those guys and I think you’ll see what I mean.

Hmm that’s interesting. I’ve had guys in my franchise that start out or get hot like you’re saying but eventually the average and hr totals start to level back out to real to life stats. That’s crazy that those guys are that hot through 70 games. I’ve never seen streaks like that before. Maybe your hitting skills are as good as your create-a-player skills (awesome job on your CAPs from the roster thread!). Maybe you should bump on up to Legend? What are your other guys hitting stats like?

Let it go. Like I said, there's always one, he's the one. No need to explain it to him, he doesn't get it, nor does he care to try.

Averages aren’t too bad. Pillar, Smoak, Martin and Guerrero are elevated and it’s because the cpu approaches pitching the same to them so I guess it’s safe to say my hot zone is high lol. I’m going to try legend because I am winning more than I’d like(45-26)

It would be good if the AI could use your own hot/cold zones alongside the players’ so that it could pick up on your own tendencies and better inform its own pitch selection and location.

I'm on All-Star through mid May in the season and I'm hitting about 100 points higher with Gallo (.306, 15HR, 45RBI) and Choo (.359) than what they do in real life. With Odor and Mazara I'm right in line with where they've been most of their career. Odor - .196 and Mazara - around .260.

I hit really well in April with Chirinos as well around .330 but he's been no where in May and his average is around .280 now.

Finally bought The Show last week. CPU games play great IMO!

Unfortunately, online has been a mixed bag for me. Pitching seems to feel pretty good against users, but fastballs are a huge problem. They get to the batter too slow and too flat - it's causing way too many home runs and big hits.

On the flip side - and this contradicts what I just said kind of - the batting is terrible vs. other users. In CPU games, contact comes at a normal rate. If you square up your PCI on a ball, you get contact that replicates that. Against a user though, where your PCI is lined up doesn't seem to matter. Good contact doesn't always result in the ball doing what it should be doing. Perfect PCI placement and perfect swing timing should result in good contact (whether you end up being called out or not on the play). It just doesn't. It's puzzling to me. It seems so random at this point that you start to get the feeling that you could probably just leave the PCI where it sits at default and swing away. This causes another problem because it's making contact hitters close to obsolete imo. 90 contact should mean that. But right now, my 90 to 100 contact hitters are getting the same contact as the players that have 50 to 60 contact.

Admittedly I'm not that good yet, but I definitely feel like I see an issue here.
