Possibly could be the carryover save. I am starting fresh on mine.
Yeah I'm thinking it may be due to the carryover save, because I haven't had Matty V nor anyone else mention it.

Glad it's somewhat working for you. Hopefully it's a bug/glitch that they can fix for the overlay.

In my carryover save from 17 I am hearing historical match-up numbers from Matty V.

        Hmmm...

Wonder if it has to do with mine being '16, a year prior to the introduction of historical match-up numbers?

Bingo!!! That has to be it. On my Fantasy Cardinals Franchise from 2016 I never hear historical match-up numbers from Matty V. Just thought of that too.

I think there needs to be a way to judge balls that carom off the outfield walls. There isn't a good way to set yourself up. And it's like the ball blasts off the wall and away from my outfielder that usually the CPU gets a triple out of it.

The AI is useless in using a bullpen during Franchise. I'm a month into the season and every team has like one or two guys with 15+ innings pitched and the rest aren't lucky to have 4 innings. No matter where I put guys in the bullpen, the CPU uses the same guys every game for multiple innings.

              This game sucks.

This hasn't been my experience at all. I think in '18 the AI bullpen management has been the best that it has ever been in the series. I've seen teams go for lefty vs lefty matchups and manage their pen in a way that I would classify as "realistic".

Also looking at IP by relievers for AI controlled teams, I don't see anything that would cause me any concern in how the AI is managing their bullpen.

I use a carryover save from '16 just for reference. Not sure if that makes any difference or not.

Why is it so hard for AI outfielders to pick the ball up off the ground?

i noticed in my 4 game season opening series vs the Jays, they went with the same relievers in order all four games.

Ah well.lol Might just be an anomaly for that team.

Also, i hope they nix the overdone player emotions for 19, i sure don't need to see players dapping after a weak single in the top of the first.

So what is everyones opinion on a runner on first getting to third on a basehit to rightfield?

MLB The Show 18 First Impressions

So are we all just gonna ignore that crowd reactions in this game are complete crap?

They don’t cheer for outs, they cheer for plays. It’s grating. Like a defender fields the ball, they’ll cheer for that, but then they won’t cheer at all when the actual out is made. So you end up with this weird anticlimactic audio dynamic where they’re loud for ball being put in play but then dissipate while turning two.

Another hyperannoyance is how loud they tend to get during at bats of little or no significance. If they would just shut up for a little while then maybe when an out is recorded the contrast would be more pronounced.

Third, they’re always cheering random-*** nonsense, like fouling off a pitch, followed by a “swell” for the next pitch that has no business firing during some random nobody-out-in-the-third with one on and a 1-1 count.

Then there’s the not-reacting-at-all moments, where actual HUGE strikeouts or HUGE key hits are met with little or no reaction at all.

One of my favorites is how they will VERY OFTEN cheer road team hits every bit as wildly as they will home team hits. It’s not the same audio file, I don’t think, but they definitely get loud as hell when really they shouldn’t be reacting at all save maybe a collective groan or “awww.”

But mainly my beef is with there being no genuine reaction to tangible things like outs, runs, triples, etc. 90% of the time it’s just this lame generic random cheer that just sorta makes noise in the background with almost no connection to what’s happening.

Crowds have always been a thing for me and I thought we were getting close. But man going by this game we’re still years away.

I don’t get what’s so hard about it. They should be mostly quiet (that “baseball game” murmur) most of the time, give applause for routine outs and routine hits, cheer for extra bass hits and strikeouts, and cheer wildly for special events like multi-RBI hits, road pitcher walking the bases loaded, home runs, etc. This game features NONE of that, and in fact features what I’d call the OPPOSITE of that, and it really pisses me off.

                          Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I'm of the opinion that right field is the furthest away from third base.

Might have something to do with it. I don't bother with carry over saves (I don't see the point in buying a new game with very minor changes and not even getting the benefit of the few new playerscans).

God forbid you use a 13 man pitching staff. I ended April and a few SU-men on 13 man staffs had literally 2 IPs for the entire month.

I tell you guys, pitchers that throw low speed fastballs (88-90mph) are tougher for me to hit it seems than a guy with an upper 90's fastball.

Facing Manny Banuelos of the Braves and his fastball tops out at around 91mph. He has a good slider and curveball and I'm finding myself getting beat by his fastball because I'm having to respect the off-speed stuff so much.

Just another gem to this game.
