Cool yeah. I am still on patch 1.07 and i am strictly an offline player. i have heard such great things about the patches, and then i hear the complete opposite. Im sure i am missing some things by not updating, but i genuinely love how 1.07 plays. I think its great. And any small issues ive come across dont seem to have been completely fixed by the new patches anyway, from what ive read. Seems like half of the people love the patches, and half want to go back. It just seems like i would be trying to fix something that i already think plays great as it is, Risking something i like becoming something i dont like seems like a bad gamble. And on a coin flip at that.

The only thing i will miss is getting Hybrid. I waa looking forward to that. But as awesome as hybrid is, its not worth the expense of how great it is playing now.

I may still update at some point. But i dont see any reason to rush. I can update anytime but i can never go back.

I think it depends on what mode and what type of gameplay people prefer. They have incrementally improved defense to the point where the defense is overpowered just like it was in the show 17 in manage mode which is the only mode I play.

I'd go back to 1.04 if I could but unfortunately I'm on 1.10.

My guess is the company pays programmers to update the game and "we already have the game perfect" isn't good job security. Also people who gravitate toward that job by nature want to tinker and adjust.

I have been playing this game since 2007. I'm currently on 1.06 and have never been happier with the game.

Well I don't think we'll get robot fielders as long as the "human error AI" is in fielding. Even in 17, the difference from how OF attempt to play balls vs 16 is noticeable, imo.

I don't think it's going back to 17 (and I play auto fielding with no meter throwing so I'm playing ratings influenced defense). I mean, that note on 1.05 shouldn't impact you or I as we're both using CPU defense, which is ratings oriented?

Granted, we don't see the ball marker, but other than fielders defending too many zones (which is what I thought at the start of 18, hence lowering fielder speed/reaction), it really doesn't seem too much different.

Since playing on patch 1.10, the outfield manual fielding has become absolutely atrocious. The animation to catch hard hit line drives oftentimes won't kick in and the outfielder won't lock onto the ball, resulting in many routine fly balls leading to triples and inside the park home runs. It's getting absurd and needs to be fixed asap. Once again a patch fixes a few things and breaks something else that was working fine entirely.

I initially complained when I first bought the game that legend analog pitching was too easy.. I then switched to meter and was very pleasantly surprised with how much better the cpu offence was. I also had a harder time hitting my spots with meter resulting in issuing more walks which I was thrilled by.
Patch 1.07 to me felt the absolute best the game has played and since then it feels like it’s much easier to hit my spots even with meter pitching in legend. The cpu can’t string multiple hits together and i honestly feel the pitching challenge has been lost.
Does anyone else feel this way? Is it impossible to go back to 1.07 if i uninstall ?

I think you will either have to play as is out of the box or 1.10. We don’t have the option to choose our patches.

I’ve been saying this since the patch dropped. I’ve had to switch to auto fielding which i absolutely hate.

Manual fielding has become atrocious after this patch.

Every time I pinch hit for my pitcher, the game lags and everyone's stats are reset to .000 meaning all the innings before, whatever happened wasn't recorded.

Oddly enough the game logs stay true.

Did this start happening after the latest patch?

If so, or even if not, I would try to reloading the game/patch.

Are you going into Manage Only Mode to pinch-hit for your pitcher? I have heard of this happening there, but not during a live game.

Made an account just to comment on this thread which I 100% agree with. After installing the last update, not only has the game became very laggy all of sudden, but my fielders can't make a simple play anymore. I thought I was crazy but then after checking here realized people had the same issue.

I strictly play offline with PS4 Pro and the game is now laggy and the fielding is way worse than out of the box.

I know this has been asked before but even though I only have the digital copy, can I delete it and then reinstall to the out of the box version or will it update automatically when I reinstall?

Like Countryboy said, the only way to start fresh is to buy a physical copy of the game, and then never connect to the internet

Online Hitting is back to what it was last year after they neutered power so only guys with 90+ could hit it out. I was never one to complain about centered up balls being lazy outs from time to time. I get it. But since this patch it’s gotten laughable. I must have had 15 centered up balls result in a dribbler or weak fly ball. So frustrating.
