I would definitely keep a close eye on stats if you use it regularly. Others reported it happening, so i decided to test it. The very first game i tested it did what i described. Hopefully it was a huge coincidence that it happened the first time. I tried it 3 more times and it seemed to work fine.
I am officially sick and tired of the patches screwing up gameplay!

Online Hitting is back to what it was last year after they neutered power so only guys with 90+ could hit it out. I was never one to complain about centered up balls being lazy outs from time to time. I get it. But since this patch it’s gotten laughable. I must have had 15 centered up balls result in a dribbler or weak fly ball. So frustrating.

I completely agree. I stopped playing for about a month and jumped into a few Battle Royale games over the weekend. Not much else I can do online now since they took online franchise out and I had to dust this coaster off at some point. But just BR in general, the gameplay is absolutely awful. The pitch speed is horrifically slow. It's almost impossible to get solid contact consistently game to game and on top of that, the "good" players know this and just feed you a steady diet of off speed pitches. Then when they mix that occasional fastball in, you will just make weak contact and pop it up. Makes for a very boring game. That's exactly what it feels like. Very stale.
It definitely wasn't this bad when it first came out. The 18 patches in 2 months have made what already was a bad experience online even worse.
Bottom line is for all the talk of online stability this year + the mess that was last years game, this might be actually the worst online gameplay we've ever had in the MLB series. Maybe patch 19 will fix itComment

Re: I am officially sick and tired of the patches screwing up gameplay!
Ok, guys, so I play on Legend with Mike Lowe's sliders (legend pitching and legend zone hitting) in my offline Franchise. I have realistic games with enjoyable gameplay. I am currently 28-22 and have a great feel for offline. Also, I've been playing The Show for years so would consider myself a "seasoned" gamer with this franchise. Offline hitting has been no problem with realistic results, however, this does not translate when I play against others in DD.
I've also been playing online DD for several years have made it to the Wild Card, but recently (since the latest patch), hitting is the most difficult and frustrating part of my DD experience. Squared balls, perfect timing, with normal (x) swing result in popups, dribblers, etc. In my last 10 games online (I have actually documented this), I swung with power only 1 time. Yet I am only averaging only a few hits per game. Most recently, my last two games I tried only contact swinging and had more realistic balls off the bat, but nothing with force.
Here are my last 10 games run/hit totals: 1/6 (run/hit), 2/7, 1/5, 1/6, 0/4, 0/5, 2/6, 4/7, 3/5, 2/6
There is legitimacy to whatever seems to be going on with the trouble of hitting that others are commenting about. Now, I don't make $$ playing baseball games or testing them. But I consider myself a pretty decent gamer who tries to play the game the right way.
Has anyone else tested just swinging with contact and had different results? Am I just becoming a terrible online gamer, lol? I'm open to suggestions or comments.Comment

GW a little negativity isnt always bad. I dont like being negative either, and rarely am. However, I guarantee that none of the "gameplay improvements" they are introducing came from online gamers being "positive." I think most offline players are by nature generally more positive, adaptive, and forgiving (probably due to being an older crowd lol) And as a result the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
It is highly doubtful an adaptive, forgiving crowd will get much attention from developers. However the other problem is we are also outnumbered.Comment
