No, I’ve just had some amazing games. Who knows if a whole lot changed, but all I know is my games have been spectacular, and for me the proof is in the pudding. I want to trap this version of The Show in a bottle.

Does anyone know if this patch solved the Case of the Dancing PCI?

You know, where the PCI moves up or down etc with no influence from the user? I can completely take my hand off the stick, and swing perfectly, and on at least 1/3 to 50% of my swings, the PCI is above or below where it should be, resulting in a pop up or ground out etc.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm sticking with 1.07 for now unless bu chance this is addressed

The up/down movement of the PCI depending on if your timing was early/late seems to have been dampened some. Meaning that if you get "good" timing it won't move as much up or down as it did pre-patch, though it does move a little bit because there are varying degrees of "good" timing. If you swing middle and get good timing though, you should see the PCI covering the middle. This varies by difficulty level too - on Legend a "Too Early" swing can throw a middle-aimed PCI all the way to the top of the strike zone, while doing the same on Rookie might only move it slightly above where you aimed.

I'm referring to offline play here (and more specifically practice mode, which is where I'm observing it). I haven't played online since the patch, which is where most of the complaining about this came from).

I've seen some different hit types since the patch. I don't know if the changes to the PCI in this patch had anything to do with it or not, but I saw new hit types after 60+ games played thus far.

I also made a leaping catch with Patrick Wisdom (3rd Baseman) during a game vs the Brewers last night. First time I've been able to do this. Seen the CPU do it, but it always seemed as though my infielders couldn't pull it off due to being "locked".

Wish I would've thought to save a video of it.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Good to hear. Yeah I've played hundreds of zone hitting games in previous years and this has never been an issue at all. I'm fine with small movements for early/late swings, but...the bad thing is it was moving opposite directions regardless of timing. After noticing what I thought was inconsistency during actual games (I thought I must be inadvertently moving the stick as I hit the swing button), I tested it, swinging early, and had it move both up and down. Then I tested it swinging late, and it also moved upon one pitch, and down on another. I found others on another forum confirming this.

I then switched to 2 player, and threw myself several middle-square fastballs, and swung with the other controller without touching the stick. I got a high fly ball, chopper, grounder, all with no stick influence. The only thing that moved was the pci (up and down and even a bit side to side) as I disregarded all pitches that were not located in the exact same spot. (I am on legend so the pci doesnt have to move as much to make that much difference in batter ball types)

If it feels and seems like this is fixed, I will update to 1.08 and just live with any slider work I need to do because of it.

Any further confirmation of this in 1.08 would be greatly appreciated.

                  Nasty bug post-patch.

Hit into a double play but when the throw to first was airmailed out of play the runner on first was out and the batter was returned to the box to bat, like a redo.

Has happened twice in a handful of franchise games.

                  Not good.

This exact thing happened to me the other day, pre-patch. Jay hit into a double play, but the second baseman threw it into the stands. Next thing I know, Jay is hitting again with a fresh count, and no one on base. Then he reached first on an infield error, so it sort of worked out, except he should have been at second.

Again this was pre-patch and I took video. I still don't have the new patch.

                      Wow!

I hope they can fix that before they are done with patches this year.

at least that is my understanding of the slider.
I figured out the problem, it's the frame rate. I've played about 5 games since the patch and am now getting poor inconsistent frames. Which, in turn makes it really hard to hit and pitch.

Agreed. Ive been meaning to report it but havent yet. Need to get on that.

Ive also seen a ground ball between third and short, which the third baseman goes for it and cant get there. The shortstop is crossing behind him and apparently assumes the third baseman made the play. The ball gets through the third baseman and hits the shortstop in the foot and it bounces back toward second base. The shortstop suddenly realizes it and runs and grabs the ball.

This has happened no less three times and looked very similar each time.

Edit: to clarify, none of these happened with manual fielding. This was CPU fielding, while i was hitting.

Similar issue as well last night. CPU was turning a double play (got the out at 2nd; first of the inning), throw goes into the stands (1st and 3rd are now occupied). Next guy up; still only 1 out, guy on 1st moves to 2nd as he should have; guy on 3rd goes home as he should have, however no run counts/nothing happens other than the game acted like there was no one on 3rd.

Blew my mind. Had to close out and switch games after that debacle.

I've had this happen three times, all before 1.08. The worst instance was when I was trying to completed the timed mission to be the Indians last month. In the bottom of the 8th that happened and my next hitter hit a grounder to 2B. The baserunner was wandering on the field towards the plate, then ran back to 1B when I hit the ball. Both runners ended up on 1st and I couldn't control either of them. Worse, Kipnis just kept running an tagging 2B over and over again. I had to quit the game because I couldn't advance.

You can see the RF not making any attempt at all, then after the ball is past the 2B, he doesn't even attempt to pick it up.
