I tried to press the left stick to take over and it did nothing. Didn't try to cancel the throw, but once he passed first I did press X to try and get the ball home and nothing happened. It was as if he locked into the animation as soon as he fielded the ball. Other than that and a few minor fielding issues, I have had no problems whatsoever in any other facet (using Armor's sliders, in case anyone was wondering). Unfortunate that it had to happen at such a crucial point in the game.

The only time I see this bug is if I press circle...you have to push the LS towards first and do not touch the circle button. Once you engage the circle button press the bug can (and it rarely happens) crop up.

Do not use that circle button unless the pitcher is clearly running over to cover. But he won’t cover on sharply hit balls to first base....he won’t be near the base at all and you will simply take over the first baseman yourself with the LS.

Stay off that circle button in those situations to avoid the rare bug that happens.

Friend, not saying that at all. I apologize if you took it that way. You were being honest and that’s appreciated. Just pointing out how much the gamer matters too. I could NEVER manual run the bases. You want to have a good laugh i’ll have to make a video.

Hell, I don’t understand how somebody can finish Far Cry 5 in 10 hours, or less
When I haven’t even made a dent in it since release date.

Again, just trying to add a bit of humor. I,love my brother-in-law, just don’t want to play The Show against him.

CB could be right on this, I had an issue where my game would freeze up occasionally and probably in the neighborhood of 12 or 15 times when I would start the game up, I would have to go back thru the “beginner or experienced” nonsense. Plus reset everything back to how I play and not to mention you lose your SOTS and start back at level one.....pretty damn annoying. I deleted the game and reinstalled and have not had any issues since....might be worth a try.

My game is a digital download. Is it possible to delete the patch(es) without uninstalling the entire game? If so, I'd love to because I truly dislike the game as it is. Just played another game. Put it on Legend, Mike Lowe sliders. Got 2 hits. One was a homer. Just straight garbage. No idea how my TV doesn't have a controller through it because the crap I saw that game...unbelievable.

I think it's fair that people who only have glowingly positive things to say about the game get a reputation as a "white knight." I think it's fair that people who only have unfairly negative things to say about the game get a reputation as a "naysayer."

Fair, maybe. What practical purpose does it have?

It accomplishes nothing to advance any discussion, exchange of ideas, or anything constructive.

Calling someone any of these labels...what's the point? Might as well ignore the post and move on to the next.

To be honest, I don't think about "hey how will this post alter my reputation". I don't even know what it is, and it doesn't really bother me.

Far as I know, maybe I'm a "white knight" lol *shrug*

As long as I'm a data-driven one, I'll be happy lol.

The only time I see this bug is if I press circle...you have to push the LS towards first and do not touch the circle button. Once you engage the circle button press the bug can (and it rarely happens) crop up.

Do not use that circle button unless the pitcher is clearly running over to cover. But he won’t cover on sharply hit balls to first base....he won’t be near the base at all and you will simply take over the first baseman yourself with the LS.

Stay off that circle button in those situations to avoid the rare bug that happens.

Awesome, thanks for the info! Like I said, that has really been the only major issue I've noticed so far. Glad to know there's a way to prevent it from happening again.

I'm saying prior to the last few patches I was playing on Legend, getting K'd close to 10 times a game yet still hitting. Pitchers threw on the black and nibbled. Loved it. I was still able to play and compete. Now...not so much.

I find this fascinating because I actually moved up to Legend late in 1.09 and still there with the same sliders at 1.10.

Now, it's not default Legend, but I'd rather tweak sliders, heavily in my favor if need be, before I go below HoF again.

Ego? No.

Pitching behavior from the AI? Yes. Zone % how I like? Yes.

So, I'd rather go 10/10/10/10/10 on hitting sliders vs 0/0/0 CPU pitching before I go back. Like you said, the pitching strategy the AI uses is too much to sacrifice.

I use exclusively manage mode. The show 17 was the worst ever due to inordinately low runs scored. The show 18 was the best ever upon release.

Eleven games prior to the current patch in manage mode - no simming my runs scored per game 4-3-5-9-6-3-4-3-1-7-7

Eleven games since the current patch 3-6-1-2-3-4-0-3-3-4-2

Call me crazy but it seems they somehow have managed to return to the show 17 gameplay. Why they would do that I have no idea but it appears to be the case.

At least upon release they showed what is possible with this game.

I honestly do not know as I only buy physical. Hopefully someone can answer this for you.

In fact, the first time it happened to me, I could do nothing on the sticks (because I use the L-stick to run there but that was locked out as well).

In fact, it happened like that 2 days ago, but I got lucky and the runner ran into him so I got the out anyway.

Actually I have answered how to combat this bug a million times and here it goes again. I auto field and manual throw......when I get a grounder to first and i want my fielder to take it and step on the bag I simply get control of the first baseman with my LS and move him to the bag and he engages in the step on the bag animation.

No issues.

DO not press the circle button if you auto field and manual throw on balls it to the first basemen unless you want to toss it to a pitcher covering.

Never saw the bug again when employing this tactic.

Nope. You're stuck with 1.10. If you delete the game and re-download, you'll get 1.10.

I'm auto fielding/manual throw. (I just recently switched after using manual fielding and meter throwing for the first 50 or so games of my franchise.)

I've got about 60 games in now and it popped up for the first time over the weekend. I'd heard about it before but never happened to me. Gallo snagged a chopper, I hit circle and he just started walking off the field. Fortunately the runner ran into him as he crossed the line so I lucked out there but it was in the back of my mind the rest of the game.

At least it is rare but something that certainly needs fixing, that would suck in a close game in the playoffs or world series.

That is an issue/bug with AUTO fielding from what I've gathered from the forum. I haven't seen it with MANUAL fielding so I'm not sure if I'm just lucky thus far or if its only on AUTO.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do from what I've read. I thought you might be able to press the L stick to take over, but since its AUTO fielding that doesn't do anything.

One thing I will ask though, is if you press L1 (throw cancel) will it make him stop? My thinking is I wonder if you can press L1 to cancel the throw and then press circle again to make him run to the base correctly?

Cumbersome I know that it might work????

Unfortunately I switched to auto fielding because it was happening to me on manual fielding WAY too much.

After it cost me 3 runs in Game 7 of the ALCS I almost raged. I've switched to AUTO and haven't seen anything, yet.
