Didn’t know it was a legacy issue

Re: MLB The Show 18 Patch 1.10 Available, Patch Notes Here
Has anyone deleted all the patches and just played with the out the box game? I just deleted the game and am waiting for it to load unconnected now cause I couldn't deal anyone. Im not having any defensive issues (other than the regular ones that have always existed) but offense for me is not fun at all. Im playing franchise on default legend. With the Mets. 56-44 before the patch. 255 batting average. 3.50 team era. Towards the bottom in most team power numbers but have 3 players over 20 homers.
Played these last 8 games post patch. Haven't gotten more than 5 hits in a game. 0 home runs. I don't know if this patch affected the CPU hitting or it's a coincidence but they haven't hit either. I'm 4-4 in these 8 games but I never scored more than 2 runs. Maybe the patch got in my head but I don't think so. When I square up on a ball it doesn't go as far. Maybe some people love the more expansive PCI but I have a tendency if a ball is low in the zone I just push down on the sticks all the way and I use to hit it good. Now it's a pop up or a miss. I'd actually rather the CPU pitch the ball out of zone than on the corners now cause I'd have a better chance of getting a hit. Maybe that's cause I'm not that good. Maybe I need to practice more.
But I was having a really fun season. Good times were being had on the ref whether I was winning or losing. Now I'm having no fun. Win or lose. It's too frustrating. I didn't get this game day of. So I don't know what the out the box experience is like. Hopefully it's similar to how it was right before this patch. It just stinks they had to mess with the offline part of the game just cause a handful of "pros" complain on Twitter. I guess next year I'll buy the game used so someone else gets my money instead of this company cause this game is clearly not made for the offline player anymore. Sorry this is long. Im just ranting waiting for my game to re-download.Uncle Ray Ray wants to Play!!Comment

I am also noticing a power outage. It’s not just on me either...the cpu team has been effected as well. I have a small sample size of six games but since I am noticing it on both sides, I am moving forward as it really is happening.
I am going to drop the Solid hits slider by one and raise the power slider by one to see if that gets it back in line.Comment

I’ve had the same experience. Directional hitting classic pitching. Default HOF. In 5 games since the patch I was rarely hitting the ball with +100 exit velo on “good” timed swings. Nor was the cpu. I bumped power to 6 (one click up from default). After one game (small sample size) the hitting felt really good to me. Plenty of hit variety (including weak contact when deserved), strikeouts, and power when earned. Excited to keep playing to obtain a larger sample size.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Patch 1.10 Available, Patch Notes Here
I play with auto fielding and I've had issues of outfielders running past a slow roller in front of them. My most striking issue just occurred about 10 minutes ago in the third game of my new Reds franchise. 8th inning tied at 1 with 2 outs and a runner on third, Daniel Murphy hits a hard grounder to 1st which Joey Votto fields, and, instead of touching 1st when I held circle, jogs on a straight path to the dugout allowing the runner to score, ruled an E3. I rage quit and am completely disheartened.
On to the patch, this is simply a personal observation, once 1.09 dropped my home run rate when from a rate that was well within the realm of reality through the roof. I actually stopped playing the game because it got to the point where I was trying not to hit bombs, no matter what I did to the settings.
I'm 10 games in to 1.10 and my hit variety and result variety is back to where it was prior to 1.09 and I'm having fun again, and back to playing my franchise. I really wish they'd stop tweaking the hitting system because it creates adverse results and I'm tired of having to adjust every time I get the game playing the way I want. I've read multiple times from multiple people after updates changes won't affect offline, but my experience refutes those claims. Before people claim placebo effect, I'm talking about huge differences and large sample sizes.
While not every update seems to have changed my experience, enough of them have to really frustrate me, and at one point had me completely shelving this game, which if you know what a fan of the game I am, that should say something.Comment

It's unfortunate that those of us who don't have a physical copy aren't able to revert to prior versions. I'll grab a used version soon and get back to having fun. These 4 hit games with good timing and weak contact every other at bat are long past a bad streak.Comment

Just curious since y’all have probably played a few more games if you still have the same thoughts about the power not being down?
I did raise the power to 6, and I dropped the solid hits to try and offset somewhat.....I don’t want to be hitting too many bombs. I am seeing better hits, doubles and deeper fly ball outs (warning track) I have hit a few wall ball doubles.....no homeruns yet, but have only played two games after the changes.Comment

I absolutely still have the same thoughts that power is not down after the patch. I’m still seeing the same power numbers post patch as I was pre patch.
Last game I played, minus All Star games, blue jays and I combined for 3 homeruns
I think you’ll see power numbers come back. 2 games may just be a minor power outage

Re: MLB The Show 18 Patch 1.10 Available, Patch Notes Here
Not that my opinion should matter (as I have lost 21 straight, haha) upping power seems like a bad way to go about getting results. I find with power at 6 too many balls above 100mph are hit. It just seem to have a very big impact. For me it resulted in way too many balls leaving the bat at a very high velocity right at gloves. Assuming someone playing doesn't have my luck, said balls would be rockets for doubles and maybe even triples and a few forced/unrealistic homeruns. Probably fun for a few games with a friend on the couch though!Comment
