As others have said, there would have to be significant improvement to the franchise mode before I would even consider buying a new version for the PS4. The most recent I have on my PS4 is 16, but I spend most of my time still playing 15 on my Vita. If they put out another Vita port, I would buy that in a heartbeat.

There will never an sports game without offline franshise. The problem with all Sports Game now is, only little improvement in offline modes. Too much goes to Diamond Dynasty.

If they release 19 exactly the same as 18 with no changes at all what so ever. Since I doubt that I will buy 19 but maybe not at launch. I do hope they fix fielding though.

My level of interest for "The Show" is definitely waning. The games that they have released in the past couple of years was not made for people like me and I'm ok with that. The fact that there are so many good games I want to play in the next couple of months has me thinking '19 might be a pass or later on this year unless there is some sort of new way they do RttS. Right now, it's going to be a hard pass for me.

It is really simple for me.

I need to see some real enhancements to Franchise mode and presentation inside franchise mode.

If it will be basically the same as 18. We are passing.

First time I will do that since I started playing The Show.

It just shows how fantastic 18 is.

For those that never got 18......you really should.

The gameplay and AI is as good as it ever was and by a good margin.

Not perfect....but easily the best this series has ever been.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever see another Vita version of The Show. I thought the four versions they did put out were all really good, with 14 being my favorite. The one thing about 15 that bugs me is that the pitch/at-bat history disappears mid-game for some reason.

I'd like there to be more focus on the franchise and season players. There are a lot of great custom and historical roster creators whose efforts go to waste because the focus is totally on DD. I play a lot of playoff mode to experience the various historical rosters. If they return to shorten seasons or custom divisions and scheduling; I'll buy it the first day. Conquest and DD just don't have a long lasting appeal to me. Online H2H is average. I'd be interested in improvement in that area such as NHL.

Correction. Without him, or some other 'real' legends, I'll skip. Having 'stars' is cool, but I want some bog names (eg. McGwire, Bonds)

I dont thinks peds is why you dont see these guys. Otherwise we wont see Cano in 19. Probably these guys except Caminiti aren't going to be in because they dont come cheap. I wonder if Bonds ever got a managing gig would he change his mind or pull a Belichick.

I haven't bought The Show since 2015, so the question for me would be is there anything that would make me buy MLB The Show 19 at this point.


The answer is yes, but it's a long answer and this thread covered a lot of it already. I'll sum it up though. The developers would have needed to focus more on the core of the game and offline modes. I doubt they did that.
