shortly after 18 was released I really thought hard about a delay on 19 being a Day One buy, but over the past summer 18 really won me over. I'm back on as a solid release day buyer. Now, the only thing that would keep me from purchasing is if I was poor broke and hungry. Heck, not even a guy like Bryce Harper will keep me away. As i said on Twitter today for a bunch of us who do the rosters every year in such great detail, this is a make or break year for a bunch of us ...if Sony does not show commitment to the Offline Franchise mode in anyway and start asking for and including roster creators for feedback, because roster creators are “content creators” whether they want to admit it or not then a few of us long term roster guys will be moving in a diff direction and leave behind a project we have worked on for years and years.... not to say we wont ever play the game but if SCEA is not investing in the mode we dedicate hundreds of hrs of free work to so people that play their game can get added enjoyment then we cant either. We have had some amazing opportunities over the last year or so from other games and companies looking to push their franchise modes further and we may move on to them.... im sure other guys here will take over but to lose some of the long term pros is gonna do serious damage to the quality of product everyone has come to look for year in and year out. Lets hope they recognize franchise mode and start using roster creators for feedback as content creators as well. Lets be real, we fix their roster mistakes year in and year out why not work together, im not talking about just MILB guys either we get the licensing but the MLB guys, equip issues, stats and service time, positional issues. Lots of potential for a better quality game. Lets make it happen.

Re: Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
The roster issue (in Franchise mode) for the playoffs will need to be fixed this year before my friend and I purchase the game again. The playoffs are a joke when a team has one healthy catcher and we can't bring up another catcher to back him up and replace the injured catcher...
I just bought a new PC and started playing MLB 2K12 and while the ball physics and player models are VERY dated, I am really enjoying the game... especially knowing that I won't have to worry about playoff rosters... The mods for 2K12 are amazing as well...Comment

Re: Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
Yes, if it's too much like 18 in the systems/functioning of the sliders and gameplay, then I might as well keep playing 18...which is what I'll do. I'm not concerned with having 19 IRL rosters...I mean one of my franchises is in 203X anyway...
With all the increased information on the physics of the game from Statcast, etc, I would think a lot could be done on those fronts.
Otherwise, I don't mind skipping a year (or so) or just walking away like I've done with Madden.
18 isn't a bad game (like it MUCH more than 17 for some reason...I really was not impressed by 17 and I don't know why exactly), so it's not like "oh I hate 18 so if 19 isn't better I'm done", it's just...I want a shift in how plays are rendered and resolved and how players are rated and develop in sports games.
Until that shift occurs, I might just need to take a break from the sports games genre."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
Person who skipped 18 here.
I invested a ton of time into 17 and really enjoyed the game. I’m a franchise guy through-and-through. However, I dabbled a bit in DD and really enjoyed the improvements to RttS that year. Simply put, it was the most time I had put into a Show game in years and that’s saying something because it was truly the only “must purchase” sports game once NCAA went down.
But I knew; I could just tell that things were going in the wrong direction. The sheer emphasis that DD was getting on 17 and the hype of it in 18 combined with the lack of improvements to franchise, I just couldn’t do it anymore. There’s nothing to keep me engaged in franchise mode anymore. Yeah, it’s a blast to develop and call up that prospect, grind through August and September to the playoffs with my Pirates, etc., but it just seemed to be losing its luster.
Sounds like a “me” problem, sure. Just had a feeling that the franchise players weren’t cared for and it wasn’t changing anytime soon.
It was to a point where I had more fun playing NCAA Baseball 06 on my PS2 than the Show in the year 2018.
I anxiously await the news coming out in the next few weeks. For such a long time SCEA was so good to the community, listening to our feedback, including our “wishes” into the game. Just seems like it’s all a thing of the past.
Hope that changes here in the coming weeks. I really want video game baseball back in my life.My Newport Falcons Football Dynasty (Teambuilder) (CFB25)

I support this 100%.
I mean it cant be said enough. This is not a game meaning we the creators in this forum are not playing around, if any developer sees and reads these forums I highly suggest you take this into account.
We all have created and spent countless hours in games trying to bring out more creativity that was put into it originally. When you see that kind of dedication you shouldn't turn your back on it and sorta speak, dont bite the hand that feeds you.
I've spoken out on this and how I feel, and so has so many other very focused and oriented guys in this community. I think you should listen.
I really do.
You want an example?
Take a look in the madden community and the rosters that use to be created going back to Madden 10 look at the drop off year after year. Until litterally now like 4 very active content creators busting there behind to bring some kind of classic roster to the game.
People are tired. It's not the fact you guys are bringing new modes, but to be straight up honest?
I feel you guys have forgotten the community of offline/franchise mode players and to be quite honest that's who got you guys where you are now.
If it was not for the content creators that took things further with your game and not only expanded on to it but promoted it as well, where would yall really be?
Man..all I'm gone say if you loose Ridin or any member of there team. Smh you'll regret that down the line. I can pretty much guarantee it.
I cant blame you bro, Ridin
I'm in the middle right now of installing classic games from back in the day and plan on playing them, and making dynasty documentaries about them, and some are very pixelated compared to today's graphics but guess what it will be played with with no shame!
Because the developers cared about what there were making, they didnt short cut it, they new with a good product out turn there residual's would return to them quadruple! Classics never fade!
I'd rather do that then drop 1 more cent towards these future games coming out, that's not in it for the dedication of creation any more but instead greed now.
My last post on this.

Re: Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
To piggyback off of Ridin for a sec. Just to give people some insight into just how bad rosters are from Sony, I didn't play a single game in 18. I've basically spent the entire year just editing. It's become a long and strenuous process that it literally took a toll on me mentally and physically at times. We've even reached out to a few devs themselves and have gotten no responses with some issues we've had the last two and half years. I will give them credit cause they did fix the roster glitch issues with the vault early in 18.
Like Ridin, I love working on OSFM and I appreciate the work that all the creators have done many of which are OS members, but if franchise is neglected once again then I am out of the OSFM scene and I'll just stick to the fictional franchise roster that I plan on using for 19 and beyond.
Also, just to give you guys a glimpse into just how much work Ridin and myself put in, we both attend Spring Training Games each year he attends Grapefruit League Games and I go to Cactus League Games, and we both talk to players on the MLB side and the MiLB side each year these guys know who we are and they seek us out and ask us about the rosters and they even give input such as ratings, equipment, and even appearance updates. People think it's just us sitting behind a computer screen, but that isn't the case. A lot of time is invested in this roster on a year to year basis only to be picked apart by certain individuals.
I personally, have no issue or don't care about not being invited to Sony or anything like that. My issue is we put in all this work each year and sometimes it just feels like wasted time when franchise basically stays the same year to year. They have made some minor strides, but nowhere close to the potential the mode could have.
If this is my last year doing this I personally would like to thank Ridin, Ivanhoe, CWSpalehoseCWS, Csura999, Bacon96, TreeFive, Puertorck07 (not an OSFM guy, but his CAPS have been used by us), kpf48, Houston, DueceMonkey, Sammyf77, Motown, Abotti, firephantom22,Nena0607, CujoMatty, Willard, boomersooner's draft pick CAPS, and anyone else I might have forgotten they have been a huge assets to this project and you guys need to support them by up voting their CAPS in the vault and supporting any personal roster projects they do.Last edited by ShowTyme15; 01-23-2019, 09:16 PM.Comment
