I'm about there myself but I'm having a blast on NBA 2k19....In years past Id always get the bug to play about this time but would resist because I figured it was all a waste (I use to be a big High Heat Baseball guy for the PC late 90's-Early 00's). Now it just continued progress and its the way Ive finished 10 full 162 seasons in 5 years.

I keep budgets on and when teams are unable to sign players due to budget issues I then throw them in the pool of free agents that have to get assigned. Last year the Giants were overbudget so McCutcheon was signed to the Braves, who ended up with the best record in the NL (and got eliminated in the NLDS). This year they may not be able to re-sign Bumgarner. The 'Stros have been the most challenging, small budget with Verlander's salary and now arbitration for Correa and Springer.

I also don't play 30 team control so that affects my decision

Lol me too. I gotta kick the bad habit of restarting every year. I'll have to this year since I didn't get '18 but I have a major itch to play now. I may test orlut some things or do a fantasy draft for fun...

How do you guys deal with Draft Picks ratings syncing up with the current rosters of your franchise.

I know they come out highly rated. I'm thinking about doing -10 rating for most of the drafted players ratings to get in sync

I have yet to ever use the carryover feature, but giving it serious thought for 19 and beyond. I just don't have a good feeling on the direction MLBTS is going and 19 may be the last one I purchase until ps5 for me. Also, all the time and effort put into the Hybrid roster we are doing, I'd like to utilize it for some time and not just one year.

I personally use my own rating system based on how they did in college, or high school, along with the grades (20-80 scale) they are given by scouts.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I used your Hybrid set for my franchise that I'll be carrying over. I moved the clutch rating of all players to 50 and the game plays amazingly.

I did two things to the roster. I used real contracts at a 70% threshold. So they go in line with future free agent contracts.

Second thing I did with the roster was removed a lot of the Triple A / Double A players that are just depth guys and put every teams Top 30 prospects on the roster. Double A teams are basically prospect teams and it's fun to see whose winning those leagues.

Thanks for all you do! I know you're working on the 2019 set. Once that's complete I'll be bugging you for some ratings again for guys who didn't make it to the Hybrid Set!

We like to get as many prospects as possible, but we try to get most, if not all, of the upper level guys. That's where roster limits hurt.

Can you expand on how well the 70% salary works for your franchise? We may tweak contracts slightly.

I'm going off the top of my head since I don't have my information in front of me. I'll double check tonight though

Example of Chris Davis since I'm the Orioles

                            2018 contract = 105 million ÷ 5 years = 21 million per year

                            What I did was 105 million x .80 = 84 million

                            84 millions ÷ 5 years = 16.8 million per year

                            Example of Miguel Cabera .

                            2018 contract = 184 million ÷ 6 years = 30.6 million per year

                            What I did was 184 million x .80 = 147.2 million

                            147.2 millions ÷ 6 years = 24.5 million per year

Doing this allowed for teams to have somewhat a resemblance to their IRL payroll. Makes those guys hard to trade in game.

For arbitration guys I wouldn't touch unless they had a huge payroll increase such as Nolan Arenado and Josh Donaldson. The reason of not changing all those players was personal time doing every player and those players get new contracts every year. So the first year not having 100% correct contract didn't bother me.

For player options I would decide if a player was most likely to accept their options then I added years. I.e. Johnny Cueto, Elvis Andrus

Then if they we're likely to test the market take out player option. I.e. Clayton Kershaw.

Team options I would usually follow same roles as Player Options.
