Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
This is probably a dumb question but is there any way to increase your attributes. In years past you could use "points" to increase. All I've seen now is playing in a game. Do you have to play in every game to get an increase/decrease?Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
No way to increase with points....you can only develop with in game accomplishments. I personally prefer the other system and like to work on the attributes in the order/way that I want, but still having fun with the game. My player development/progress is slow though, as a full time job plus a part time side business doesn't leave alot of time. In the old system I'd always buy 20 bucks worth of stubs to use for RTTS training points and give my player a jump start. More of a grind but again, still love the mode.Comment

My guy keeps getting bad injuries. I’ve had 3 stints on the 60-day DL in 2ish MLB seasons. My durability is 72, but I’m a young player so I can’t build it rapidly. Sucks to have great seasons but miss 40-50 games each year.Twitter

I'm having an issue with errors playing SS. They are always errors I can do nothing about, basically just booting the ball because my character has a 68 fielder rating.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Made a SP based on myself irl. Chose the Plain Filthy archetype [or whatever it's called] since I'd rather have movement on my pitches out of the get go. It's still easy to strike people out despite throwing 93mph.
Throwing a 4seam, knuckle curve and circle change - not only is it what I threw when I was a pitcher back in the good ol' days, but they have some wicked movement on them.
I got drafted in the 24th round by the Tigers - as a C potential. Does this ever change? Because now in my second year, I'm absolutely destroying and a 75 overall.
Anyway, in 2018, I tore up AA to the tune of a 6-0 record and about 79 K's in 69 innings. Had like 5 saves because this game loves to make you play out of position for no reason. Had a nice long stint in the bullpen before going back to the rotation for about 2 starts and then getting called up to AAA in about mid/late June. Finished with an ERA of about 0.77.
Destroyed AAA just as much, about 56 innings and 69 K's, an ERA of around 0.55. Went 5-0 I believe, until getting the call up to the majors in late July. I was like a 69 overall so I was not prepared to do well, and with the Tigers out of contention [because they're absolute trash in this game] I didn't quite understand the call up but, alright.
First game I had to face the Cleveland Indians, which I wasn't that scared for since I've been a firm believer they're one of the most overrated teams of the decade, but nonetheless they added Brandon Nimmo and Jose Abreu to the lineup so I was a little scared lol.
Ended up walking like 2 batters, gave up probably like 9 hits, and struck out 5 in 5 innings of shut out baseball. Don't believe I earned a decision, but I was relatively impressed at how I managed to not give up a run to them, especially with the amount of times I had runners on. I struck out Jose Ramirez twice which I was most proud of lol.
Finished my rookie season going 6-0 with a 1.77 ERA in 79 innings, with 99 K's. Couldn't get to the 100 K mark. I finished as a 73 Overall. I only had 9 walks, but I gave up 9 homeruns too, which is due to my 55 HR/9 stat and the fact I leave my 92mph fastball over the heart of the plate too much. First pitch I ever threw to Mike Trout was a heater right in the top of the zone that he demolished, lol. Despite my BB/9 also being a 55, I never really walk anyone because I'm an aggressive pitcher in The Show, rarely ever working full counts or walks. I'm way better at pitching than hitting. And even with Foul Frequency sliders all the way down [since this game is SUPER DUPER in love with foul balls], hitters LOVE to foul off like 7 in a row, especialy with two strikes, so I just get angry and plunk them because I'd just rather move onto the next guy. It's frustrating as hell how many foul balls are hit in this game.
Anyway, now in late May in 2019 and I was "demoted" to long relief in the bullpen, since they went out and secured two starting pitchers in the offseason with an overall just 2 points higher than me lol. I struggled a bit out of the gate, but now I might as well be the 6th starter because the Tigers are so trash, about every 4th game I come in the 3rd-4th inning down 6-0 and am forced to eat up innings until about the 8th. I believe my longest outing in relief has been 5.1 innings where I gave up 2 hits, struck out 9. I'm 4-1 with an ERA just below 3.00, but racking up the K's in about 58 innings of work. The starters have the lowest innings in the majors, our bullpen is being heavily taxed, and we sit in last place about like 18-39 or something. Maybe I'm in June with that record, I dunno lol, I forget.
But that's where I am now, cheers if you read this! : DComment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Searched and didn't see anyone else with this issue...
My second and third tier boosts aren't showing up as active when I step to the plate. This seems to only be occurring with players created after the latest patch from a few weeks ago.
With players created previous to that patch, if I had a second tier bonus activated (like say, "Defibrilator"), it would show up as active when my player stepped to the plate. Since this patch, the only perks that show up as active when my player steps to the plate are the base ones (Beating Heart and Commander in Chief, for instance). Even if I have a second tier perk activated on either of those trees, it doesn't show up as active when I step to the plate.
These definitely used to show up as active. I still have an RTTS I saved pre-patch. The player is in the first week of the season and has no relationships on the team. (You are supposed to get the normal perk effect even with no friends/bros). When I play with that character, it shows all the perks I have activated as being active when I approach the plate. When I play with an RTTS created post-patch, it will only list the tier one perk (the ones that don't actually provide any bonus).

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Did they fix the draft?
I created a 3B/LF utility guy and was drafted 15 round pick 23 to the Indians and the next day, created a left handed RF/LF who was drafted 16 round pick 12 to the Twins? No influence by me, no special picking. Just went to the draft. Both guys had A potential and 53 and 54 overall. HOF difficulty.

2 were drafted 1st in the 15 round, one 1st in the 16th by, you guessed it, the Baltimore Orioles... I don't think they fixed it...
Only way to be drafted somewhere else for me is to sim the Scouts Day, have "D" potential and be drafted in the 20's... But the problem is that with "D" Potential, you get to the majors WAY later. (I think promotion is strongly linked to Potential and not only OV)
I made a test, put Trout on the Orioles to create a hole and LAA and Make BAL a powerhouse at CF... Still drafted by them in the 15...
Why the problem is fixed on some of you and not here? (Byw I've loaded every Patches and playing with the OS Roster)Comment

Hey man, can you look at my post one above yours? Would you mind testing and telling me if the perks you choose - the second tier ones - are listing as active when one of these players steps to the plate?Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Does anyone know if HR/9 is still a worthless stat in RTTS? I'm trying to get my SP to 99 without making him OP so HR/9 would be perfect for that if that's the case. Currently sitting at 94 OVR.Comment

I also tested quitting out of hitting and fielding/simulating showcase games multiple times and was drafted by a wide variety of teams, including the Orioles.Comment

This year they made that stat have an effect. In previous years it did not affect gameplay.Comment
