Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I was pretty lucky on this. Was asked to move to 1B and I raised hell to the point of a suspension. Ended up playing there for about 2 weeks and they moved me back.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Hi folks,
i only play RTTS mode and i really enjoyed it in MLB The Show 2018.
In the Show 19 it really annoys me, that “sim to next appearance” is not preset anymore.
And even if my setting lasts for the whole series, it still drives me crazy
Is there an option to change it permanently back, like it was in The Show 18?
Please excuse my bad English, but I am not a native speaker and I really try my best
Best regards and have a nice day

I don’t know if I just got extremely lucky or not but I got picked in the 15th RD by the Cubs as a 3B. Didn’t even do good in the showcase. First and only RTTS character I made. I’ll take it.Proud supporter of the...

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I saw a post somewhere, shownation or reddit, where they said if you strike out most or all of your bats and basically perform about as bad as you can that you can get "randomly" drafted. Same with pitching....walk everyone till you get pulled. I haven't tried it....but maybe works considering your reference to not doing good.Comment

Noooo. Please don’t change this back to how it was. Or at least offer the option of both. I love that we can at least see the game’s first pitch through the sim manager screen. Hated jumping right into my first appearance without knowing anything about what happened beforehand.PS4 | jamiedallaireComment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Osch..... It's a feature I miss as well. It really only impacts the first inning though, as once you turn it on after your first fielding experience or hitting experience it carries forward into your next games. I just hold circle until I can get to the option to change it. Kind of annoying, but doesn't bother me as much as it did in beginning.
Well, i thought i would get used to it after a while, but it still bothers me
At the Moment, i handle it the same way, as you described.
Maybe they can implement a function for choosing the preferred preset?
I think that would not be a big deal for them, but would give a lot of Players a lot of more fun
Best regards

You have to be in the majors AND be a starter. In training go to bullpen and scroll down.Closers don't get the option this year.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Yes, my RTTS character is proceeding moderately sensibly....
Got drafted by the Orioles (as did everyone else) but after raking at Double A for the first half of the season, they called me up to Triple A where I've been spending the rest of the year, mostly levelling up and hitting somewhere between .300 and .400. I suspect I'll get the call up in my second season.
I think the key is that I play LF (other than a brief stint where they moved me to 1B) and my path is blocked by Trey Mancini, who's not great but better than most on this Orioles team.
There's plenty of other positions where by the time you get to an OVR of 68, you're comfortably the best player at that position in the organization.
I think the bug is mostly in the fact that everyone's getting drafted by the same bad teams, not so much the way they handle promotion/demotion.
Just to update - I did indeed play out the whole of my first season in the Orioles' minor league system. A couple of months at AA, and then the rest at AAA.
This is despite the fact that they eventually traded away Trey Mancini leaving me as their best LF (both in terms of rating, and I also had the best stats at AAA as well).
Been added to the 40 man prior to Spring Training in 2020, and will probably end up as starting LF in Baltimore, assuming I don't suck, because (at 72) I'm their second highest rated offensive player
Could be a long season because a) I still struggle with pitchers that can throw at 95+ and b) the team is going to be epically bad.
But I can't complain that the game has promoted me too quickly - it's been about right for me...….Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
There has been quite a bit of talk about only being able to be drafted by the Orioles. I found this over in the show nation forums and wanted to share it, as it's a potential workaround. I'm not crazy about it....as it takes emphasis off of the showcase.... but it may get you randomly drafted. This was posted by Jgreene6142
"This is going to sound strange, but it worked for me with 3 new players. Quit the first skills test before you bat or pitch. You'll get the same skill, say 52, but potentional will be D. Sim the 2 showcases, they don't really matter anyways. Go to random team pick. Instead of being picked like round 15, it will be in the 20s. I got great random teams all three times. I skipped the first few teams to pick. I got TOR,LLA and Braves. It had no effect on my progression or skills, just a low potentional rating. Give it a try "Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
To "Solve" the draft issue, here's a tool I use : https://www.randomlists.com/random-m...ty=3&dup=false
Randomly select 3 MLB Team, so I used it as a "Draft" tool for my RTTS player. I pick my team based on position needs for the three teams listed. As an example, you want to be 3rd bases? If you get Cubs / Rockies / Phillies, better pick Philadelphia, unless you want to change position or be stuck behind a superstar...
I had a CF where I had to choose between the Rays / Angels / A's... I picked the A's.
I picked a Utility Archetype since I think Small Ball is too fast. It's too easy too early to field/Steal and you always get to be Lead-off so you have low RBIs opportunities. The other Archetype are either poor on defense or too slow. Utility has a nice balance, 75 speed with equipment, high durability and the low overall will keep me in the minors for just the right amount of time.Last edited by Map47; 04-25-2019, 08:30 PM.Comment
