I keep getting drafted by The Angels, Oakland and texas even when I redo the draft day stuff. So I went with the Angels. After putting up great numbers they made me a bench player and sent me back down. annoying.

I can confirm that these are being applied.... at least on my game. Something else I figured out is some of them will not apply, depending on how your settings are setup. For example, I wasn't seeing the "heartwarmer" perk being activated to improve teammate hitting when I'm on base. I switched my baserunning to "all" instead of "lead runner" or "action pitches" and this now triggers everytime I'm on base. I'll keep updating this as I figure out more of these.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Started a legit RTTS, 6'4 215b 1st baseman with the mr utility archetype with contact, fielding, and decent speed in mind (basically exactly the kind of player I was in HS). Finished the showcase with around a .450 BA, two doubles and a triple included. Then used a random team generator followed by a random number generator to pick my drafted team, which became the Rangers with the 7th pick. So my road starts in Frisco, Texas.

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Finally had a season with no injuries. Hit 21 HR with Baltimore. We went 71-91 & it sucked having to play at Boston as a LF so I didn’t re-sign. Wound back up with the Braves & hit a HR in game 1 of the new season, it was awesome in a homecoming storyline kind of way. Settled in after a torrid start and I’m batting .290 about 29 games in. Hoping I can eclipse 25 HR this season and hit .300. The team sucks again but hopefully they’re drafting well with all these bad seasons and my prime years we’re stacked.Twitter

For those that are SP’s, have you been able to increase your primary pitch velocity? My primary pitch is cutter, and every time I see the bullpen training for cut velocity and k/9, the velocity for the cutter never increases, only k/9. Still in first season, but I haven’t been able to increase my cutters velocity with training at allNow Playing: MLB 11: The Show, Battlefield BC2, Pokemon White, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2 (still), COD: Black Ops, FIFA '11

Commander in Chiefs
Clear for Takeoff
Fog of War
Recon
Hybrid Perk: Soul Link
Beating Heart
Defibrillator
Heart Attack
Ice Water Veins
That combination of perks is pretty awesome. Hitting around .330...30 HR, 85 RBI's. Should hit 35-40 HR and over 100 RBI's. Been playing on my Braves RF save with this setup. Have my player currently to a 86 overall. On track to win well over 100 games and the division. Ronald Acuna is an absolute beast....lead's Majors in HR's and currently first in MVP race.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Another update on these. The perks are FUN.... enjoying them. All of mine are working fine regardless of settings now. Current setup with these:
Commander in Chiefs
Clear for Takeoff
Fog of War
Recon
Hybrid Perk: Soul Link
Beating Heart
Defibrillator
Heart Attack
Ice Water Veins

It really sucks for me because I'm the type of guy that can't play a game if I'm not sure I'm getting all my bonuses. If this wasn't in the game, I'd be deep into an RTTS career by now. As it stands, I haven't played the game in weeks.
Edit:. You're having exactly the career I want to have! lol. I'm starting as a 3B for the Braves though with hopes of being moved to RF. Get that 1B, 3B, C secondary slots...Last edited by Jello; 05-13-2019, 12:08 PM.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
That's awesome but are the perks you have activated all showing up when your batter steps to the plate? Because like I've said, the only ones that show for me are Commander in Chief and Beating Heart. I have tried it with Defibrilator and Clear for Takeoff activated from my personality screen, but neither pop up as active when my guy steps to the plate.

I also believe they are working even if they don't appear on the screen. I use the one that gives increased power on a normal swing in a 2-0 or 3-1 count. I hit a homerun on a normal swing in a 2-0 count and only gained power experience, no contact.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Anyone else having an issue hitting homeruns in RTTS? In Franchise and other modes I hit a fairly realistic number of homers but for some reason in RTTS I struggle even with power hitters.
I've changed difficulties. Raised sliders. Changed hitting modes. Nada. I hit like .290 with my power guy but never launch it. If I was hitting say .240 but knocking a few into space I wouldn't mind.
This has made the mode almost zero fun for me as a hitter.Last edited by ASUBoy93; 05-14-2019, 01:35 PM."I'm all about that action, boss." - Marshawn Money Lynch

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
So..Im curious...Im on year 4 of my RTTS and noticed im not getting any injuries on the teams at all. Is this something i can correct from settings or do i have to start all over again?atleast..Its not DelawareComment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
In year 3 and I'm not seeing this. You can try adjusting the slider setting for injuries... increase them. You shouldn't have to start over. I'm not a big fan of alot of injuries.... but want enough to be realistic.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Had a fun little narrative in my RTTS that I thought I'd share.
After being called up in late July in 2018 and pitching to the tune of a 5-0 record, a 1.77 era and 99 Ks in 72 innings of work, I got relegated to long relief to start 2019 for the Detroit Tigers. I more or less pitched every 4th day and went an average of 3-4 innings. Some days I was exceptional and others I imploded. At around the middle of June, I had an era of basically 3.00 in around 50 innings of relief work.
But the tides would turn, as I replaced Jordan Zimmermann [our second best pitcher, mind you] in the rotation and would not look back. I threw two shutouts in my first two starts, both against the Cleveland Indians, and one of them being a complete game shutout. August is when I really took off however, averaging about 7 innings of work over 6 starts, and allowing only one run. I went about 35 innings in a row without allowing a run. I won Pitcher of the Month, and proceed to bring that luck into September, as my Tigers were out of a playoff push.
Despite being a reliever for half of the year, I pushed myself into AL Cy Young consideration. Despite allowing 3 runs in 6 innings of work in my last outing in September, I finished the season on a monster note. I got my era down to 2.11 while striking out over 240 batters in just over 200 innings of work. I finished with an 18-2 record and an AL leading 10 [!] pitching WAR.
And just like that, despite my Tigers being absolute trash, despite starting the season in the bullpen, I had secured the AL Cy Young award away from Cory Kluber, who was looking for a threepeat. Squashed my divisional opponent's dreams.
And then that offseason I signed a deal that was worth less then what I negotiated last year [by accident] ... even though I won the flippin Cy Young Award! Lol gotta love it.Comment
