No idea why the position change in RTTS is even in there. Ran into this in last 2 versions but was always switched back but had this happen to a buddy who played LF and got stuck his whole career at 1B. Genius idea to make someone play another position after they have created their RTTS character to play the position they want. I had this happen to me day before yesterday but they moved me back to RF. I objected when approached to the degree of getting benched for a few games. Zero entertainment value in this script - 100% annoyance. Just a suggestion here - lower the trade frequency in your sliders. It at least minimizes the excessive zero logic trades.

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
So my player is an 18 Year Old 2B, with a lot of power and speed. Got called up to the Dodgers straight from AA.. Was having a solid season, nothing crazy. Into late June I made the AA All Star Team batting .303 with 9HRs and 43RBI, and an OPS of .923 but it looks like injuries forced them to call me up as I’m the highest rated 2B in the organization thats healthy. Now that I’m in the Show and totally not prepared for it I’m batting .196 with 5HRs and 15RBI through 30 games.. I’m also committing a lot of errors because they keep sticking me at 3B. If I stay with the team through the season maybe I can prove my self in the playoff LOL.DODGERS-LAKERS-RAVENS-KINGSComment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I'm reading this everywhere I look. Called to majors too soon and then the grind is excruciating as you aren't leveled up enough to be successful without playing on a much lower difficulty. Is anyone playing this mode and currently posting in this forum having a different experience with this?
Yes, my RTTS character is proceeding moderately sensibly....
Got drafted by the Orioles (as did everyone else) but after raking at Double A for the first half of the season, they called me up to Triple A where I've been spending the rest of the year, mostly levelling up and hitting somewhere between .300 and .400. I suspect I'll get the call up in my second season.
I think the key is that I play LF (other than a brief stint where they moved me to 1B) and my path is blocked by Trey Mancini, who's not great but better than most on this Orioles team.
There's plenty of other positions where by the time you get to an OVR of 68, you're comfortably the best player at that position in the organization.
I think the bug is mostly in the fact that everyone's getting drafted by the same bad teams, not so much the way they handle promotion/demotion.Comment

Great feedback. Wish we had more of this and at one time these boards were full of it. This place is a ghost town now. ShowNation is active but it's an out of control hate fest. Your point at the end makes perfect sense but I wonder how many just "accepted" the Orioles only draft and didn't just choose their team. This has me curious enough to test the theory and selectively create another player who's path is blocked by maybe a veteran close to retirement or a player in the mid 70's to low 80's. In the last dozen years I'm more disappointed with this system in RTTS than any other. Baffled at the reasoning behind an overhaul of RTTS.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
I created a 3B and a SP this year. When the game asked me what team(s) I wanted to go to I said the Angels for the former and the Cardinals for the latter. Both my players were drafted in the 16th round by those teams.
In both cases, I tore up AA and then spent, I'd say 60% of the season, in AAA. Both the SP and 3B started in AAA for 2020 and both were called up surprisingly quick. For the Redbirds, I was the third starter in AAA. I made a handful of starts and the Cardinals called me up to start at Arizona. I didn't feel ready for the jump. I think I was around a 68. I got the first out on a pop fly. Then it was just a haze of doubles and homeruns. I didn't get another out. I got pulled after it was 6-0 in the first, with only one out and the bases loaded. I thought maybe they'd send me down, but they really wanted to punish me and I started the next game at Colorado. It wasn't as bad. 5 runs over 5 innings. Since then I've been trying to get my ERA under 5. One question I have is why doesn't the pitching coach come in to calm the player down?
The 3rd baseman was making like one start every 7-10 days for the Angels. So my agent calls. I say, "I want to be traded" since it's like June and I've played very sparingly. Either send me down to play or play me at the Major League level. I mean the 3rd baseman is 19 years old. He should be in A ball but that's a whole other thing. The agent says there's not much he can do and the club owns my contract for 6 years, etc. But then after a few days, the manager put me in the lineup and I have started ever since.Comment

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
The logic just seems to be off. I had to pick my team so I didn’t get picked by the orioles for the 7th time in a row. I make a closer and put him on the mariners who desperately need bullpen help and a closer. I tear up double a get a promotion to triple a after the minor league all star games. I played in both. Then at the end of the season I get traded to the Astros for some random shortstop which the mariners do not need help at especially after I tore triple a up keeping my era under 2 and striking out tons. Then I start in double a I tear it up there get promoted to triple a struggle and then stay the rest of the year in triple a getting destroyed from time to time. Start the next season in double a I’m now 20 and starting in double the third time tear it up get promoted tear triple a up no call up even though I have a sub 1 era. Then in the off-season I’m traded to the reds and then a day later traded to the Phillies. I start in double a again then make triple a a month into the season and stay there till I finally make the 40 man roster at a 78 overall don’t know how I wasn’t already selected in the rule 5 draft the season before when I was still in the mid 70’s but now I’m with the Phillies in spring training. I kill it with less than a 2 era and lots of strikeouts and then I start in double a again at 79 overall at 22-23 years old

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Sorry for the rant lol. It’s also just so annoying having to randomly select what team you want to be on so you don’t get drafted by the orioles I tried everything to not get drafted by them

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
It’s a cool storyline for sure I just love the mariners and wanted to play with all there players and they desperately need bullpen and closer help. So I didn’t think I would get traded. I was devastated when it happened

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread
Yeah, I wish this would get addressed. Surely it's not by design. No workaround either other than choosing your team. Playing one Braves save right now and that's it.Comment
