Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm curious as to why I consistently see way more injuries than other people. I constantly see people in the sliders threads complaining about injury rates being too low and turning up the slider.

Meanwhile I'm over here constantly threatening to be at or near the injury limit, and it's not just my minors. I've had plenty of in game injuries, ranging from minor (soreness/tightness lasting a week or so) to major. Right now, I've got CF Jarome Mauzoul out 1 to 2 months with a broken hand from sliding back to first base after a pickoff attempt, and SP Fernando Chavez out for the season with a cracked skull.

There was one point where I had 5 SP on the lists, causing panic and desperation for my AAA team (luckily the callups pitched well).

I'm over here with my injuries slider at 5. I wish I could say that it was just this season, but it's a common occurrence for me. I wonder what is different between me and other franchise players?

I do have one theory. I noticed that the team stayed healthy in my first year, way back in 2014. I thought it was just because things were different in the game back then, but is it possible that injuries are out of what for the first year you play a franchise?

                      Kaynle 83

We’re currently 94-15. Yes way too easy ik but i play on default HOF with just a few tweaks to (+1) to Cpu and User Timing, and user and cpu power sliders with a -1 to Player n CPU foul frequency)
We’re currently the 1st overall team 1st Pitching Contact and Power. 2nd in Defense. 5th in Speed. The team is stacked beyond belief.

Well, it is time to get into the 2021 season. I have already simulated through spring training and made all necessary changes to the lineup that needs to be done.

I just want to say that I deeply apologize for essentially hijacked this thread. That being said I think it is time for me to start a dynasty thread of my own over in that area.

so for those of you that might want to follow me there you can.

Good luck to each of you here going forward.

Cardinals close season with 5 game losing streak. Finish season 82-80

The Cardinals were swept by the Padres in San Diego and finished the season on a 5 game losing streak and conclude the 2024 season with an 82-80 record.

For a season that started with so much promise and expectations of winning a pennant and possibly a World Series, to finish the season 82-80, and not really in competition at the end of the season for a postseason berth, the 2024 season is one that the players, the manager, the coaches, the front office, and the fans will want to quickly forget.

The Cardinals will now turn their attention to the offseason and winter meetings as they look to bounce back from this let down in hopes that 2025 will find them back playing baseball in October.

Goodbye 2024 season, you were nothing short of insufferable.

I never post on this thread but I follow it.

Juan Soto has been in a total slump, but last night he won the game in the top of the 14th with a monster blast to RCF. Overall he was 5 for 7, with a single, 3 doubles, and that game winning HR.

I love the variation from game to game in the show, when you play every pitch of every game.

By the way, my franchise is the Indians, and I did a fantasy draft, that's why I have Soto.

There were two inductees into the Hall of Fame after the 2024 season:

                                1B - Miguel Cabrera - Detriot Tigers

                                1B - Joey Votto - Cincinnati Reds
