Sort of a mixed bag for me. When I play a series I can almost predict who the other team is going to be bringing in in each game of the series, sort of like set in stone. I haven’t tried messing with attributes/sliders/slots in the pitching rotation though. This is something SDS needs to figure out, no the gamer. Heck just a one batter lefty/lefty match up would be a start.

One batter will be gone in 2020 per mlb rules changes. Pitchers will be required to face a minimum of three batters. But I do get your point and yes this could stand to imrove. But I still have no complaints with bullpen usage as the CPU has played matchups with me before. But yes they can become predictable. Thankfully each pitcher's stuff can vary from game to game which keeps it challenging and fun.

if the Show adds the new rule, I'd sure wish there would be an option to toggle ON/OFF, for us classic roster users but I'm betting against that happening. in any event, I expect bullpen logic will be on a lot of folks minds next spring when that 1 batter faced rule takes affect.

In the game I just played the cpu brought in a righty to start the 8th against my 2 righty batters then brought in a lefty to face my next two lefty batters. So this does exist in the game.

Just to add on in the game I'm currently playing I had bases loaded in the bottom 8 down by 2 and the cpu went righty, lefty, righty out of their pen to face my 3 hitters.

I wish there was a way to see the CPU's stamina in these situations. I'm happy to hear this happened. If it happens more than once, even better. My skepticism has me questioning what the cpu bp's stamina's were... But still its good news in the grand scheme of things.

Curiousity has taken hold. What are your sliders, specifically pitching related, set at? Overall, it's great news though. I don't let my lack of skill hinder my team, so I'm straight sim. That's why I'm wondering. No way of witnessing in my own game.

Hitting on all star with human fouls at 4, cpu strike frequency at 3 all others concerning user hitting and cpu pitching unadjusted. I do hit on HOF some games as I'm trying to get better then I knock cpu control to 4 and bump strike frequency to 4.

I really haven't noticed significantly poor AI Bullpen logic. With A&S sliders on HOF the game plays splendid.

For those wondering, the AI definitely plays the matchups (lefty on lefty, etc). There is even commentary for it by Vasgersian.

Exactly what I'm seeing. I based my sliders off A&S but slightly tweaked them for my skill level.

I play with all sliders at default and notice the CPU make pitching changes based on matchups.

It doesn't always happen but it does happen.

Decided to buy MLB 20 on sale for $25. This bullpen logic is still of course a huge problem after only playing one game. So dug up this thread to refresh my memory. In the process of adjusting AI bullpens and will quick manage literally every game to get the best out of it.
