You are very stubborn, and hardline in your opinions. So when I see you accusing someone else if being closed-minded, I have to point out the hypocrisy.

Example: the majority of us regulars don't think there is a comeback code. The devs have repeatedly said there is no comeback code. And yet you are convinced otherwise. Evidence and experience don't seem to matter to you. We might as well be trying to convince an elephant it can fly.

I don't think you should be banned, but I also don't think you should expect to write such a volatile post and get no pushback either. We aren't here to be your personal echo chamber.

I'm convinced otherwise because I'm going to believe my own eyes and experiences rather than the experiences of others or what the developers say. It's insane to me how people don't realize that the developers have an agenda. They want to make more sales. Do you think they'd admit there was a little comeback AI if there was knowing that it would hurt sales? Of course not! But I've been experiencing this boost in ratings for years and it's honestly obvious. If you don't see it, kudos to you.

And I think that this is 100% the way to go.

But I also know first-hand that the danger here is in how we interpret what our eyes see. I've run into this a ton of times when doing sliders for many games. I'd see something (and yes, I trust my own eyes) but I interpret the mechanism behind it incorrectly.

What you are interpreting as a "comeback code" may be something entirely different mechanistically. I think it could be something as simple as that the CPU players get a boost in their clutch ratings on Legend (and HOF). That, in turn, could give them a perceptible buff in key situations, especially in the late innings (where the "dice rolls" seem to be tilted in one team's favor). But that's an entirely different animal than a script that kicks-in that "makes a team lose".

Re: Another Year of the Show Completely Wasted

Some people even say this ''code'' is in rookie level but if it were then other people who dominate even as low a level as all-star would get the comeback on rookie. That just isnt going to happen. If you are playing the appropriate level to your skill set then you will see a certain amount of games with a comeback. Even the '98 Yankees weren't impervious to blowing a lead here or there. Even this years Tigers made comebacks and won. Anyone who believes its coded into the game and sees ''too many'' are obviously playing on a higher level than they can handle.

This is the best baseball game ever made. Not even up for discussion imo. Just feels right.

              For what it's worth RE the "comeback mechanic";

I finished my 4th season with the Yankees before the holidays, winning my 2nd World Series in 4 years. The past 4 seasons I've won 93 games, 101 games, 97 games, and 103 games. I play on HOF hitting and pitching.

Maybe it is because my bullpen is one of my team's strengths, but a majority of my games are over if I have a lead in the 6th inning or later. That being said, there are some games where I will blow 1 run leads, or I will have a melt down and blow 4-5 run leads. It's part of the game. It happens in real life all of the time.

I've also done the same thing to the computer. I've shelled the CPU for 5 runs in the 9th inning; doing so as recently as game 6 in the World Series against the Braves. Now if that would have happened to me, I would have surely been pissed, but how come if I can do it to the CPU it is ok, but if they do it to me there is a comeback mechanic?

Sometimes blowing games is frustrating, but I really don't think that there is a hard code in the game that forces you to lose games. I chuck it up to the weird game of baseball.

P.S. Watch an entire Mets season, and how they constantly blow leads, and you will begin to think there is even a comeback code in real life!

I've been saying this entire time it's not a comeback code, it's a boost to the losing team's attributes. I've been saying this since they removed the option a few years ago. The boost is there.

You people need to read. I've never said it's a losing code. I've never said it's a comeback code. It's a boost to the attributes of the team that's losing, doesn't matter if it's human or cpu.

It’s because others like the game, accept it for what it is ($60 video game, not a several hundred dollar simulation tool), and have no interest in defending the game to people that aren’t smart enough to play games they like.

And for those that find X sport so important to them that they have to buy it, no one cares what the narrow minded think.

I bought a PS4 just to play The Show. While I would enjoy the game for a bit, I mostly tired of it, and find the gameplay to be rather boring. But, instead of posting here and wasting my time whining about a game, I just played something else.

I may or may not buy next year’s game. But if I do, and I find it still not be what I want, after buying the last two editions, then it’s on me, not SDS.

Smart enough? I love baseball. I have a child. I have a job. I run an online website. My time is limited so I play the games that try to represent the sports I enjoy.

Has there ever been a more realistic representation by console video game standards than MLB The Show 19?

                                Serious question.

I have played, and coached baseball for over 42 years now. I have never played a video game more representative of the sport it is trying to simulate better than MLB Show.

And I have played them all in terms of console baseball video games.

So yeah we all want a better game. But your exhaustive bashing of the game is beyond ridiculous at this point.

The game does so much more right than wrong.

                                And it’s fun.
