Re: MLB The Show 20 Livestream - March to October (Archive Included)
Presentation wise, I'm hoping that there's an option to have replays, starting lineups, defensive alignment etc show by default instead of having to opt-in every single time.Comment

All these ideas for other modes meanwhile old Gil from the Simpsons is sitting at a small desk in the closet working on franchise.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m play the hell out of franchise but I was holding out hope for some features to bleed into franchise but nope.
I’m just a little disappointed.

i liked how high heat did it where u could pick the replays you could watch like only home runs, or homeruns and K's, etc...Comment

I think the opt in is only prompted depending on you presentation style, like fast play for example. I could be wrong though, I'll have to go back and watch that part of the stream again.Comment

They did not mention anything on that one way or the other.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Livestream - March to October (Archive Included)
MtO got some needed upgrades (the big one being how they determine when you enter a game...very good use of leverage index) but the more I reflect on it, it's just not a mode for someone like me. I can't even stand quick counts, let alone allowing a simulation engine do stuff....then that wonky momentum thing....I'm just an every pitch kind of guy. I'm sure I will tinker with it a little...it just doesn't DO anything for me.
The trade screen. If it's in franchise....meh. If it's not....meh. I don't really need the game to hand-hold me when I am working trades....doing deep dives into rosters and the Player Search function is FAR more immersive for me.
--------------------------
Presentation....
I hated the location of the new scorebug in the Beta. That said, I'm sure I'll adjust to it. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the faster transitions; I prefer a slower pace but I think I'll be fine with it.
Happy to see Heidi back and with some new stuff....hopefully they've expanded her role in more day-to-day stuff.
Probably the coolest thing was the presentation for different eras. I NEED those overlays as options for presentation within franchise games....imagine playing a retro roster with them. If they aren't in the game, I'm going to be chirping about it anywhere I can....Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I think in one of the previous streams they said the new trade hub is also in Franchise and in Custom Leagues that is why they didnt show the trade screen during these streams because they wanted the reveal in the MTO stream. Wouldnt make sense either not to have it in franchise.Comment

Hopefully quick replay that was in the beta makes it into the final game...MTO needs multiple seasons.Comment

Pretty disappointed that the 3 presentation themes were scaled down to 2. Even if they ran out of time and resources because of the new UI (which was speculated in the breakdown), then why not just keep the three from last year. I would have been quite satisfied with that as they were all 3 quite good last year. Really give games a different feel.
Overall I think the writing is on the wall for this series. I was holding out hope that some things from MTO would bleed over into franchise but it looks more and more evident that won’t happen. You combine that with them scaling back on presentation features, and making things like replays optional just shows the direction we all know where this series is going. They want to focus on the DD and E-sports crowd.
Overall still pretty excited about the full minors being in, but as a Franchise only player I could see my excitement for the game dwindling in the near future:Last edited by Therebelyell626; 03-05-2020, 01:17 AM.Comment

Agreed 100%. I will not be thrilled if this is something that is force fed down our throatsComment

I just can't get into March to October. I've tried it, but it just does not appeal to me. I mainly play franchise. If I get tired of my franchise, I will usually play RTTS.
I wish they would focus more on stats and team issues such as injuries and trades in the commentary.
I do like the new scorebug.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Livestream - March to October (Archive Included)
one thing I noticed and I don't know if anyone picked up on it was secondary position under pitchers, of cause of Thor it said 'none' this means they might have 2 way players done right. and holds hope that we could have REAL utility players I don't remember secondary position ever really shown off before under a headline or am i wrong?
Dee Gordon had SS LF CF RF in the past it was just listed as OF. there is hope we could finally have this! or it might be just a MTO thing that is lockedComment

I think the pop stat info things are going to be great. Mlb 2k had this back in the day and it was a great way of quickly incorporating dynamic info without bogging the game down.
