No...in the 6 games that I've played of Spring Training, the homerun totals seem to be less than they were last year.

This is default Legend using zone hitting and meter pitching.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I may have to tamp down the CPU's ability as far as power and solid hits.

I am playing with my last year's slider set, and it seems to me, through my first fives games, they are really brutalizing me.

I'll play five more to get to my ten-game test run, but I might be considering lowering the CPU hitting one click across the board.

I'm also trying zone hitting with no PCI, and really struggling at the plate.

      Super fun game though.

I think it’s prefect IMO. Both the CPU and myself average about 1.5 per game each. This on totally default AS.

I turned the commentary off pretty early last year so it's hard to compare, but it seems to be really, really bad this year. Not boring or saying the same thing repeated, like always, but literally just talking about things that didn't happen. Like a pinch hitter getting a hit and them talking about how this pitcher is a good hitter so we shouldn't be surprised he got a hit, or saying the infield is aligned perfectly to stop a ball when it actually goes straight through a hole. Things like that.

Seems to be happening more than I remember on previous years, maybe they just have more context specific lines so it's more obvious, but it's getting turned off pretty soon as it's pretty jarring

I'm debating whether to get the game. I have 50 games left in my MLB '19 season, and have a great slider set. I would hate to transfer over then have to spend 10-20 games tweaking sliders.

Well, in a huge surprise, and a welcome relief to me (and others I am guessing), when you go the the Slider adjustment screen.... You can use your 2019 Slider set.

The game ports your sliders from 19 over, without having to re-do everything.

So, I started this year with my perfect set of sliders from last year, I'll play ten games, see the trends between the new stuff and the old, and make some minor adjustments.

Everything is so good this year... Just go get it.

I am seeing something with the “Themes” .
The “ Show Theme “ for me is better. Maybe it’s me, but the game plays so different in playing out animations.
Can’t explain it but the “MLB Theme” the animations seemed hyped or quick...

Having a great experience with 20..!

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread

I have been a Classic/Directional guy for a few years now, but this year, I decided to at least dabble with the zone hitting, and see what I thought.

It is harder that just timing, that's for sure.
I have only had two Perfect/Perfect hits in five games, and neither were homeruns.
The sound off the bat on Perfect/Perfect with the surround sound is glorious
I find myself trying to think like the pitcher, using the previous at bats as evidence, and I find myself taking more pitches than last year...
I LOVE that when you do work the count to batter-advantage, the excitement of sitting on that in-zone fastball is pretty awesome.
hit variety within the PCI's contact is simply superb
I have not hit a homerun yet in five games
I have not won a game yet.

Defense is improved and hella-fun with Analog throwing.
You really need to make sure your accuracy is on point.
Thank you SDS for bringing back a bit more aggressive baserunning by the CPU. Last year, you knew if he was running, the throw was off or going to be late, and he'd be safe. Not this year!

I love the "first step" and inertia/fielder movement. If that first step is wrong when you take control, you are in for a world of hurt. The fielders finally feel like there is some weight, and momentum to their running. Safe for when you are tracking down a fly ball, you had better start to slow down and figure out where to catch the ball. You pay dearly for just sprinting to the ball, and run the risk of a lower-rated outfielder having trouble fielding it cleanly or making an error.

So far, I am having a great time, and clearly the CPU got a bump up in their hitting skills this year out of the box. I am getting pounded like a rented mule on the mound.

Five more games to my ten-game set, and I'll report back in.

I finally tried using the Fast Play presentation and I can’t believe it but SDS actually implemented what I asked for in the Wish List thread! It is pretty much the same as it has been but on a HR, it actually shows you the hitter crossing home plate and celebrating with teammates as well as giving you the L2 option to view the replay. Then, after the final out it actually shows you the post-game celebration.

                      KUDOS TO SDS!!!!!

I've had my last 3 "perfect/perfect" hits wind up as outs. A liner speared by the SS, a grounder right at the 1B that ate him up but he recovered in time to catch my slow *** runner, and a grounder that the SS made a hell of a diving play on to nab me on a bang-bang at first.

Incredibly frustrating, but in the best way! I love that I can smoke a ball and it doesn't feel video gamey

The batting/pitching seems more fun and improved this year. Game and graphics are more polished.

One major beef at this point is the baserunning is still terrible. Not sure why they cant make this realistic in online. Twice in 3 games while using "advance all runner" my lead runner didnt advance while the runner behind him advanced causing an autistic backup and an out. So frustrating. You would think they could program it so things that would litterally never happen in real life from the absurd button smashing you need to do to advance runners sometimes,
                          CANT happen in the game.
Also, maybe it's just because I am not used to it yet, but throwing seems a bit too hard to hit the green and make good throws. In one game there were 13 errors between me and my opponent. Mostly all throwing errors. I liked 19 throwing meter way better. Hopefully I just get used to it.

Overall great game, but baserunning still autistic af.

When I have a runner on 2nd and a hit to the outfield, more often than not my runner cannot make a smooth turn to head home. Is this a bug or do I just suck and doing something wrong?

Playing my first game now MIL @ PIT in PNC (w/ Bacon's fictional roster). First, how pretty are the new Brewers unis? Second, digging Rusty Valentine's tighter strike zone. I hope it's a sign of a smaller overall zone, especially high. Always aggravating to see high corner strikes called. Third, had my first perfect/perfect with my 95ovr 3-hitter, a 109 mph smoked base hit to RF to drive in my first run of 2020. Fourth, yes these fictional Buccos are way more fun than the real Bucs... At least against left-hand pitching!

The game is largely the same as it was last year, but that's fine. The PS4 hardware was already outdated the day it was released 7 or 8 years ago. With next gen coming next year with modern beefy specs, I expect things to vastly improve on all fronts.
