The variety of this game is unmatched in the console sports game genre.

My year 4 Yankees on an 8 game winning streak roll into Target Park to face the lowly Twins (they stink on my carry over franchise) for a 4 game series.

They shut my bats down as I lose 2-1.

    Incredible.

Pros: The game has a less heavy handed feel this year , near perfect for playing with classic pitch on allstar near default as nothing feels to overdone to try and mimic the randomness of baseball.

I'm playing a 1977 season with real baseball players and its amazing how the creators of these rosters made them look so spot on even better then most in game models for my base.

Just about done editing all the rosters down to eye color, gloves ect haha and it just brings back great times and real stars of the day .

Cons : For someone who heavily customizes I wish we could setup old mlb rules, amount of teams in a league and move teams around like Astros to NL and Brewers to AL in playoff mode. Also give a option to turn off those silly celebrations that would've got you a ball in the ear back in the golden era of the MLB as it destroys the realism. Customizing teams and ball parks leaves much to be desired and have fun trying to create a 70s Astros Jersey thats already in the game ?

Overall I give this game a 7 out of 10 as its incredibly fun and immersive even with the limitations I mentioned above .
Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !

Completely agree on league customization. Would love to replay, for example, the 1968 season, with two 10-team leagues, or the 1976 season with four divisions of six teams. I'm thinking maybe difficulty in generating schedules is the main reason they're unable to do that.

It's a minor thing, but there are several animations they need to scrap:
        1. A pitcher wouldn't toss the ball in the air to the manager while coming out of the game. He'd be suspended for insubordination.
        2. Enough of the butterfingers reliever dropping his glove on the way to the mound.
        3. New thing I noticed after not having played since 17, too many instances of over-exuberant players gyrating and celebrating after routine singles. Pitchers often pumping their fists or celebrating after strikeouts. Save these celebrations for big moments.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

I'm 11 games into my restarted franchise. With those slider tweaks, the game is playing perfectly for me. Hit variety is crazy now, in a good way.

This is ONLY for people who confirmed already have the game.
With 44 different hairstyles now available, you can pretty much use one that is appropriate for a given player you create. The trouble is unless you can access that given player's picture without his cap on, it's pretty difficult to be spot on. One thing is sure though, those hairstyles look so much more natural than the players created by SDS. No comparison ! When a pitcher lifts his cap while on the mound, you can immediately figure out... who the better barber is ! That's one aspect of the game that sure needs a major overhaul with the advent of PS5 next year. Let the curls float a little bit !

Equally frustrating when you don't score when you have the bases loaded and no outs lol.

Yeah, but ain’t it great? I’m 36-35 in my season with my fantasy Miami Blacksox and I’ve groaned at my mismanaging my bullpen, laughed at getting a cheap blooper to win a game, and like you, wondered why I couldn’t get at least one run out of a no out, bases loaded situation. But it’s all good.

Half way thru last years game it got really stale with me, but not this year. Look forward to picking up the controller.

I actually had it happen to me in the same game. I got out of a no outs bases loaded jam in the 4th inning and then in the 6th didn't score with no outs and bases loaded.

I got the Phillies to ground into a 1-2-3 double play and then a foul out by the next hitter. Mine was a line out to shortstop, strikeout and then a ground out to second.

I forget what year it was but cpu had bases loaded no outs against me. Somehow someway I turned a triple play. I still don't know what happened lol.

I feel like every year the sound/s of the ball off the bat get praised and are said to be even better than before and so true to life, but I've never been that satisfied with how it sounds, especially if you then go and watch a game on television.

However, this is the first year where I'm absolutely floored by how great it sounds when you make great contact, foul something off, etc. Every time the ball makes contact with the bat, I'm elated with the sound, and there are so many.

To me, it's the most realistic it has ever sounded, and highly increases the immersion factor.
