Thanks I've been watching baseball tonight clips to get ideas and help make better videos. I always try and throw to first to catch someone not hustling. Last year I was able to catch a lazy base runner at second.

I throw to first too but it's been a couple of years since I got somebody. Nice that you captured it.

My Raleigh Capitols 2020 season is over! We started out 1-9, were 9.5 games out at the break, then went 24-5 in August to leap the rival Mets to win the NL East by 2 games (93-69).

We faced the Cubs in the NLDS. Down 2 games to 1, Game 4 in Wrigley was the turning point. Up 2-0 in the top of 3rd, my SP Zimmer pulled his groin and my 5th starter Dickerson came in and got rocked! That was it, season over.

The Portland Beavers (Colorado Rockies) won the WS.

Caleb Graybow from my Capitols won the NL MVP. Great story, he was rated 79 at the start of season (rated 86 now at the start of 2021 season.) Didn’t start at 3B till mid-April after I traded my opening day 3B. Caleb hit .320 41HR 112RBI. Also won a Silver Slugger.

Rookie Catcher, Freddy Gonzalez (65 rated start of 2020 season) his main pos is 3B, but thankfully one of his other pos is C, won the NL ROY .278 31HR 78RBI.

Had a really fun year, looking forward to season 2.

        Great job Bacon[emoji1360]Adjustments.jpg

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

So I am in 2023 of my Atlantis Aliens franchise and coming off my first WS win. Jaylen Pain won WS MVP for me after joining the team via trade in the offseason.

In my last game before the 2023 AS break, I did something that I have never done while playing MLB the Show: threw a perfect game.

Playing against an overmatched Indians team starting a couple backups, Tim Redd had 12ks in his perfect game. I was helped by a couple factors:
            1. Wind was blowing in 10MPH so I stayed up in the zone and got a lot of fly balls.
            2. The Indians had 4 or 5 crushed line drives that went right to Pain at 3rd and Triplett at SS

Overall it was a great experience with a great roster. This roster is keeping me going longer than I have in the past couple iterations.

I'm in year 1 of my Cubs Franchise and I also traded for Jaylen pain in spring training along with Dario Suarez, they were both on Detroit. I can't hit with him for some reason. He's a great defender but I think he's hitting in the .230 range.

Half way through Spring Training now. Slightly better results 4-7 during this 2 week stretch giving us an overall record of 5-12 so far. At the plate have been fairly solid and the defense is remaining stout the pitching is my early worry right now. My number 2 Alec Thigpen got rocked in his last outing. Can't figure out how to pitch with Greg Dickerson and Hitoki Oshiro. They both feature a sinker as their 'A' pitches and get knocked around. Hopefully ST isn't a sign of how the regular season will go.

Yeah he does not hit for average but batting average is irrelevant to me really. I care much more about his OBP and OPS which are generally in the .300s and .800s for me which is good enough for what I am paying him and his role on the team (hits 6th for me). And as you mentioned, he is a very good defender at 3B.

I struggle with Oshiro a biy too. Hes either on or off for me. Never seems to be a middle ground. You have to be careful with guys whos no 1 pitch is something other than a FB.

I had Dickerson for a year. I used him change up away, slider inside, snuck a lot of high inside FB for many strike 3s.

OK, finally settled in w/ my hometown Dodgers after lots of feckless franchise wandering.

I got to 4-0 w/ a sweep of the Giants early on and a w vs. COL in the first game.

The players are very well done and offer a really intriguing mix of abilities/weaknesses.

I already have a healthy fear of DJ Porter and a bit of a rivalry w/ Ramon Domoromo, whose ratings are not amazing but who just seems to get to me in crucial situations.

After his second start, I'm in love w/ my knuckle-baller Villegas. He's getting deep into games and has been impossible to nail down for opposing batters. I'm sure I'll run into a stretch where the ball isn't moving as much as I need it to, but man has he been fun to use in the early season.

Also, I had an INJ to my starting C and had to bring up the 3rd C on my 40 man, who is horrendous at catching. It was cool to have to get really creative w/ my pitching when I had to trot that C out there. He simply could not catch pitches breaking into the dirt or well out of the zone, so I had to tightrope and pitch within the zone and hope for the best. Cool nuance not to have a very deep roster at C and to have to make real, consequential game play decisions as a result.
