Pitching seems to be the biggest issue at the moment. In fact, my ace, Blondie Pena is playing terrible over his first 4 starts. He sits at 0-3 with an ERA over 8. I know that it is still really early in the season, but he is all sorts of angry about his contract that he just signed for 18.5 mil over 5 years. He thinks he should be getting upwards of 27 mil. I am seriously considering trading him at this point. I feel like I could get a good/cheaper SP and maybe an upgrade at 3rd base. Any suggestions?

Or, maybe I should ride out the early season struggles and hope for the best.

In either case, I am certain that I will continue to have a great time in this fictional universe. Thank you Bacon for all your hard work.

I see that you have Dylan Clark in LF, that dude is a beast when he gets on a hot streak. Reminds me a lot of Jose Bautista who when he was hot I don't know if there was a better hitter, but his cold snaps were Ice cold.

After a rough spring training and leaving with an injury after only facing 2 batters in his first regular season start. I've finally had a good outing with Dickerson. He didn't give up his first hit until the 4th inning. I'll consider his acquisition a success if he can finish under his career ERA and finish at or just above the .500 mark.

Also the minor league games are getting ready to start in my Franchise and I've decided to play 25 Triple-A games and 10 Double-A games over the course of the season.

Just to share my strategy that works for me with Minor Leagues. I play both teams on a rotating schedule with the Pitchers. I play each teams No.1 Slot then I skip the next 5 games and play the N0.2 Slot skip 5 starts etc etc. That gives me a good number of games and time with the Squads to get a feel of what the future looks like.

Cool that was similar to what I was planning. Except I was going to skip every 10 games for the AA games as I wasn't sure how interested I'd be playing those games. How'd you go about deciding who played at what level in the minors.

Honestly I really try to ignore overalls and base my choices solely on ability and performance. Its hard to do because its always in your face, but I try. As a general rule, nobody makes the 40 man until they are on par or better with the person ahead of them. With these wonderful rosters I have set up my own little world of Baseball and have committed to the slow burn of really getting into the world.

Other than that I do play every game of Spring Training. Which is where I fell in love and became a full card carrying Baconite (trademark pending). When it really sank in that I had no clue who anybody was, on any team? Man I really started to pay attention and games and stats just started to take on a whole new meaning. It was no longer that Real World All Star and Future Hall of Famer at 2nd base, it was an unknown scrub who couldn't hit water falling out of a boat. But wait a minute? 90 Fielding 85 Reaction and 75 speed this kid is beast at defense, NOTHING is getting by him. So ok lets adjust the roster and see if we can get a bat behind him. Oh hell he can steal anytime he wants. So on and so on.

I was honestly ready to give up on The Show. Now honestly not all of my issues were with the game. Some were personal, anxiety, depression and such. Sometimes I get really overwhelmed with the world and just go to a dark place. I restarted so many Franchises last year. I played almost 500 games last year and did not have a franchise make if past April. Now I am just passed the All Star break and having more fun that I have in years.

I should probably post on here more, it would probably do me some good. So shut off from the world right now. Its pretty bad.

I am just starting my first regular season. I took a different approach with the draft and simply went for power. I think everybody can hit it out of the park at any time. If I have a guy that only bats well and powerfully against lefties, I drafted someone that can smashes righties. My pitching is no good after my #1 and #2, but I should be able to run up the score on most teams.

It has been a rough season for the Spartans (52-66). They had the first overall pick in the inaugural draft (taking Chip Wolf) but all they have to show for it is a last place standing. They quickly fell behind 6-0 in the 2nd against the Nashville Blues (55-62), who have slim Playoff hopes as they sit 7.0 GB of the Wild Card spot.

                  W: Ben Obermueller (7-8, 3.42 ERA) 6.0IP, 2ER, 8K
                  L: Wane Venner (10-5, 3.49 ERA) 1.2IP, 6ER, K

                  NSH - Nick Brown: 1-4, HR (5), 3 RBI (17), 2 R (21), BB
                  NSH - Howard Thompkins: 2-4, 2B (21), 2 R (77)
                  IND - Avery Phillips 1-4, HR (24), 3 RBI (70), R (57)

What prospects have yall developed and are productive at the major league level?

Keenan Taylor is a gawd amongst men. With him, Gene Levine, and Edgardo Peralta all in my lineup, I think I cornered the market on the power hitting prospects

The main prospect that is now in majors for me is Max Grubbs. Due to his awful fielding, his overall is only in the low 70s but the dude absolutely rakes. He is starting at DH for me this year after being called up halfway thru the previous season. I’m excited to have him for a full season.

The Vancouver Mounties (58-63) may have the slimmest of postseason hopes but they're still fighting. They picked up a dominating 5-0 win over the Alaska Yetis (49-70) thanks to a stellar performance by Tom Shields, who tossed a complete game for his 10th win. A first inning two-run homer was all that he needed and the team added runs on sac flies and groundouts later.

                        W: Tom Shields (10-6, 3.44 ERA) 9.0IP, 0ER, 12K, 2 H
                        L: Brady Journell (5-11, 3.31) 5.0IP, 4ER, 5K

                        Isaac White: 3-4, HR (29), 2 RBI (81), R (76)
                        Speedy McGee: 2-4, 2B (27), R (61), SB (26)

16 games into the regular season and I've already played 6 extra inning games totaling 39 extra innings. I hate extra innings games in The Show. Mentally I check out after 11 or 12 innings especially in what will most likely be a meaningless early season game. The commentary becomes extra repetitive and there's no difference to the atmosphere of the game.

I've now played about 8 or 9 games in my new Fictional Franchise (Bacon's rosters) and had a unique occurrence over the weekend. My cleanup hitter, Matt Peterson, had a double and triple early in the game - then in the 7th he goes back to back with Paul Keys to leave him a single short of the cycle. I ended up with a big inning and Keys hits another HR in the 8th to bring Peterson up again. So I'm thinking all I need is a single to complete that cycle, and then BOOM...homers again! Back 2 back AGAIN with keys in consecutive innings!! I'm loving this roster set!
