The "update" takes a slightly different approach so I'll admit that not all of you will like it more than the original from March but I'll explain why.

Similar to the last two years, my update consists of me removing any generic MiLB/FA players whom I didn't create then I replace them with filler "New Pitcher/Fielder" players. However, the total pool of players I have created continues to grow, therefore this roster isn't too far off from the March release.

    tldr;
It's a summation of my entire work but some of you will think it's worse or wrong (but it's not).

AH!! Thanks for the update Bacon! I'm definitely in the "must have 90 players" camp; I'm still going to check it out though

I am sure this will be excellent. Having never used these rosters before I decided to go with just a straight Fantasy draft, so players are all over the place anyway. I am so excited to get to discover a whole new world. FYI Rex West is my favorite so far.

A little scouting report for you. There is a rookie(28yrs old) on the Angels, Marcus Daniels that I traded for. 61-D . I wanted him mainly for a 1b Back up, he's a 1B/Lf/Rf. He has worked himself into the lineup. In 186 AB, 48 hits, 15 hr ( 75 pwr vs RHP) 37 rbi. .258 avg/OBP .356/OPS .931. I also have an aging outfielder with a big contract that I'll probably try to move in the offseason so Daniels has a starting job.

EDIT: And on cue he comes up with this game against the Dodgers! 2 walks to go along those stats as well

Did you edit Marcus Daniels' appearance? On my game he's got a long brown beard and is left handed.

Their hopes aren't high but the San Antonio Outlaws (55-56) have now won six of their last seven games to crawl within a game of .500 thanks to a 6-1 victory over the Minnesota Knights (42-70). That pulled the Outlaws to 6.0 GB of the Wild Card spot on 8/1/20.

            W: Vince Cartwright (12-3, 2.63 ERA) 9.0IP, ER, 12 K
            L: Rosales (5-12, 4.78 ERA) 6.0IP, 3 ER, 4 K

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

Well I had my Fictional Franchise Draft last night and made my first 20 or so picks before letting it autodraft the rest, but then somehow backed out as soon as it was over and lost the whole draft. So I only made my first 12 picks the next time before autodrafting, and the AI did me no favors. Anyhow, my team is the Portland Squatch, and I at least was able to get my original first pick again the second time... That being Paul Keys. He rewarded me with a 2-run jack in his first at-bat!

I like most of my team but I'm super thin at each position. I kind of wish I'd have did more of the drafting as I like to have more versatility with my players, but almost all of mine only play one position (with the exception of my OFs). I don't have much help in the minors either... I'm really on the fence about whether I should just such it up and redraft again. But anyway... My starting lineup:
              2B Eddie Flores 83OVR
              SS Jorge Vera's 88
              CF Paul Keys 98
              RF Matt Peterson 83
              C T.J. Mercer 85
              1B Elijah Weeks 80
              DH Edwin Escobar 79
LF Miguel De La Cruz 69
              3B Stewart Threets Jr. 69

My #1 pitcher is hard-throwing Edwin Rodriguez, and I also have Ed Money that I'm planning on DH-ing vs LHs.

I did change his facial hair but that was it. He bats left throws right. The only thing i change in these rosters are some players facial hair, a couple faces and one name. All the attributes that were given by bacon are untouched. I like coming here and reading about certain guys doing well or not so well. Almost like we're giving scouting reports. And If I changed anything ( except some facial features) it would be pointless.

Edit: I did change his number too, I think it was 66 or some number up around there

The Carolina Reapers (58-54) has been making a late season push for the Wild Card. This huge win over the New York Turtles (52-61) helped get them closer. It moved them to 3.5 GB of the Aliens. They were pushed by a leadoff home run from Michael Jernigan (15). New York responded with a run but that's all they would get. The Reapers added two more in the 2nd and another in the 8th to seal it.

                    W: Tanner Wood (12-7, 2.70 ERA) 6.2IP, ER, 7K
                    L: Benito Martinez (4-11, 4.51 ERA) 6.0IP, 3ER, 4K
                    S: Max Blue (29, 1.85 ERA) 1.0IP, 0ER, K
                    Stars: Dominique Durazo 1-2, 2 RBI (45), R (40), 2B (26)

Well after playing my opening 4-game series vs the Yukon Yetis, I can safely say I'm definitely NOT redrafting and starting over. I really really like my team! I drafted strong D up the middle and I feel like my middle IFs can get to almost anything (Eddy Flores and Jorge Veras)... And Paul Keys started out super hot for me. Speaking of hot, I absolutely am loving my catcher T.J. Mercer! Dude was a doubles machine in the opening series. I also like that he and RF Matt Peterson look like they could've came straight out of a softball beer league. 😆 Once I get a few games under my belt I'll have to post some pics to show off the unis. Thanks for the great roster set, Bacon!

Nice! The Yetis play in Shibe Park and its deep alley in LC, so in the 2nd game Keys went triple and double in his first two ABs...I just knew he was going to hit for the cycle. (he didn't).

MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

I am having a ton of fun with my rebranded Astros Franchise as the Las Vegas Aces.

I decided not do a fantasy draft, so I’m playing with the original fictional Astros. We are struggling to start at 6-15. I am trying to decide if I need to shake things up or ride this out a little.

Pitching seems to be the biggest issue at the moment. In fact, my ace, Blondie Pena is playing terrible over his first 4 starts. He sits at 0-3 with an ERA over 8. I know that it is still really early in the season, but he is all sorts of angry about his contract that he just signed for 18.5 mil over 5 years. He thinks he should be getting upwards of 27 mil. I am seriously considering trading him at this point. I feel like I could get a good/cheaper SP and maybe an upgrade at 3rd base. Any suggestions?

Or, maybe I should ride out the early season struggles and hope for the best.

In either case, I am certain that I will continue to have a great time in this fictional universe. Thank you Bacon for all your hard work.

Talk about an offensive explosion! The Dallas Mustangs (60-55) pulled within half a game of the Wild Card spot with a 21-4 drubbing of the Gamblers (63-52). There were offensive stars everywhere, with three players racking up 4 or more RBI. It all started with a simple double play ball in the 2nd. Vegas shortstop Alazar threw it away, allowing a run to score. The next pitch was a three-run homer and Dallas never looked back.

                              W: Rodney O'Malley (6-11, 5.71 ERA) 6.0IP, 4ER, 7K
                              L: Aiden Patton (10-8, 4.10 ERA) 2.1IP, 4ER, 0K

                              Ty Alexander: 3-4, HR (17), 4 RBI (55), 4 R (59), 2 BB (64)
                              Clark Pike: 3-4, 2 HR (13), 6 RBI (44), 4 R (42)
                              Chad Taylor 3-5, HR (8), 4 RBI (52), 3 R (56)
