That game has issues too, but it's not nearly as bad as other years. Not even close. It's the best Show in my opinion and people will be doing community rosters for a long time.
Even better would be if there were rosters for the PS2 versions, those games were incredible. But pretty much everything you listed as frustrations is everything I experienced on the PS4 Show. So, I stopped playing it.

I have 2015 and played a half season there. Won the Series but the fun in that game was the challenge of it. My Indians never hit homers and I felt like I was playing little league baseball with nothing but singles and doubles. But at least I could pitch and field good.

Playing a season on 2019 and I’m only 10 games in sitting at 4-6. My pitching has been horrendous (yet I am a Hall if Fame + level) and my hitting is just Rookie +. Homers are possible but I’m at the bottom of the team rankings. But the dropped balls, misplaced balls over the head, and 2B fielding is a constant problem. At first I just gave props to the CPU great hitting some perfect pitches, but it feels more like my guys line out each time and the CPU makes plays no matter the situation

I think it's that way with a lot of the games calculations trying to keep things in line for a "season". They overboard, then under board to almost a severe manner. IE 3 games of less the 4 hr's and then a game with 9 total. Just an example. Again though, these are just my humble nobody opinion. If I had any brains, I wouldn't be a parts manager for a living lol. The stats are there and the game represents it there for a whole season, it's just how it gets there (more then likely so all games don't feel the same) that needs to be tweaked.

That 17 pitches per inning includes innings where one or more batters gets on base. That situation does not matter for my pitchers. None of them gets out of an inning in less than 15 when no one gets on base, and most other innings are between 20 & 30 consistently, with the occassional 40+ pitch inning. That's why I try to use the pitch aggressive option when they have an 0-2 count but they still manage to get it up to a 3-2 count. I do see opposing pitchers, every game, having innings with less than 10 pitches. I never see that with any of my pitchers. That 14 pitches to that pitcher came after retiring the first two batters on 3 pitches. What bothers me is they can't have a 1-2-3 inning in less than 15 pitches.

That's why I look at pitches per batter and we average just over 5 and when I check the pitching data after every game, the pitch count for both of my teams is, on average, around 180. We've never gotten close to 146, even in games where we pitch just 8 innings.

I have to say that the pitch counts may have something to do with the aggressiveness of batters, but every team we play the batters rarely swing at pitches out of the zone. The batters on both my teams (Dodgers and Astros) prefer to swing at ridiculolusly obvious balls then watch the 3rd strike down the heart of the strike zone then have the nerve to look back at the ump and say something. My batters tend to piss me off a lot of times with the junk they swing at. lol

I’ve been playing this game since 2008 and love it. It has its bs moments, but I just look at it as a video game, something that takes my mind off everything else for a while.

I got burned out on it last year, didn’t finish the year, but not this year. After discovering MOM every game (win or lose) has been great.

The game has it's querks, but I'll never stop playing it. It's the only game I play all year long.

The only way I'll stop playing is if MLB keeps these dumb rule changes and team name changes. Then I'll just play the last version forever.

He had a 1-2 count for most of the AB. I think he would have walked had he not been swinging at everything. lol

The average pitches per AB IRL is just under 4. The show is between 5 & 6 somewhere, at least in MoM. Even telling pitchers to pitch aggressive doesn't work. I don't think that option has ever worked.
Presumably, if the pitcher is throwing more than 20 in a single inning, a lot are being fouled off? Adjust the foul ball slider in that case and you should see fewer of them.

I played all 162 + post-season games a year ago, carried over 18 -> 19 and played every single AB and threw every single pitch. Over the season I adjusted my sliders and eventually found that there was a sense with default sliders that something under the hood was cooking the outcome a bit predictably. However, once I adjusted them one way or another it put the outcomes under my control much more and I enjoyed it better.

                      Re: I think I'm done....

My biggest complaint is, too many games feel scripted.

I'll be cruising along with power pitchers... borderline unhittable.. then all of a sudden I'll inexplicably miss a spot and get tattooed.

And the reverse with hitting.. admittedly, I struggle.. but I'll be practically be getting no-hit, then swat a no-doubter, or have a string of doubles and put up 4 runs.

That is baseball, I suppose, but it happens with too much frequency to be be passed off as an anomaly.

Yup. A ton of fouls. I'll have to do as you suggest.

Can you tell me what sliders you've adjusted?

I feel the same way. Might as well play games with your eyes closed.

The best is cruising in a tight low scoring game, grinding out a small lead. Then in the 8th or 9th inning your best defender boots a ball for no reason on a routine play and then the flood gates open and you end up losing because everything they hit finds a hole. Happens literally all the time
