Re: I think I'm done....
How exactly does energy impact pitching? Does it literally lower the pitcher's attributes?Comment

Re: I think I'm done....
All I can say is I check the pitch counts and after 5 innings I’m looking to the bullpen, maybe just up and tossing. If the pitchers confidence is up he can do okay when the green bar is getting low, but I’ve stuck with a pitcher “one more batter” and it’s bitten me. I’m sure this has lots to do with that “comeback code”. If you let it go to yellow...open the spigot and hope your bullpen is warmed up.Last edited by KnightTemplar; 07-30-2020, 01:30 PM.Comment

Comeback code is exactly what it feels like. Feels like the CPU has to make sure that the game is even by the end and won't ever let it finish lop sided.
It's probably just confirmation bias though. It's obviously frustrating to give up a 5 run lead, whereas making a 5 run comeback feels fun.Comment

Re: I think I'm done....
Here's the thing. The TOUGHEST innings in a game are the 5th through 7th. You've likely gone through the lineup a couple of times - you HAVE to change things up that third time through the order. Even if stuff has been working all game, that third PA is tougher to pull off. This is where the game excels, you HAVE to change your tendencies - incorporate your quarternary pitches more and keep the hitters off-balance. Many real-life pitchers struggle the third time through the order (often due to lack of a 4th viable pitch or a tendency to rely on 1 or 2 pitches).
You have to have a quick trigger on mound visits during this time and gut it out a bit more.
I've had games where I've been able to ride things out and others where I haven't - and THAT is the fun of baseball.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: I think I'm done....
Was just playing Game 4 of my season, Brewers vs Cardinals.. Had the extreme shift to the right on for Carpenter, also in DP depth due to a guy on 1st.
Grounder hit to the 3rd baseman on the left side, Im thinking "nice, easy double play to end the inning. Im already down 3 in the 6th, i needed this." Nope... Arcia playing up the middle just stands there, and Sogard waits for HIURA, FROM SHALLOW RIGHT FIELD, to run over to second. Sogard waits for FOREVER, and then throws a light toss to second, after the runner already slid in. So not only does this game not have the AI programmed to have Arcia run to 2nd, but it ALSO doesnt have the AI programmed to throw the ball to 1st in the event there isnt anyone at 2nd to throw to.
I get I could "possibly" get around it by using manual fielding, but 1) throwing to 2nd would still throw the ball to Hiura who isnt anywhere close to the bag, and 2) if im using auto fielding, the AI shouldnt do dumb stuff like that. If I want to utilize the shifts and depths both at once, I should be able to do so without dumb stuff happening.Last edited by itsmb8; 07-31-2020, 12:50 AM.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

This is why I always mention that I play MoM when I discuss issues. It let's people who manually do things know that it isn't necessarily anything they are doing but it is how the AI plays when it's controlling things which means it's programming issues. You notice that people come up with a "work around" or solutions, but very rarely do more than a few come up with the same workaround. Most of that is because everyone has different skill levels then combine it with the issues caused by the programming.Comment

Re: I think I'm done....
Two gripes with the game as a whole.. baserunning on balls hit to the gap that are DEFINITELY gonna be doubles and the lead baserunner just stands halfway between the bag like a deer in the headlights.. the other is something I could be making up but I've noticed it so much that I wonder if anyone else had experienced it.... after a homerun is hit the next batter is going to mash a ball somewhere, it may not end up as a hit but it usually doesComment
