So is the thought we will get Y2Y back starting with ‘21?

If so, I can make that sacrifice. I’ll have to do some work with the rosters to get ‘my team’ back... but it will be okay.

It’s more the hope I think at this point

Hope RTTS isn’t the same pre draft games and cut bad scenes re-printed crap. It’s like they put no time into it. Not buying it until a couple days after release.

Revamped is a strong word. And can imply big changes.

“Updates” to franchise mode is a different perception than revamped.

March we will find out what all this means.

Revamped was removed because right as they were about to finalize the code, someone mistakenly hit the delete button [emoji23]

I know it was never explicitly stated, but to throw preorders up and have franchise "revamped" and then pull it is not a good business practice.

I am sure that the wording was ran by every suit possible. To change that out now is not a good look.

Franchise is going to be what it was going to be regardless of what adjectives they use to describe it.

We will know what it involves in the coming weeks and people can determine then if the game is still worth keeping/earning a preorder or not.

One thing I'm really hoping they update, is that god awful looking 2d baseball when you're batting and there's a foul at the plate or a pitch in the dirt. It's just an eyesore especially when the rest of the game is so detailed and beautiful. And let's hope the dirt and the grass get updated too. I'm so excited though for '21. Got the Jackie Robinson collectors edition pre-ordered for both my PS5 and my Series X.

Call me lazy or call me unartistic, but having to create logos from scratch, piece by piece really limits the use of the suite for me.

I feel like those things would really unlock the potential of that suite, but the fact that it's been relatively unchanged for the past couple years and doesn't have these things, makes me wonder if they're not allowed for some reason?

I can't help but reference NBA 2k's expansion and uniform suite and it's amazing. It's nearly limitless.

I don’t think it was explicitly stated but it’s a guarantee it has never gotten past the idea phase. You only have to see some of the CAP names and team names in DD to realise how image uploads would be abused and potentially harm the E classification.

Exactly. I'm not afraid of what the changes in wording mean. It's SDS that needs to be afraid that I won't find the changes worthy of my time. If I'm stuck playing 20 in 2021, I'd hardly call that a great loss.

Yeah, I'm going to be vocal if the hardcore franchise crowd is ignored and marginalized yet again, but again it's SDS that should fear that, not me. What will be, will be, and I'm feeling calm about whatever 21 brings.

If there ever was a year not to pre-order the game, this is the year.

I have bought the game every year since MLBTS 12 and for years I have been saying "what I really should do is play last years game this year and then upgrade to this years game in the fall when it goes on sale during something like a Black Friday sale". But I never do it because SDS has always made some sort of change to their game that interested me. But not this year. The only change that has me curious is what they have done to fielding. Other than that, there is nothing new in MLBTS 21 that interests me coupled with the fact that SDS has purposely made my existing MLBTS 20 RTTS players obsolete outside of MLBTS 20. No this is the year to sit on the fence and wait to see what is actually in the game versus buying all the media hype.

In all fairness, we don't have any real information to base a decision to buy or not buy this year's game. No features have been officially announced. We'll see what is going on with this year's game in March.

I was going to say the same thing. We don't really know much at this point to say "oh they haven't made any significant changes". Now by the end of March, we should definitely have a better idea. I'm excited no matter what.

Yes of course once the developer streams surface, more will be known. But the developer streams are very controlled. They choose what they want us to see and what they want to hide. It won't be until the public actually has their hands on the game in late April when we will have a true understanding of what is and is not in the game. If people choose to pre-order the game in March during/after the streams, then at least then they will be making a somewhat educated choice. But to pre-order it now based on media hype makes little sense, at least to me. The only thing ordering now does is protect you against possible hyper-inflation to our fiat currencies. But when hyper-inflation hits (and it will hit sometime in the not too distant future), the price of a computer baseball game will be the least of our worries.

I pre-ordered two copies of the game, not bc of media hype, but bc SDS has always put out an incredible game of baseball. In my opinion, they put out the best sports game out of them all and they have my trust and deserve my money. And I can't ever recall them "hiding" anything while promoting the game. Just my two cents
