At least SOTS is still intact on PS4, but it's a huge bummer that no version of the game has both Stadium Creator and SOTS.

I'm far from an expert on console innards, but I hope it's feasible for the Xbox Series X to handle .mp3 files similarly to Sony's consoles by the time MLB 22 rolls around.

Been going back and forth playing the PS4 and PS5 versions and the most noticeable difference for me is PS5 version has faster loading times. Graphical differences appear to be minimal, at most, for me. PS5's lighting may be a bit better but it's something I had to look really hard to even notice a difference, and that still may be all in my head.

Both games play very smoothly on PS5. One just happens to have SOTS and the other has stadium creator (which doesn't even have night games!). Unless I've missed anything else, it's all PS4 version for me.

I couldn't agree more! I've played both versions and I don't see one noticeable difference between PS5 or PS4, except stadium creator (which is cool, but for me I play authentic MLB and that's not a feature I really care about). I think we have been spoiled all of these years to have a game developer like this. So once we see, "no visual differences" on next-gen, it's because the game has already met some pretty high standards. This game continues to rock and I'm not discouraged by anything at all. Yes, my preference would be to have SOTS on PS5, but I can live with no true difference in graphics and gameplay for one more year. I'm 100% confident they will put SOTS on PS5 in '22 because they've already ported over the some of the pitcher entrance and walk-up slot capabilities. When the PS4 came out it was a huge difference with graphics over PS3 when the PS4 version first release didn't have SOTS and it was painful. At least this year, I'm not tortured with any graphical difference between current and next-gen versions. They've updated several player faces, added some awesome new equipment, and retained SOTS on PS4. I'll take that all day every day (though, SDS, please put it in next year!). I will say that for those of you who haven't played the PS4 version on the PS5..you're missing out big time. The HDR and Sharper options play so smooth vs PS4 console. PS5 handles the frame rate issue like a champ and that itself makes the PS4 version feel kinda like a new game to me! I'm a SOTS-lifer and that feature is everything to me.

With the pandemic, I was concerned if they were going to be able to make a game at all this year much less even develop a game on next-gen. If you follow their previous development cycles for next-gen upgrades, you'll notice that usually the first release is missing SOTS and upgraded graphics and then the second year is when they put those things back into the game. I'd characterize this as they are checking the box just to get on next-gen and that is ok for me because the game already rocks!

Anybody else having issues with SOTS on PS5 (ps4 version)? I import music successfully. Chants and yells stay selected in the playlist editor. However on every restart of the game, the jukebox and music cues reset and are removed from assigned players and teams.

yep ps4 version on my PS5 Sounds of the Show reset and are removed everytime I turn off the console and are a mess

I haven't tried yet. But you would imagine you would see more about this if it was a bug. But knowing SDS these days, I doubt they fix it. They probably would say we put it in there and there you go.

It definitely a major bug. Ive edited music and inserted them into sounds of the show three times (Playing PS4 version on PS5) and been having all kinds off issues (Files being erased, Files missing from where I assigned them from Stadium Sounds, files saying deleted, and the files be erased after turning off the system). SOTS is a mess right now. Also framerate is not as good as MLB 20 was playing on the PS5...UGH

Yup I can confirm this is a very bad bug... unreal it just keeps getting better with 21..

So for any on PS5 using the PS4 version your SOTS will go bonkers if u close/restart the game.... the feature will be unusable until fixed, IF they ever even fix it. Getting close to being done with this

If we read the fine print closely, the FAQ said that...”Sounds of the Show is available on ***PlayStation 4 consoles***. On all other consoles, players will have 3 slots to set the Walk Up music, 1 slot to set the Home Run celebration, and 3 slots for Pitcher Entry music. ***Players will not be able to upload your own music on PlayStation 5, etc***

I have a massive feeling we’ve been looking at this the wrong way. That statement effectively says that we are not able to upload SOTS to PS5, no matter the version we are playing. It says, we can only upload custom music to a PS4 console.

Heart wrenching.

And when this is brought up to the dev team, I have a feeling that they’ll point to this and say that we cannot upload custom music to a PS5 console, no matter what version you play.

Again, I’m gutted after having been jumping for joy that the day was saved.

We will have to wait until someone that has a PS4 to see if it works for them. If it works for them, this is not a bug.

Also, when trying to just play the mp3 files imported, by hitting square, they do not play on any menu (inside player edit, SOTS tab, etc)

Also, after testing just now, while playing a game, custom imported music is nothing but silence for batter walk ups.

Agreed. After finding I cannot even play the songs on the menu I found that strange so I went to 20 and tried to import some songs for testing.

I was having the same issue, songs successfully imported via USB -> MUSIC folder...successful import of all songs but nothing but silence and when I hit square to play song, it picks a random generic song.

No sound in-game either for batters I have assigned walk up songs to.

Any ideas?

But the real test will be for someone who has a PS4 to test out and see if it works there.

After reading several posts, I will only be buying the 2021 PS4 version of the game to play on the PS5 once I’m able to buy one. lol.

The thing I want to see updated in the next gen game for 2022 is commentary. Add hundreds if not thousands of new lines. Make it where it seems you never hear the same thing twice.

Have new commentators calling games too. Ideally, hire color commentators from different teams and have them use their trademark phrases for excitement.
