Maybe I'm understanding wrong since the JR edition is PS4 disc and a PS5 code.... Wouldnt everyone with the JR edition have the full SOTS?

Would just be the PS5 disc version on 4/20 that wouldnt have it?

There is no Sounds of the Show on PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S according to the FAQ

Sounds of the Show is available on PlayStation 4 consoles. On all other consoles, players will have 3 slots to set the Walk Up music, 1 slot to set the Home Run celebration, and 3 slots for Pitcher Entry music. Players will not be able to upload your own music on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S.

The PS4 disc is the PS4 version of the game. The PS5 version of the game does not have it, so no, you don’t have it unless you want to play the PS4 version and miss out on other stuff (mainly stadium creator).

Hey Armor....Why do you specify the "disc version of MLB 21 for PS4" ? If I decide to digitally buy JRE of The show 21 on PS5, I can download the ps4 version as well...correct? Is there some reason the digital version of the PS4 would not support SOTS on the PS5? Just trying to get some clarity as I am close to going this route and want to be sure I don't have to have the disc version for some reason. Thanks.

So if you play the PS4 disc version on the PS five console you will have SOTS.

If you play on the PS4 you have SOTS as well.

Thanks. I may be back on board with 21 again and just stick with the PS4 version on PS5 assuming it plays as smooth as the Show 20 does. I then have access to the PS5 version of the Show (minus SOTS) if it is revealed that the next gen version has other significant advantages that aren't obvious prior to release.

So here my thing i been doing sounds of the show every year now for a while and yes i will miss It but I’m still excited to play baseball and on next gen. This just save me time of having to add all the songs and splitting into three with the marker then assigning it. Yes it did bring extra realism but it was also very time consuming and i never got to finish a full season. So i look on the bright side. If they have a great presentation like announcing in game tickers then its not a complete waste. Fri cant wait to come.

Yes this will definitely save me some time haha. Hopefully it returns in the future, but I skipped the PS4 generation and was able to get a PS5, so I'm definitely not skipping this years game just cuz they removed a feature i enjoyed. MLB 16 on the ps3 gets old after 4 years lol. And I still have 20 which plays great on ps5

I knew something happened. Both the Series S and X can read USB drives, is there something else I'm missing?

From the quick research that I've done, one can use a USB drive and play music off of it on the new Xboxes, so I'm not really sure why the feature was removed completely for all but the PS4.

Whether you used SOTS or not, you have to admit this is a pretty slimy move from SDS. They knew people would be upset about this and it would lose them some sales, so they chose to ‘hide it’. Days before launch is a bit late to inform the community that a longtime feature that a lot of players enjoyed is suddenly gone. They know what their doing finally letting it out now stashed in the F&Q in the website. Many people probably won’t see it on there and will go into the game and just find it gone once SDS already has the money.

Pretty disappointing they went about it this way. They definitely could’ve softened the blow a bit by being transparent with us earlier that it was removed.

Maybe this is a hot take, but even though people like to bash EA, with the way NG Madden plays and if they do follow up their fix Madden franchise updates throughout M21’s cycle with some heat on Madden 22, SDS may be about to fall below EA.
